Jacob Black stared up at the beautiful home of the Cullens as he padded towards it. It had been too long since he had seen the vampires, who in Jake's mind, were practically family, considering he was imprinted with their niece or daughter... Jake's wolf face cracked into a slight grin, when he remembered the first time he had been inside the Cullen's home. It was different being one of the only shifters inside their house, other then Seth. The 17 year old wolf shook his head; He couldn't think about the past, he needed to warn the Cullens. His whole body tensed as he fought the urge to look around.
The huge russet wolf shifted into a tall 17 year old boy, as he climbed up the steps of the Cullen house. Jake ran a hand through his short black hair before knocking on the huge wooden door. Jake was unsure if he could just open the door and walk in, but that didn't help his thinking. He waited for an answer, hoping to speak with Carlisle. He had to warn them of the other pack.

The knock at the door caught Carlisle by surprise he was not really expecting anyone today, everyone else seemed to be out somewhere doing something. Putting his pen down and shuffling his papers together he left his office heading to the front door as he got closer he picked up on the scent of a wolf, he had run into quite a few wolves recently and he was wondering which one was visiting him here. Pulling the door open a smile broke across his face at the sight of Jacob Black, "Jake come in" Pulling the door open wide so he could enter, he was a little curious as to why Jacob was here he usually was around when Nessie was staying with them, but she was away with her parents today.
"Nessie is out I'm afraid, is there anything I can help you with?" Jacob was like another son to Carlisle he had helped the family so much, defended them against his own kind to help Bella and Edward, he could not help but feel like he owed Jacob for everything he had done. Out of all the members in the family Carlisle had been one of the few he did not mind him imprinting on Renesmee, he had a few suspicions about his relationship with Bella when she had been pregnant, but with his lack of knowledge on werewolf ways he had not said anything. He smiled at Jacob gesturing him to move into the living room, where they could sit down he could see that Jacob seemed to be serious and Carlisle could not help but wonder if he came here with a different intention.

Jake ran a hand through his hair again, nervously. Maybe they might be out hunting, or something.. His mind raced until the sound of the door opening send Jake out of his thoughts. "Hello Carlisle.. Thank you..." The 17 year old nodded slightly, hearing Nessie was away. He had heard that his imprint was with her parents for the weekend, not that he minded, but he did miss her like crazy.
" Yes, I heard... I was actually hoping to talk to you..." The 17 year old sat down on one of the couches, watching the man closely. He always felt safe in the presences of the Cullens, maybe because they were like family. After his father passed on, Jake lived alone in his empty cabin in La Push.

Carlisle observed as Jacob took a seat and took his own opposite him observed him curious as to what it was he wanted to talk about, he understood that Jacob had been lonely since the loss of his father and Carlisle was glad to be there for the boy understanding that his father was glad for him to have someone to go to with an outside view. "Oh .. How can I help then?" Different events and situations went through his head wondering what he was curious about, he hoped it was nothing to do with the ball it had been giving him trouble ever since he heard about it and Aro asking Jasper to help out had definitely caused a rift in the family.
If only Rosalie was not so quickly to judge and get angry she had been giving Jasper hell ever since she found out that he had agreed to it, sometimes she did not see the bigger picture as much as he tried to explain it to her, the worrying thing was that not even Enmett could get to her. If this had been what Aro had wanted then he had succeed hopefully after the event she would be able to understand and forgive her brother, even though he had done nothing wrong but be in Aro's eye. Pulling his thoughts away from his troubled family he focused on Jacob and why he wanted his help.

Jake hated having to worry his second family, but it had to be done. He was even worried for his pack. Leah was the only one who else knew about it, and she was stressing out over it." Carlisle, we have a problem... Leah has warned me of another pack... another shifter pack... We're unsure who they are, but there have been sightings of them in the area... I thought I would warn you and your family.." Jake ran a hand through his short cropped black hair. He hated feeling so on edge. He had already spoke to Alice about the shifters, but he hadn't been able to talk to Carlisle. The 17 year old studied the vampire, waiting for his reaction.

Jacob made his concern obvious as he spoke about this knew pack, he was worried about the shifters actions against his family and it pleased Carlisle to know that Jacob was looking out for his family. Though this made Carlisle wonder whether it was the same shifters he had met a few days ago, that Jasper seemed to have mentioned, they did seen particularly resentful towards vampires for what reason exactly he was not sure. There seemed to be quite a few of them in this pack as far as he was aware, but a new pack meant possible territorial problems for not only them but Jacobs pack as well.
"Interesting, I did have an encounter with a shifter a few days ago he was unfamiliar to me so he might have been one of this new pack" this was curious to him from what he had learned about these packs they needed some help and it was possible that Jacob with his experience he might be able to provide, "Thank you for the warning, you we right to suspect they were against my presence and other vampires from my experience" it was true he had got several threats and the shifter was most certainly aggressive towards him.

Jake's head snapped upright when Carlisle said he had an encounter with another shifter, who seemed new to Forks. The hair on Jake's neck rose as he returned his attention to the vampire,"Did you catch a name, Carlisle or learn anything of them?" Jake asked, studying the older vampire. He hated having to worry and considering this was now his family, he needed to protect them. "How did this shifter react to you, Carlisle?" The 17 year old had many questions, but knew it wouldn't help. He needed to think logically about this.

Jacob's surprise amused Carlisle greatly, it looked as though a million questions were flashing through his mind as he spoke, so Carlisle choose to answer quickly "Lucas Jackson his name was and I am lead to believe that the pack is made up of his siblings. To be honest he seemed very aggressive initially to my presence similar to the way you were at first, he mentioned a personal attack on his family by a vampire which has lead to his hatred to our kind, for which he held me and every vampire responsible"
This was true the werewolf had directed all these repressed emotions towards vampires at Carlisle he obviously seemed to have a great resentment towards them, that Carlisle understood one of their kind had hurt his family it was hard to let go of those sort of things. Carlisle knew that if it was his family that had been attacked by a shifter he would find it very hard to move on from this anger, but he was older and very different to other people and could let go of his anger easily. "He was interested in the other packs in the area, I think he thought they were the only ones around in the area I think he did began to warm to me towards the end as I explained about us not being like other vampires which seemed to put his mind at ease slightly"

Jake wanted to grin at himself. He probably sounded like a fool, but he was worried and worry wasn't a good thing to Jake. "Thank you Carlisle... t least I know a name and what to expect.." The 17 year old's eyebrows raised slightly as the vampire spoke about aggressive nature that was shown towards him from the shifter. "That is understandable though... Being a vampire and all... No offence, Carlisle," The 17 year old spoke quickly, hoping he didn't offend the vampire.
Jake nods slightly, "It's good he was slightly at ease afterwards... " The werewolf nodded. After the war between San and the Cullens, Jake did not want a repeat of that.

Carlisle shook his had as Jacob thanked him "There is no need to thank me, I was going to seek you out about it anyway" It was true Jacob was a great leader and his concern for their family but Carlisle's mind at ease, he was glad that Renesmee had settled all problems they had once had Carlisle preferred living in peace that to the agreement they had previously all hostility was now gone. As Jacob went on to speak about how he understood this new shifters resentment towards vampires he nodded "None taken, it is as you said understandable that they have this resentment towards us, but I think they might need watching Jacob. The pack is a family they all seem around teenagers and well from what I know about young teenage shifters is that they can be unpredictable. With their feelings towards us taken into account, I fear they might act hot headedly and well you know what Emmett can be at times, I fear they might accidentally set something off"
It had been good that Lucas had grown to accept him slightly during their conversation, it had relaxed Carlisle slightly to know that they stood some chance of coming to a peaceful agreement between them "I was wondering what you plan towards this new pack is?" Carlisle was curious to see if he intended to go after them and seek peace with the group or wait and see how they reacted to the news that they were not alone in this part of the country. It was a difficult matter and would have to be treated delicately if this other pack felt threatened in any way it would make them difficult to deal with and harder to reason it would also make them more likely to respond with violence to any peace offers they made.

Jake's mouth curled upward slightly as Carlisle spoke about seeking him after the encounter. The 17 year old shape-shifter understood Carlisle thinking. As the 17 year old listened to Carlisle, A small grin crossed his face at the mention of Emmett and hot-head. He knew how the younger (older then him, but younger then Carlisle) vampire acted and remembered back when he had just figured out he was a shape-shifter. Jake nodded in agreement,"I understand, Carlisle... I promise to be careful..." The werewolf was not about to do something stupid and get himself hurt or worse killed, over some new pack.
"That what I was hoping to talk to you about," Jake asked, taking in a deep breath,"I should tell Sam, but I'm worried if I do, he might set off and wage war against this other pack, like he did against you, after Bella became pregnant with Nessie.... I'm unsure how to approauch them, without worrying or starting a war... I was hoping to have a peaceful meeting, but the way you describe this Lucas, I'm a bit unsure." Jake watched Carlisle, waiting to hear the vampire's reply.

Carlisle nodded as Jacob spoke about his doubts with dealing the pack, it was true that Sam could be a little quick to judge and hot headed at times quite similar to this male he had met from the new pack at least they would have something in common to talk about. He understood Jacob's misgivings about approaching the pack, but if it was done in the correct way then Carlisle was sure they could keep the peace between the three packs and his coven. "Personally I think Sam has to be told, I may be wrong but I think this person they lost to a vampire was most likely a parent and if that is the case it could just be a group of teenage shifters which would make them more of a threat not only to us, but to your packs as well"
Carlisle ran a hand through his hair as he thought a bad habit he had got to from his time in hospitals and attempting to act more human, "I think they need to be approached with the upmost amount of care, I doubt Sam would start a war he can be hot headed, but he isn't stupid. You need to make sure he is open minded towards this new pack and approach them peacefully if you act aggressively they are most likely to respond with aggression" This was being a little hasty, they did not know very much about the group except for the fact they were a family of shifters and though they were a threat none of them would have any idea what they were walking into. "Firstly we should try to learn a little more about them since at the moment, that might get Sam on board peacefully just observe them until we know how many of them there are around and how best to actually approach them" The most important part of this operation would be keeping Sam relaxed towards them and approaching peacefully, Carlisle did hope that this was all possible.

Jake nodded as he listened to Carlisle. He felt better now that he had spoken to the vampire. As Carlisle spoke about the teens having lost a parent, Jake grimaced. He had a bad feeling that it was true. He almost growled as Carlisle spoke about the teens being a threat, not just to the Cullen's, but to the packs. "That's what I'm hoping to avoid, Carlisle...."
Jake nodded as Carlisle explaind his thoughts and what they should do about this new pack. Jake was secretly thankful that Carlisle was here. The 17 year old shifter nodded, " That sounds like it would be the best.... I was going to head over to Sam's after I was done here..."

Carlisle nodded at Jacob's response "Well it will be of interest to you that they also wanted to know more about your pack, so I am still hopeful for the chance of their being peace between you all" It would be good to have all of the packs in the area united, it would be even better to have them all under one leader but Carlisle knew that was impossible from what he had learnt from watching the way the wolves interacted they all had their true allegiances be it to Jacob or Sam asking them all to look to only one as a leader might cause more harm than it would prevent. "Let us hope that Sam can keep an open mind" His thoughts could not help but shift back to the birth of Renesmee how quick they had been to hate and when they had to fight of the werewolves to prevent them from killing her, though times had changed a lot since then Carlisle still hoped that Sam would not approach this new pack the way he had with him originally.
"I am sure it will be easy to avoid violence and anger, from what I know of them I am sure we can come to a peaceful agreement or at least I hope" Maybe Carlisle was always to quick to hope for peace he had always been a peaceful person seeking that sort of alternative to violence any day and sometimes he knew there was not always a peaceful way out, but he liked to think if they looked hard enough than one was there. Though it was not his business to get involved in what happened between new packs, if they asked him to step him he would, but Carlisle was more than happy to leave them to try and work this out on their own. Especially since this new Jackson Pack as Carlisle was calling it had a prejudice towards their kind then the last thing they needed was to think that vampires muddled in the decisions of the packs, so with this in mind he was happy to take a step back unless it came to them threatening his family only then would he get involved.

Jake knew Carlisle was thinking about the birth of Renesmee. His mind started to race before he gave his head a mental shake.
The 17 year old nodded as Carlisle commented on avoiding violence. He could only hope Sam would have an open mind. Jake smiled slightly at the vampire,"Thank you, Carlisle... This really helped..." He knew a few years ago, he never would guess he would be applogizing to a vampire, but now, it just seemed natural to.
