Today really hadn't been one of the best days she could have had. Ana had never really had to much trouble to deal with when it came to going through with school work and focusing on the like and whatnot, but for some reason today had been especially off. Her teachers had piled on one thing after the other, and although she had done projects like this last time they had been in Forks it was quite obvious that she wasn't any happier about doing it now as she had the last time.
For some reason she felt as if she were overwhelmed with the amount of work she had been given in one single day, despite never having really put much thought into schoolwork before. She was going to live the rest of her existence in a world that would be constantly passing her by, so why was it that she would have to focus on such trivial things such as a chemistry project over the different elements of the periodic table? No, she was fairly certain that she didn't have much of a reason to be focusing on such things. Well, she didn't want to was the more appropriate term to be using for that.
Regardless of what she thought of her schoolwork, though, Ana knew that Carlisle would push her to just continue doing her best in school as he often did. She had never really been able to place why it was that he encouraged them to do such activities despite the obvious outcome of never finding a way to go with what they learned anyways. True, he often reminded her to look at where he now stood himself in the world today, but that didn't mean she wanted to do something similar. She would have rather liked to travel and see the world, although deep down she knew she would never really be able to leave her family behind for such an leap.
Sighing softly as she moved up the steps to the house in a fluid motion, Ana tucked a lock of hair behind her ear, listening to the conversations going on here and there throughout the house. From what she could tell Esme and Rosalie were somewhere else in the house conversing with one another, but everyone else seemed to be out. It wasn't surprising that Alice and Jasper were gone, as well as Emmett. But what did surprise her was the faint stirrings of piano notes.
A small smile pulling at her lips, Ana tossed her bag on a bench near the door before continuing through the house towards the living room, following the sounds of the piano. As she entered the room she saw what she knew she would: Edward lost in the music as his fingers moved across the keys. In one fluid motion she had sped over to the bench beside him, laying her head against his shoulder as he continued to play. "You don't even realize how much I needed to hear you playing, Ed..." Ana murmured softly as he continued to play, knowing full well that he would hear her. "School is such a drag."
