Personality ::
Benjamin is a very generous and caring person he is always willing to help those who need it even if it involves going against the will of Amun. He is very confident, but this can be seen as carelessness he enjoys using his gift to entertain other people, it makes him feel better about himself to see his ability doing something good. Due to his slightly carefree nature, Benjamin is laid back his personality reflecting the fact that he still looks like a teenager sometimes he does not consider the implications his actions could have and can be a think first ask questions later sort of person, but he tries to remain level headed. The main problem with Benjamin can be his naivety, he did not see his uncle using him and his ability for money nor Amun wanting to use him as a weapon until his time with the Cullens. Despite this Benjamin is a very independent person and when he discovered Amun's true intentions makes it clear he does not want to be used as a weapon, he wants to use his ability for good reasons and not to hurt others unless they threaten Tia, his friends or himself.
Though Benjamin appreciates Amun and everything he has done for him, he wishes that he could live a proper life like other vampires and he dislikes that Amun kept him for a weapon only seeing his power instead of the person he really was. Overall Benjamin is extremely protective over his friends as they are all he really has and he is determined to stand up and fight to protect them.

Benjamin was born in the great Egyptian city of Cairo, he never knew his father who abandoned his mother before he was born and sadly lost his mother at the age of two so the only memories he has of her are from pictures he has seen. He came from a very poor family and with no parents he was raised by his extended family passed from person to person not really belonging to anyone until his uncle finally took him in. Benjamin was eleven when he first discovered his ability to control and manipulate fire, though he was fascinated by his gift he knew that it could be deadly, so it frightened him to try using it and so he choose to keep it hidden from his family. Under his uncle's guidance Benjamin became a street performer doing anything from dancing and singing to pick pocketing for money, Benjamin's uncle was the first person to discover Benjamin's ability of controlling the elements. He used this to their advantage and taught him a variety of tricks which people would pay handsomely to see this made Benjamin a powerful asset to hiss uncle and he became a very profitable member of the family.
Whilst in his uncle's care Benjamin grew close to a young girl named Tia, she was the very first person he demonstrated his ability to manipulate fire and it was she who suggested he showed it to his uncle. The two of them also stashed a small amount of money to go towards a secret fund of theirs so that one day the two of them could run away together. Benjamin's shows began to attract more and more attention from both the mortal and immortal world, it was at one of his shows that Benjamin met Amun who subsequently murdered his uncle and transformed Benjamin into a vampire, in the hope that his ability would be made stronger as a vampire. The transformation is one of the most painful things Benjamin could remember, but at least being a vampire he felt part of a coven of people who actually wanted him instead of with his own family who had tossed him about until he had made money. When he became a vampire Benjamin's ability was magnified allowing him to control all four elements, fire, water, earth and air though to begin with he had limited control over them. Benjamin was originally oblivious to the true reason Amun changed him which was to be used potentially as a weapon against them, when he discovered this he was angry and made it clear that he refused to be treated like a weapon and would not use his powers for this.
For five years Benjamin was kept in Amun's secret undiscovered temple, he understood that Amun was doing this for his own safety, but Benjamin did not like being locked up and having no company except for when he was brought food. He spent the majority of his time practicing using his ability trying to give himself total control over each of the elements, practicing his own entertaining tricks as well as playing music or gazing out of the only window he had watching the birds fly free and dreaming of a better life. He also spent his time getting a proper education, teaching himself to read and write, as soon as he had mastered this in both English and Egyptian he began to read more and more, fascinated in particular by world history even if it did exclude knowledge of vampires and their activities. Benjamin began to look forward to Amun's regular visits when they would train his ability and he would always bring a new book for him which Benjamin would devour quickly. As he learnt more about the world it made him want to engage in the world more and more, but Amun refused to let him leave the temple much to Benjamin's disappointment.
During these years of isolation Benjamin thought a lot about Tia wondering what had happened to her or if she was suffering or whether she was even still alive, he attempted to persuade Amun to let him go and find her, but he was refused. Angry and desperate Benjamin knowing the temple inside out and back to front escaped and began to track down his love, it took him several months to find that she had been married off to an influential business man. After going to the house she now lived at and seeing her Benjamin was content in the knowledge that she was safe and well, but upon seeing him Tia was determined to go with him and after realising that their old feelings for one another were still there Benjamin explained everything that had happened and about how he was a vampire. What surprised him most was that Tia wanted to become a vampire to keep him company and protect him from the Volturi that would be after his ability, using all his will power Benjamin transformed Tia.
With Tia now a vampire Benjamin returned to Amun's temple and was welcomed back, Benjamin had proved that Amun could not have total control over him and Amun not wanting to loose him or his ability welcomed Tia and him back to the coven. Where with Tia for company Benjamin's life improved he still however wished for more freedom to travel and see the world instead of only Amun's secret temple. Though the two of them look like teenagers, after being together for almost a century the two of them decided to get married, even though they knew there was nobody who could come between them they just wanted it to be settled that they would be together, the ceremony was very small as neither of them had many friends outside of the Egyptian Coven, but that did not matter to them as long as they were together.
When the Cullen Family asked the Egyptian Coven for their help Benjamin immediately wanted to go explaining he would leave with or without Amun, who reluctantly followed him and Tia to America. Upon meeting Renesmee and seeing that Carlisle's story was true and that she was not in fact an immortal child Benjamin agreed to stand with them against the Volturi, he had been hiding from this group for all his life and he wanted to finally see what he was up against as well as help this family. Benjamin was fascinated by Renesmee's abilities and her rapid growth, he enjoyed entertaining her using his ability and tricks he had learnt from his uncle. There was however tension between Amun and Carlisle who believed that Carlisle was trying to steal Benjamin from him, Benjamin quickly stopped these arguments threatening to leave the Egyptian Coven forever if Amun did not stop with his wild accusations. It angered Benjamin to see that Amun viewed him more as a possession than as an actual person, whether Amun liked it or not he had already made the decision to stand with the Cullens and nothing he said was going to change his mind, Benjamin was aware of the risks he was taking, but he had lived in fear of the Volturi all his life he did not want to be collected nor did he want to sit by and do nothing as he watched them collect others, so he agrees to fight to protect their freedom. Benjamin enjoyed his time with the Cullen's and the wide variety of vampires that had also chosen to stand with them because here he was treated like a person
During the confrontation with the Volturi he was offered a position amongst them on the guard which he quickly refused, when Aro attempted to have Chelsea force him and several others to join them Bella's ability shielding him and protecting him from Chelsea's ability, this something that Benjamin feels in debt to her and he hopes one day he can make it up to her. In Alice's vision of the future which she shows to Aro, Benjamin's position with the Cullens gives them a distinct advantage as he opens a gorge in the ground all the way to the centre of the earth and uses his gift to instantly burn the Volturi that are torn apart. Thankfully this does not happen and the Volturi leave peacefully, Benjamin returns to Egypt with his coven he however guarantees the Cullens that if the Volturi attempt to avenge this day in the future he will always stand with them against them if the time ever comes.
After the events with the Cullen’s Benjamin began to doubt his position in the Egyptian Coven seeing the way that Amun did not respect him as a person and treated him as an object in his position, he preferred the way the other vampires in the coven’s had treated him especially Carlisle. Now fifty years after this day Benjamin is reluctantly still a loyal to the Egyptian Coven, but no longer stays with them after Aro discovered his ability it was decided it was no longer safe for him to remain with them in Egypt. With the threat that Aro and Chelsea might turn up and try to force him to join the Volturi, now that they know about his gift and how strong it could make them. Benjamin now moves around a lot not settling somewhere for to long he has chosen to try to stick to a vegetarian diet because that makes him harder to track as there are no random killings, but at times it can be hard to stick to. They have moved from town to town taking simple jobs, they spent quite a few years working with a circus which was one of Benjamin's favourite years he enjoyed getting back into entertaining people it also gave the two of them a good in come, but he has had to work very hard to stay one step ahead of the Volturi.

Benjamin quickly slipped his hand into Tia's as they came to a halt, the two of them had been running for hours and were pausing for a rest, he slowly paused to admire her. There really was no other girl in the world like Tia, this was not her war, not her fight to be involved in and still she had accepted this life to spend time with him. Instead she could have had a normal life of riches and growing older, but instead she was travelling from country to country with him on the run from some of the most powerful vampires around. It made him feel special to think that she had chosen this life for him, so that she could be with him and she made his life worth living all the years in Amun's secret temple had been so lonely without anyone, she had made it all more bearable for him be being around. Sometimes he just did not know how she could have chosen the life he had given her she deserved so much more, she deserved a proper life and he wished he could give that to her.
Instead the two of them were running through the wilderness keeping under the radar as much as possible, seeking out old friends and making new ones. This was the life Benjamin had wished for and now it was here despite the feelings of freedom, he could not help but miss the warm safe feeling that came with Amun's secret temple. At least now he could see the world he had read about and experience the wonders of the worlds. As they moved down the ragged rock edge Benjamin slowly moved the rocks making it easier for Tia to keep up with him, he used his power subtly not wanting her to know he was helping, he liked watching her smile with bride as she did it all herself. "There is a village not to far from here" He told her when the reached the bottom of the rocky hill side, he could smell the scent of human blood already more than anything he longed to feed of them, but it was a risky thing to do it made them easier to track and follow if they left a string of murders, so as best he could he tried to stick to animal blood. ”Let’s try not to relapse shall we” Benjamin teased admiring her beautiful red eyes, this new diet was difficult for both of them, but they were trying their best which was what mattered to him. Taking her hand the two of them headed down towards the forest in the distant, they walked slowly at human pace they had been working on trying to fit in more with humans which was almost as hard as trying not to eat them.
As soon as they reached the tree’s Benjamin let go of her hand to grab one of the lower branches and haul himself up, he began to jump acrobatically from branch to branch, climbing higher as he did. Pausing for a second he saw Tia still watching him ”Come on then slow poke” He teased before turning and climbing higher, he loved the sensation of the wind running through his hair as he jumped from branch to branch, if freedom had a feeling then in Benjamin’s opinion this must be it.
