Caius is quite possibly the least liked of the Volturi leaders, and for good reason. He never extends mercy to anyone who breaks the laws of the Volturi, and is always an advocate for the most violent way of dealing with things. He enjoys watching people suffer, especially under Jane's power. If you've done anything to go against the Volturi's laws, he will gladly be the first to sign your death warrant. Where his brother Aro is a patient man, willing to wait to get what he wants, Caius is not so. He has very little patience for most things, and wants them to be done with all haste.
Caius has always been very opinionated, and he never fails to voice his opinions even when they are clearly unpopular. He is less manipulative than his brother, often preferring a more straightforward approach to things, more often than not one that ends in the deaths of any and all who go against the Volturi. He is a very ambitious man, so he feels quite satisfied with his position of power within the Volturi .

History ::[/i]
Caius was an only child during his human life. As a child he preferred his own company to the company of others, especially those younger than him. He was easily irritated when younger children insisted on spending time with him, and yelled at quite a few of the neighboring children over the years. Eventually Caius learned to branch out a bit, and made a few friends with boys his age. They held all sorts of controversial discussions, which was interesting for Caius because he was extraordinarily opinionated.
Caius does not often think about the man who turned him. They were only together for a few years before he was murdered, and while he is grateful to the man for turning him, he doesn't think of him as very important otherwise.
One of Caius' most life-changing moments happened shortly after he had a run in with the Romanian coven. While he was fleeing from the coven he met another vampire named Athenodora. He's not vapid enough to think it was love at first sight, but he was certainly very fond of her after they met. After that they began a courtship and began to travel together. Eventually the two met Aro and Marcus and they formed the beginnings of the Volturi. Caius doted on Athenodora, but after Marcus' mate Didyme died he and Aro guarded their wives much more closely, going so far as to keep them locked up in a tower and seldom letting them leave. Over the years the Volturi coven managed to wrestle power from the Romanians and decimate their coven. Since then the guard has expanded even more, and the Volturi have become the rulers of the vampire world.
During the recent debacle with the Cullen clan, it was Caius who most strongly advocated the destruction of the Cullen coven for their crimes. After seeing all the witnesses that the Cullens themselves gathered, as well as beings he first thought of as Children of the Moon, he felt rather threatened. He was outvoted by Aro and Marcus however, though it was clear that the meeting had not gone as Aro planned either, and he unhappily returned to Volterra. It is of some comfort to him that he did manage to kill at least the false witness, Irina. The foolish girl had tried to used them to get revenge on the Cullens for killing her mate, as if they cared about such petty squabbles.

Role Play Sample ::[/iIt had been a relatively calm day in Volterra thus far, so Caius was mildly surprised when he heard a loud thud echoed throughout the hallway. He watched as a familiar petite guard strode into the entrance hall, clearly trying to conceal some of her anger. He was quite fond of Jane really. Of all the guard, or at least all those he deemed important, he saw the most of himself in her. Disregarding their looks, the two could probably pass for father and daughter if he was ever struck by some inane desire to interact with humans as something other than a food source. Oddly enough seeing her angry made him feel calmer, as well as slightly amused.
"What has upset you so Jane?" He asked softly, wondering who had irked the small guard. He was not sure what she had been doing before she arrived, but he could not think of anything Aro might have asked her to do that might have upset her so. Well, whoever made her so angry, Caius hoped she taught him or her a lesson. Despite her size, Jane was quite a formidable vampire. You had to be either very stupid or very brave and determined, which he also thought of as stupidity for the most part, to know you were going to upset her and then do it anyway.
Nevertheless, despite her anger she was putting forth an admirable effort to retain her composure. Perhaps he'd have one of the lower guard find an unsuspected human for her to unleash her anger on later tonight. He would certainly enjoy watching that. At the moment he was just happy to have found someone else to talk to besides his fellow leader Aro, who always spouted such moronic drivel such as happy endings being so rare. If he were still human, he would surely want to vomit from hearing such things in Aro's annoyingly chipper voice. Of course, he knew the dark haired man did not mean it when such things most of the time, and merely said them to help accomplish his own ends, but that did not make them sound any less idiotic when he said them. Jane's mysterious ire was a welcome reprieve from hearing things like that, which made him all the more interested in it.][/blockquote]
