Carlisle smiled and nodded "Anything to help and keep people safe Jacob" That was what he did and Carlisle would do anything and everything to protect his small family after centuries of being alone they were all he had and he doubted any of them really knew how much they meant to him. They had all taught him so much and helped him grow into the person he was today, they had made him more tolerable over other people's emotions, taught him how to disband arguments and shown him his way of life was worth believing in, that he was someone worth following and trusting even if at times they did disagree in the end they were always there for each other.
"If there is ever anything I can do to help Jacob let me know" Carlisle made a point of going down to visit the Uley pack latter and speaking to Sam himself hopefully Jacob will have spoken to him by then but since Carlisle was the first person to have contact with the group, he was sure Sam would have questions and he wanted to be there to help answer any of the ones that he could. "Sam is a reasonable person Jacob, I'm sure we do not have to worry" Or at least that was the impression Carlisle had of the leader of the other pack, in the past yes they had their problems but Carlisle understood that he was trying to protect his family in the same way Carlisle had been his. At least now there was peace between them and Carlisle actually enjoyed the conversations he and Sam had from time to time, the man was a good leader that was obvious and he like Carlisle showed some interest for the other species learning as much as they could about the other.
