The fact of the matter was she loved her daughter, and would have done anything in the world for her. Including sacrificing her own life to save her daughter’s. Love was something that kept her alive in the end. She had a happy glint in her eyes. She had been thankful that she had been able to live beyond the end of her human life. She was thankful every second of every day even though she never slept, of watching her young daughter have the same luxary to sleep. And to know that every day, when her child woke up that she would be there, same as when she went to bed at night. She knew her daughter was slightly protective over her and their entire family and she coudln’t say she blamed her daughter. Fifty years ago, things were different. Things were hectic, though she did not know how long they would be that way. She loved her daughter wholeheartedly without a second thought. She never thought twice of losing her life to save that of her daughter’s despite what it would leave behind for the rest of her family. It was something she had always been willing to do, forever and for always.
Everything had gone the way it was meant to, she believed that wholeheartedly. She loved her daughter, with everything she was, everything she could ever be. Her baby girl was her entire world as much as her husband was. It was strange to think of how she and Rosalie had bonded after everything. After all they hadn’t been particularily close when she was human. It wasn’t until she got married and had come home pregnant that Rosalie had stepped up to the plate and had tried to be more sisterly towards her. The fact that Rosalie had stepped up to the plate to help her, when even her own husband wasn’t ready to admit that it was real. Although it had been only fifty years, nothing had changed since then. As Rosalie still loved her niece just as fiercely as the day she was born.
Like it or not though certain things had happend and she had loved Jacob as her best friend, and he was someone she would always care for though she did enjoy throwing him around a time or two, when he made her especially angry like the time she had found out about his imprinting on her little girl. That had been fun. She also knew how Edward felt about Jacob and wished he’d stay away but because of the imprinting Jacob couldn’t do that. The fact of the matter was she could see her daughter falling for Jacob whether she expected it or not. It was bound to happen. She’d seen it herself with the way that Emily had been with Sam, and all the others who had imprinted on someone, but it did take some time. Time was everything they had. She couldn’t help but know that Jacob and Renesmee had shared a very special bond, and that with time it would improve into something much bigger than even her daughter expected it to become. Sheknew that her daughter could not force the feelings to come out too early. It wouldn’t work. A chuckle escaped her lips as she thought of Edward wanting to rip Jacob’s head off. “Yeah and I’m sure he would have too, had he not been too focused on seeing what I was capable of.” A playful grin appeared on her face as she looked at her baby girl. Life could be unpredictable but that was what made life fun. If not a little more interesting.
She couldn’t help but chuckle at her daughter knowing this was an embarrassing topic for her little girl but it was one she would continue to talk about for a while. She could only sense that her daughter felt a little uncomfortable with the topic, and the only reason she knew that was by how her daughter’s expression was. The ball had made her nervous as she knew what the Volturi were in fact capable of. Of course she knew that the Volturi had not wanted to lose a talent like her husband’s. What had happened that day had haunted her for a long while until it became to the point where she and Edward were able to get married. The thought of him leaving her side now was all but a fleeting memory.
“Good, because the last thing I need is to be worried about you trying some kind of prank on them. Because unlike your aunts and uncles they won’t be too keen about it. They would do something that none of us want to see happen. I know it. I know that they are very dangerous. But even if they have a reason to fear us, we have more than enough reason to be worried. You may think that this is just all for fun and games but you haven’t seen the worst of what they can do, believe me, it’s not pleasant.” She replied to her daughter before seeing her daughter’s childish smile. It made her think her daughter was up to something.
The fact was that Emmett needed to get ganged up on once in a while. “I know, just like I love him, he’s my brother after all. Well you might not want to make his life overly miserable, but he could use it, a little bit. After all he needs to be shaken up a little bit.” A chuckle played upon her lips as she thought about it. She had wanted her daughter to be happy but it appeared she wouldn’t be...at least not by the standard that she had hoped for. A smile appeared on her face.
“Jacob is one of my oldest friends, I’ve known him a very long time, longer than I’ve known your father. Believe me, I know the feeling of not wanting to break apart a friendship with him. It’s not really a hard decision when you love someone.” She chuckled lightly when she looked at her baby girl. When it came to her father’s old house she was lucky her father willed it to her. She had to think of it as it being Charlie’s way of looking after her from wherever it was that his soul went to after he died. It was unfortunate she’d never join him, but at least he never had to worry about burying her before he died, something that some parents had to. The fact that she lost her father was a hard thing to handle, especially since she had grown closer to him over the years since she had been turned. “Sure, I’ll let your father know we’re going there and that way if he wants, he can come with us. I miss it too. That house I grew up in....it was the house I fell in love with your father....when he used to sneak into my room when I was seventeen just to watch me sleep. One day if you like, you can live in there. I’m sure Charlie would love that, to know that it’s stayed in the family. And that it’s getting some use, instead of just staying there empty.” She knew she could have rented it out if she wanted to but she had hoped in the long run that it could be where her daughter and Jacob once they became official would reside. A house was not a home without someone to love and nurture it, the way that Charlie would have liked.

Renesmee grinned lightly when they recalled the moment her mother had thrown Jacob around the yard, letting him enjoy the fastest ferris wheel ever. It was such a pity that she had been too young at the time so what she could remember was not very lively, although she still got the amusement of observing such an event. Sure her father had been as irritated as her mother had been due to the fact that both of them must have felt like Jake had stolen their newborn daughter from them by his imprinting. Her mother was right though: her father wanted to know his now-vampire wife’s abilities. Besides, she and Jake had made a great comedy for the whole family to watch. Had she been a bit older, she would have been the commentator of the match between the famous Bella Cullen and Jacob Black – the terminator. She could not help but laugh at the idea. It had been a lot of fun but she truly hoped the event would not repeat itself anytime in the future. Her family had to tolerate Jacob as well as his irritating smell just for her sake and her mother’s sake. That was what she was so grateful for.
Renesmee frowned slightly as the Volturi was mentioned. She did not hate them but did not like them either. They were not villains but indeed no heroes. She did not fear them but not like to be around them either. All she wanted to do was attending the ball; it was all about the ball, not the Volturi. Fifty years had past and she barely knew about the world she was involved in. She wanted to know the people in the dark kingdom, the people that had made legends. Furthermore, Renesmee loved bedtime stories. She hoped, somehow, she would be able to get to know a bit about other vampires’ back stories. Of course, not every vampire had a happy family as she did and their journeys to the immortal life were commonly rough and bitter. And…she was dying to know the nature of what half of her really was – what a true vampire should be. Certainly, her intention would worry her parents so she just simply appeared excited about the upcoming ball like a child waiting for a family trip to an amusement park on every weekend. She did not like the idea of her family being aware of what was going on in her head. She had to be very careful around her father, trying not to think a bit of it. Her father would get furious if he ever found out that his baby girl was putting her life at risk, as she usually did but much more seriously this time. I’m not going to pull any pranks on them, mom. At least, not on Aro, Marcus and Caius; I can assure you that. She grinned mischievously. I can picture the displeasure in my head. Well, I’ll make sure things won’t get ugly because of me. She said softly, blinking her large chocolate-brown eyes a few times innocently.
Talking about Emmett, there was a ton of pleasure and fun. He was not as old as her father but doubtlessly very old, but he did not grow up, or grow old to be exact, both physically and mentally. Renesmee was close to her uncle, despite his teasing her all the time, about almost everything. He could see fun things in everything she did and she barely understood where he got that gift. It was fun being around her childish uncle as the two usually came up with some cool things, or pranks to experiment on others in the family. Nevertheless, that did not mean they actually got on well with each other. The uncle teased his little niece until she burst into tears; the little niece always tried to revenge later. That seemed like a circle, a hoop that had no end, which was surprisingly a good thing as Renesmee was sure that life would suck without her uncle. Renesmee attempted to hide a smile forming on her face but she failed completely. That is absolutely right, Mom. He needs to be shaken up a bit…And if he looks for someone to revenge on, I will tell him that you are my mastermind. She laughed shrilly.
She was glad her mother no longer referred to the whole marriage thing as well as some other watery subjects. She had no idea where she inherited the allergy to romance from; but she truly hated it, as well as everything involved in that topic. A soft smile danced on her lips gently as her mother appeared to understand the circumstances amazingly. Her relationship with Jacob was truly a jumble of chaos, a maze without an exit. Sometimes she felt bad for her wolf friend as she believed things would have worked much more effectively to him if he had imprinted on someone else, not her – a wild child that never wanted to grow up. He needed someone to take care of him, especially when he had to suffer the terrible pain of losing his father and the fear of losing his sisters. But ironically, he was the one to take care of her instead. She felt so terrible about herself, since she was unable to do anything to help him overcome the hard time of his life. She was not good at comforting people; her careless words would only make things worse. The only thing she had done for him was sitting silently by him all day when his father had passed away. Their friendship was so beautiful that she did not want to change anything about it. She was not ready for something…serious. He was waiting for her, she could see that. But it definitely would take a long time until some mature thoughts found a way to sneak into her head, which was usually filled with childish dreams and crazy ideas. If…just if…I have to fall in love with someday, I hope it will be Jake, because I don’t want to see any sad glint in his eyes. He is so important to me that I never want to hurt him, or his feelings. She admitted after a heavy sigh.
The conversation was lightened as the idea of visiting Charlie’s house was brought to the table. Renesmee listened to her mother with a smile on her face. She loved back stories, especially the ones that belonged to her parents. She always adored their love for each other and secretly hoped she would be able to experience the same thing when the time came. I’ll think about that some time. That actually sounds like a great idea! And if I move in grandpa’s house, I will definitely set up a trap by the windows so that no one can sneak in while I’m sleeping. She said jokingly.

She could still recall with vivid clarity throwing Jacob around the yard. Oh how angry she had been at the time. It was fun of course, but she felt guilty when Seth had gotten involved. It shouldn’t have happened but it did, nevertheless. The fun part was seeing Edward’s contentment of what her new abilities could be like, her strength as well as her shield later came in handy. She and Jacob were quite fun for the entire family to watch though at the time. She did not see it in herself to actually throw Jacob around the yard again unless he did something completely stupid. Jacob of course had the irritating smell, like a wet dog—but she and her daughter both liked it. The rest of their family attempted to be tolerable towards it, except Rosalie wasn’t so keen to that.
She could tell that bringing up the Volturi was not something either of them were thrilled about, she did not like them but she did not ultimately hate them either, despite the fact of what they could have done fifty years ago. She would keep her daughter close during the ball. Of course with the Volturi, anything was possible, and it could very well be a set up. Not every vampire had a family or a coven to come back to, and she hoped when it was all said and done that they all would be safe. Backstories on certain vampires could get interesting but so could the backstories of the shifters themselves. Not all transition into the vampiric life were anything but pleasant.
Knowing the truth about what a real vampire could be she wanted to protect her daughter from all kinds of trouble. She did not like not knowing what was going on in her daughter’s head, but she knew that Edward should be able to discover that, of course. Immortal or not, she was stil a parent so therefore she would look over her daughter very carefully. She knew that she and her husband would be very upset if anything happened to their baby girl.
“Well you better not, we don’t want to start a fight with the Volturi, you have no idea just how dangerous they can be. Don’t you even think about pranking anyone at the ball. It’s one thing if you do it here at our home, but we’ll be in the Volturi’s home and they won’t take too kindly to any kind of pranks no matter how innocent they might be.” She told her daughter as her daughter was getting to be quite a bit like her father. She loved her entire family, and Emmett had always been an amusing brother of course. He had been happy when she had become a newborn, though he had not liked being beat at arm wrestling, of course. The relationship her brother had with her daughter was something unusual of course. It was an everlasting circle, where teasing and revenge seemed to go hand in hand. A smile appeared on her face as she couldn’t help but laugh.
“Yes he does of course need to be shaken up. But instead of blaming me, I have a better idea. Actually I would blame your father on this one. Since he’s the one who suggested I give Emmett a hard time...I’m just passing the information onto you, sweetheart.” She worried about her family especially with everything happening now. Of course she had always loved Jacob, as a brother more than anyhting else. Stil she felt bad for her oldest friend, having lost his own father and now worries about his two sisters. Which she could in fact understand of course. As she liked his two sisters. She always believed that everything happened for a reason. The pairing between her daughter and her very best friend was something that she never would have believed if she had not witnesed it herself. She did care for Jacob and hoped he'd get through it.
She knew that Jacob would comfort Renesmee no matter if he was going through something as heartbreaking as another loss. Still their friendship was a beautiful one to witness. “It will be, I’m sure. Jacob’s a good guy. I’ve known him as long as I can remember. He’s important to me as well. Though I hate to see him with a sad face on....you know how much he cares for you sweetheart...he would do anything for you if you asked.” She chuckled as she heard her daughter’s heavy sigh.
When the conversation was brought back to her father’s house...her house, she smiled. It was the one place she had felt the most comfortable aside from being by her husband’s side. “Well I don’t think you’ll have to worry about that, of course you do know that locks wouldn’t keep your father and I from checking in on you.” She teased her young daughter and smiled warmly at her.

She enjoyed every single second of the conversation with her mother. Most of teenagers chose to stay away from their parents as much as possible, because they believed them youngsters could never learn to swallow the old school wisdom of the parents. Renesmee could not say she agreed with them, at least not in her case. Edward and Bella were the most wonderful parents on the planet. They carried both the wisdom and the wildness inside them, which was apparently awesome! They were her guiders and also her friends, although sometimes they became overreacting protectors. What was more to ask? I’m old enough to understand that I should not tickling an angry lion, mom. She grinned slightly when her mother once again warned her about how dangerous the Volturi could be. She had never forgotten that they were the lurking danger her family was about to face at the ball. However, the thought of provoking them a bit was hard to fight.
She let the discussion about her uncle slip away easily with a childish smile. She could not promise anything although her mother made it clear to her that she should not do anything unacceptable. At least they would happen when the underworld went stir crazy with the ball coming soon. Renesmee simply could not stand the frowns on the faces of people she loved so dearly. She could not do much for them; in fact, there was nothing she was able to do to make things easier. A good laugh would be the best she could manage to give her family. What if these few weeks before the ball were the last ones they could spend together? What if the battle took place again? Imagining the day the death became to frightening to the undead was nothing pleasant. Despite all her attempt to be more careful with the ball, she could not help the excitement dancing inside her. Knowing going to Volterra for the ball would have the same meaning with killing herself, she still felt so eager to bring her head to the blades.
The conversation turned to Jacob; and it was slightly uneasy for her when her mother kept on talking about their relationship. Renesmee loved him dearly with her heart and soul, if she did have a soul. He was someone she never wanted to lose but also someone she hardly could imagine a life with. He had been with her for so long – longer than anyone could imagine. Fifty years was a lifetime. She could not stand a life without him. However, commitments were stupid and irritating to the little girl. Binding her life to a certain person was not what she wanted in her likely endless life. She wanted to experience not ending up happily with her first love. Her life had always been so easy that she wanted to taste pain. Funny but realistic. When she was ready, she would know what to do with stupid commitments. Now she was so young and unprepared. Life went on and there was an adventure ahead of her. And you do know how much I treasure his kindness. But it is not what I’m searching for in this life. She said with a light tone and a smile crossing her face.
A laugh escaped her lips when her mother stated that she and her father would be able to come and check in on her no matter what she did. She could not say that she doubted her mother’s words. Well, we cannot hide from the parents, can we? As she finished her statement, the bell suddenly rang which startled her. Time flied so fast. She had been at school so early but now it as already time to get into class. Tortures. She automatically thought about skipping a class or two. But sh remembered who she was talking to. A smile grew on her lips again. Time for class, mom. I’ll see you in Spanish class. Hurriedly, the girl put a kiss on her mother’s cheek than ran inside, joining the loudmouths and the gossip girls on the new day.

Being a wife and mother was probably one of the greatest if not the greatest thing in the world. It was something she truly did enjoy. She knew herself that most teenagers would want nothing to do with their parents, but her little girl was unique in that aspect. Her daughter was unique in alot of ways that most other children were not. Most children also weren’t friends with their parents the way that she was with her daughter. She felt the two could tell eachother anything. Which was a far cry to how she had been with her own parents. Charlie seemed to like to keep his distance for the most part, and let her live how she chose to, her mother....well her mother had been like a child herself.
Eighteen years she had been utterly ordinary before being transformed into what some would call a “creature of the night” otherwise known as a vampire. It was something she had come to learn to accept, with ease seeing the way Edward and their family had been before her own transformation. Of course it wasn’t just her maternal instincts that were guiding her choices when it came to protecting her daughter, it was because her daughter was the youngest of their coven and knowing that fact made her want to protect her even more so. “Yes, I know you’re more than old enough to understand it. However, you’re just like your father who would try to anger the Volturi just because he could.” She sighed as she said it. She knew that Edward would love to provoke the Volturi, if it had just been him alone, but he wouldn’t do that now that he had their daughter to watch over.
Despite the fact that fifty years had come and gone, she was more than understanding of everyone’s situation, especially Esme’s and Carlisle’s. Although she tried to remain upbeat prior to the ball, it was becoming increasingly difficult to do so. The one part of it all that had been a comfort to her was Jacob. Jacob had been the one who would forever guard her daughter in case something should happen to her. It was slightly reassuring to know that Jacob would never let anything befall her daughter.
She did understand her daughter’s fear of committment as she too had been that way once. She knew that not all relationships, even the predestined ones worked the way they were supposed to. “And I understand that, but it’s....hard I think. You know how much he cares for you, and...I’ve been his best friend for a long time, so I know how he’s feeling. But I also understand your position. But you are my daughter and I will accept your choice, no matter who you’re with. Because that’s how much I love you.” She smirked as she gazed upon her daughter and heard her laugh. She loved her daughter’s laugh probably more than anything in the world. “No, you can’t. Especially given your father and I are excellent hunters....” Meaning she could track her daughter almost anywhere, except when crossing the border, in which case she’d give the task to Jacob. She had been so lost in thought that she did not realize it was already time for first period. Oh how she wished she could skip it but she had to set a good example for her daughter. Besides she missed enough school during the sunny days.
She smiled at her daughter and then felt her daughter kiss her on the cheek. “Yes I know...” She smirked as she looked at her baby girl. “I love you, Renesmee.” She said moments before her daughter ran off to join her classmates. Classmates who would die as she lived on.

Breaking Benjamin is my favourite band of 90s. They had so many hits! The ones I remember are 'The Diary of Jane', 'Tourniquet' and, of course their hit 'So Cold'. These are real masterpieces, not garbage like today! And it is awesome that they have a tour in 2019! And I'm going to visit their concert in 2020. The concert setlist is here: breakingbenjaminconcerts.com. Check it out and maybe we can even visit one of the Benjamin's together!
