Personality :: Jasper has always been a caring, compassionate gentleman, he worries about others more than himself and will do anything to make his wife smile. To other people however he can seem cold and distant this is due to his military background, but around his family he shows a different side a more open and relaxed especially when Alice is around. Despite Jasper's power being able to manipulate other people's emotions, he has issues controlling his own and keeping them in check one of his biggest fears is that he will loose control and let his thirst for blood control him, like he did on Bella's birthday which he still has not forgiven himself for.
Jasper has a playful side to him and he enjoys playing rough and tumble with each if them, more than anything Jasper enjoys to be outside especially in the woods this is because he can get away from people and the weight of their emotions. The one thing that can wipe away all of Jasper's worries and fears is his wife Alice, she is his soul mate and he loves her more than anything and he would do anything to protect her.

History ::[/i] history: Jasper was the youngest major in the Confederate Army in Texas signing up when he was seventeen he quickly worked through the ranks of the Army. His life changed for ever two years later after evacuating a town of women and children he was heading back to camp when he came across a group of three women, immediately offering them any assistance he could offer he was bitten by the lead of the three Maria. Nettie, Lucy and her were forming an army of newborns, to which Jasper became a great help his new ability allowed him to calm the newborns and prevent them killing each other. It took time for Jasper to make his statement in the group his military training not preparing him at all for combat with newborns, he was in a lot of fights which to start off he did not win which is how he gained the multiple bite marks and scars across his body, they were battle scars.
Over time he managed to catch Maria's eye becoming her right hand man she managed to manipulate him into training her new borns and disposing of the old ones (a task jasper found particularly difficult because he could feel everything they felt) under the illusion that they were in love. Jasper also killed Nettie and Lucy when they tried to get in Maria's way as her turf war for the land grew, slowly Jasper began to defy her by not killing his newborn friend Peter and allowing him to escape with another newborn Charlotte. After this incident Jasper could sense she began to fear him, that he would try to take control and kill her, so she began to plot away to kill him. It frightened Jasper to think he might have to kill the only person that mattered to him, so instead he escaped her Coven joining Peter and Charlotte for awhile.
Jasper however became severely depressed over the killings he and committed, still feeling the pain of his human and newborn killings, this led him to leave his friends and travel alone trying to kill less often to the point where his thirst was overwhelming. His life took a change forever when he entered a diner in Philadelphia where he met a particularly enthusiastic young vampire like himself, her positive emotions changed him and lead him to trust her especially when she spoke about already knowing him and how she had been waiting for him.
Alice taught him many things the most vital being how to survive off the blood of animals, which he struggled with greatly, but he allowed himself to trust Alice and on their journey to locate the Cullens that Alice had seen in her predictions he fell in love with her. Upon finding then Cullens they were immediately brought into the family Jasper found it hard to relate to his new siblings and parents at first, since he was use to being alone, but slowly let them in. Shortly after this he and Alice became man and wife one of the happiest days in his memory. In order to keep suspicions low Jasper posed as Rosaline's twin brother and kept his surname Hale, this would also prevent confusion with his relationship with Alice.
With this new family Jasper spent a lot of time moving from place to place repeating High School, something he does not tire of as Jasper is very academic he enjoys the chance of different schools and taking different subjects. They were also forced to move once after Maria tracked him down and attempted to make him rejoin her coven, he rejected the offer and they moved to be on the safe side. Jasper found attending high school repeatedly very overwhelming there were hundreds of people all feeling different emotions which were constantly changing that and the constant temptation for their blood did not help, but with Alice around he found it easier to resist the temptation.
When Edward first began to interact with Bella his obsession angered Jasper he could sense his fascination with her and was worried he would end up revealing their secret putting them all in danger. Another difficult thing for Jasper was the fact that Bella was human and he constantly felt the temptation stronger then everyone else to drink her blood, the reassurance from Alice helped him to avoid him trying to kill her. When the tracker James began his hunt for Bella after interrupting a baseball game the family were having, Jasper and Alice took Bella to safety hoping James would go after Edward instead. Realising what she meant to Edward, Jasper began to accept Bella and the immediate sense of danger distracted him from wanting to drink her blood. He felt horrible when Bella managed to get away from the two of then to meet James under the illusion he had kidnapped her mother, but with the assistance from Emmett he helped rip James apart and burn the pieces ending the hunt and saving Bella.
As Bella began to be more and more apart of Edwards life Jasper accepted her even using his ability to get her to agree to attend a birthday party for her planned by Alice. Jasper regretted this later when he tried to attack her after she received a paper cut opening a present and he was unable to control his thirst. He was prevented from hurting her but Edward who pushed Bella away and Emmett who put him in an unbreakable grip whilst Alice calmed him down. As he was taken from the room he sensed his brothers sorrow and disappointment thinking it was directed at him Jasper has not allowed himself to be forgiven for what he did. The family then moved away another thing that Jasper felt responsible for, he found the time difficult as he could sense his brothers anguish and despite his ability was unable to calm or relax him. When Alice and Bella raced to Italy to stop Edward enraging the Voltori Jasper could not help but worry as he understood Aro's desire to have Alice and her ability, he was immensely relieved when they all returned safe and wells he family moved back to Forks.
When Victoria resurfaces Jasper is the first to suggest that the strings of killings and disappearances in Seattle is a newborn army, as Alice's predictions begin ton prove his point Jasper takes the else with his skill and knowledge on newborns finally serving some good. He shares with Bella his background telling her stuff he has not let anyone outside of his family know proving to himself his trust for her and that he can resist the want to kill her. Jasper teaches both the Cullens and the Quileute Wolf pack whom they have formed a temporary alliance with how to kill newborns and about their weaknesses, he also uses his military skills to formulate the perfect battle plan which works as they successfully kill the new born army. Durning the battle Jasper attempts to be everywhere at once helping his family, the less experienced wolves and protecting his wife earning him more scars to add to his collection. In the end the battle is won and Victoria is killed.
Jasper was very pleased for his brother at his engagement to Bella and on their wedding day used his abilities to help calm her and remove her wedding jitters. The wedding goes well and reminds Jasper of his own little ceremony and wedding day when he married Alice. Everything changes however when Bella returns from their honeymoon pregnant, Jasper helps defend both Bella and Renesme against the Quileute Wolf pack and learns to accept Jacob as part of their family when he leaves his own pack to join them, he also senses his love and eagerness to protect Renesme making him one of the few to truly accept his connection to the child. When Bella is turned into a vampire Jasper says with her to keep her calm and prevent her going wild with blood lust and attacking someone he is surprised at her self control, which makes him feel guilty about the times when he lacked it.
Witt the news that the Voltori are going to come for them Jasper employs an old friend to create fake IDs doe Jacob and Renesme so they could escape should violence occur. Alice and him also flee to South America without warning their family to try and find another half vampire half human to prove to the Voltori Renesme is not dangerous, Jasper also gets in contact with Peter and Charlotte who go to Forks to stand with the Cullens to repay the debt they owe Jasper for allowing them to go free many years ago. They return with Nahuel who convinces the Voltori and they leave peacefully.
Fifty years have passed since these events and Jasper has found himself back in Forks attending high school again with his wife, siblings and niece, since all the people they had once know have died they can go undetected.

The small clearing that Jasper found himself in was one of his favorite places in all of Forks, it was perfectly positioned in the middle of nowhere and people very rarely were anywhere near this area except on hunting days, which meant here he could be at peace. Away from the emotions of the people around him, the constant need to keep everyone calm and peaceful here he could just relax. There was an overturned tree which Jasper sat on cross legged breathing in the silence that filled his mind, when ever he needed to get away this was where he came, when the pains of the world, of his family and of his past became to much this was where he hid. It had taken him years to find the exact spot that was the perfect distance from civilization, the wind blew in the opposite direction making him harder for his family to track him here and it was so peaceful the only noise came from the occasional bird, so there was no thirst for blood from the people or animals around him.
Here Jasper felt he could be himself more than anywhere else, rolling his sleeves up, he lay back down on the log putting his hands behind his head, here there was no one to see the bite marks or the scratches, the evil that he had once been. Sometimes he wondered what he would have been if not for Alice, what would have happened to him if he had not left Maria and searched for a new life away from the violence, pain and suffering. What would have happened to him? These thoughts weighed on his mind majority of the time especially when he was alone and there was nothing else to feel he could still feel the fear of the newborns that he had murdered, it was something he knew he would never be able to run away from. He slowly rubbed his neck feeling the deep scars engraved into it from the hundred of fight he had been in, all the newborns that had tried to tear his head off and had come dangerously close too, he did not like focusing on the scars the horrible reminders that only Vampires could see, it made people scared of him this he knew, but Alice did not seem to mind them and as long as he she was in his future it seemed brighter.
She made him want to be a better man, made him want to change his past, so that he deserved her more because there was no way he deserved someone so perfect, so positive and so beautiful as she was, but despite feeling like he did not deserve her Jasper knew he would never be able to give her up or face loosing her, he knew he could not live without her. Thoughts of the Volturi flashed through his head, he knew Aro would use any ploy to get her to join his coven because he wanted her power more than anything, it could make him so much stronger being able to see what would happen to vampire’s everywhere it would make the Volturi almost unbeatable. Jasper knew one thing and that was he could not loose her to them, she kept him sane from turning back into the monster he really was and he loved her so much. His thoughts were interrupted by the snapping of a twig near by causing him to sit up straight in a flash looking for the cause of the sound.
