Ace was always annoyed with her father, him never had telling them about where her origins lay. She always wanted to know, but her father refused to tell her. Even her grandfather wouldn't tell her; although Ace believed it was because she was a girl. The 15 year old rolled her eyes; Sometimes she hated being a girl.
Amber smiled as Caitlin smiled back before answering. Her brothers always got slapped and yelled at for asking such a question, but Amber guessed, it was because she was a girl, it helped her case. She listened as the twenty-four year old spoke about her experiences and how she was originally from Tenessee. The 15 year old listened with great interest as Caitlin explained about her being the pack alpha and all that.
As she finished, Ace spoke up,"Wow... That's pretty cool, Caitlin..." Ace had always enjoyed listening to others, hearing their stories, their experiences. It gave Ace a sense of knowing. She enjoyed learning, which was quite an interesting trait, considering her brothers hated to learn like in school or anthing. Ace was always annoyed by that, but never let it show. The 15 year old knew her brothers, well enough to know they hated when she nagged on them.
"If I may ask, Caitlin... What is-was it like to be a nomad?" Ace asked the older girl, her head tilted slightly as if to think. It was many of Acer's habits. She often tilted her head if she was confused or thinking, which her brothers had a hard time figuring out which was which. A small mental grin crossed her face, thinking back to the last time this had happened. Her brother's faces were absoulately priceless. She mentally laughed at her thoughts before waiting for Cailtin to answer her question.

Caitlin remained silent for a few moments while Ace soaked in what she had been told and when the young girl said it was cool she was sure that it was directed at her previously being an alpha. She slightly grinned and allowed her mind to drift back to her old pack once again, for the first time in a while. If she was completely honest with herself, she would admit that she missed them dearly and wanted more than anything to at least make contact with them to check on how they all were and how the tribe was doing. She knew however, that if she made contact than the next thing she would want would be to return home and rejoin the pack, but she just couldn’t do it. They all knew what she had been through with her abduction, and they all knew it in great detail which was something she just couldn’t handle being around all of the time anymore. That was exactly why she didn’t want her new pack to find anything out, at least not for quite a while yet.
As so as she heard Ace ask about what it was like to be a nomad she slightly laughed. Of course any young wolf would wonder about something like that and she honestly couldn’t blame the girl. If you were used to living in one place all of your life and then on top of that you were then tied to it by something completely out of your control, you would wonder about someone else in the same position breaking free from their own bonds.
“To be honest, Ace, it has it’s positive side and it’s negative side just like anything else.” She had been resting her eyes on the ground as she had thought and spoke but she now lifted them to rest on Ace’s face. She smiled and slightly nodded before continuing on.
“The positive side is that you don’t have anyone to worry about except yourself and your mind is once again your own. There’s no longer a concern of a pack hearing your every thought and every secret. You are able to move at your own pace and go wherever you like. You can stay in a place you like for as long as you wish, or as long as you can go unnoticed, or leave a place that really just isn’t your speed to find somewhere better.” She paused a second lightly biting her lip before continuing once again.
“On the other hand, there are down falls too like not having anyone like yourself that you can talk to with complete freedom and not have to be careful of what you want to tell them. Also, encounters with vampires are an absolute No because you never know if the encounter will be passive or aggressive and a lone wolf doesn’t stand a chance against a seasoned vampire. However, these encounters truly depend on how much you move and whether you stick to lower populated areas or not. Why do you ask, Ace?” She gave a lot of information before it occurred to her that maybe she shouldn’t have before finding out why Ace was curious about it. She hoped the girl wasn’t thinking about her and her imprint hitting the road as nomads if the packs didn’t join and Sam’s pack posed a threat. Honestly, she found herself feeling protective of Ace and Ace’s imprint that she had never even met, thinking to herself that if the pair did have to leave this place, that she would go with them as an extra wolf to help keep them safe.

Ace noticed how Caitlin seemed to drift off. She could tell, Caitlin was looking into space almost. The 15 year old knew she was thinking back to her family; How, Simple. Her brothers often got the same look when they thought about their parents. Ace knew better then to interrupt. Instead of speaking, Ace kept quiet, looking around. 'Well, at least the guys aren't here yet...' Ace's smile cracked into a grin as she thought about her slow brothers. They were built for strength and hand-to-hand combat, unlike Ace, who was build for speed and agility. It was true Ace could handle herself in a fight, but she could work on it.
Ace listened as Caitlin laughed slightly. She knew it sounded silly, but, she wanted to know. As Caitlin explained the ups and downs to being a nomad, Ace listened closely. She knew her brothers and Seth would kill her if she left, but she was always interested in what it was like. When Caitlin asked why the 15 year old asked, Ace smirked lightly.
"I'm not running away if that's what you're asking... Seth and my brothers would kill me," Ace laughed slightly before continuing,"I guess, I just wanted to know... Having never really been in the outside world, It's nice to hear other people's adventures and history..." Ace said with a smile and a shrug.

Caitlin had allowed herself to get a bit lost in her thoughts for a little while but she did subconsciously note that Ace was looking around as though checking for something. She cataloged the thought and grinned as she heard Ace mention she was just curious about other’s experiences but not planning on running. This was a relief seeing that the last thing she would need on her plate was the responsibility of a runner and having to answer to multiple packs about it. This honestly was a weight off of her chest and a worry she could lay to rest.
“I’m glad to hear that Ace. And maybe sometime I’ll bring along one of my photo albums and show you some of the places I’ve been and let you in on the stories behind the pictures.” She smiled noting that this was the first time in a long time she had someone she could really openly share with. It was a liberating feeling knowing that she could trust Ace completely and she was happy to share what she had learned, so if Ace wanted to know, than all she had to do was ask. This thought made her smile and as she adjusted sitting on the rock she recalled Ace looking around and she tilted her head slightly.
“So Ace… If you don’t mind me asking. What was it you were looking for just a little while ago?” She wasn’t sure what her new young friend may have been looking for, or waiting on. At times it seemed like she was just as curious as people far younger than her, but she had been told it was a trait common among shifters so she didn’t really ever concern herself with it as a problem.

Acer's smile cracked a little higher as Caitlin spoke about bringing a photo album out and showing her adventures. The 15 year old's light blue eyes were bright with happiness as she spoke,"That would be amazing, Caitlin! I would love that.." Ace loved learning, it was like a thrist. She loved to learn; She would often read books on history.
As Caitlin asked about what Ace had been looking for, the 15 year old answered immediately,"My brothers and I were suppose to race to the top of the mountain, but they're not here yet..." the 15 year old girl sighed before running a hand through her hair,"With my luck, my little brothers got stuck in a tree.... again..." Ace groaned, thinking about the last time her three littlest brothers were out in the woods. Let's just say, there is a reason that shifters DO NOT climb trees....

Caitlin grinned as Ace expressed great interest in seeing her photo album of her travels. She hadn’t been around long and she had only traveled for about four years but she had kept close record of where she had been. She had stopped in New York City for a while & had quite a few interesting experiences she could tell about. Not to mention the little bit of time she spent in places like Salem Massachusetts, Nashville Tennessee, Miami Florida, and Los Angeles California to name a few. She would be more than glad to share these little adventures with Ace because honestly, she hadn’t had anyone to share such things with for a long time. It would do her some good to be able to let someone know what she had been up to, that is, other than the guys in her new pack.
As Ace mentioned that she had been racing with her brothers, Caitlin began to wonder what Ace’s brothers’ reactions would be to their sister befriending a random wolf. Especially once they all found out that she actually belonged to Sam’s pack and this was a pack they didn’t want to have any random run-ins with. The comment of the younger brothers ending up stuck in trees made Caitlin laugh and she couldn’t help but suddenly picture a couple of wolves tangled up in branches. What in the world would a couple of wolves be doing up in the trees? After all, any wolf with any common sense knew better than to get themselves in a tight spot by climbing trees because everyone knows that wolves live on the ground and not in trees.
“I see, well, do you think your brothers are going to mind when they find out about us talking? After all, if they need reassurance that I won’t be telling Sam about the Jackson pack, I’d be happy to talk to them about it. I don’t want you to get into any trouble because of me…” She wondered exactly how far behind Ace the rest of the Jackson pack was and she couldn’t help wondering exactly how many of them there were. However, she decided not to ask which was mainly for two reasons including not wanting to pry information about them from Amber and also because it didn’t really make a difference and so she wasn’t sure she wanted to know. As she waited, she contemplated exactly what she would do if Amber’s brothers didn’t approve of their conversation and most of her solutions including diving off of the cliffs to put some distance between her and the other wolves.
