Nothing could stop him, he was like a machine created to hunt, no creature could stand against him, yes Edward was quick and Emmett was strong, but Jasper was experienced, he had been hunting more competent things than deer for a lot longer than the other two. Slipping quickly through the trees it did not take Jasper long to catch the deer, he watched it try to speed away in fear trying to outrun the monster, but the poor thing stood no chance. Deep down Jasper felt a little bad for having to kill the creature, but in his opinion it was better than becoming a proper monster and feasting on the blood of humans. It was something Jasper hoped he would never have to go back to, even though the thirst was difficult and he wanted to give in more than ever, he did not want to be a monster not any more.
Getting ahead of the deer Jasper stopped in front of it watching as fear filled its eyes and it turned to head in the other direction, but Jasoer once again blocked its path. "I'm sorry, but it's better this way" he muttered as he lunged at the deer, holding it down and snapping the poor beasts neck, mountain bears or lions were more fun to tease, but Jasper could see sadness in the eyes if deeds and felt the need to kill them quickly. There was not much to be taken from a deer but it was enough to satisfy Jaspers thirst for now, standing over his kill Jasper felt the effects if the new blood flowing through his system. He was about to turn to leave when something curious stopped him, emotions were easy to pull apart and explain their patterns were different for each person and this pattern was familiar in an odd sense. Pausing he twisted around "Who's there?" Jaser prepare himself for whoever it might be watching him, it could be anything werewolf, Volturi or even a rogue vampire, but whoever it was there was something familiar about them and this frightened Jasper even more.

It had been quite a while since she'd been in the United States. The last time she had dragged her coven here it was to see what all the fuss of the Civil War was about. She had come to the dissenting side of the Americas, the Confederacy, figuring that the side that was trying to break apart would be more interesting to see, and it was. She had watched the struggle between the two sides go on for some time before she eventually met some more of her kind, Maria and a few of her army. She found it quite amusing to thing that the southerners were oblivious to another war happening right under their noses. Well, people only saw what they wanted to she supposed.
Jolene came to a halt when she smelled another of her kind close by. Perhaps they were hunting? If so she probably shouldn't disturb them. She was about to turn around and go the other way when she heard a familiar voice call out. It can't be... She thought to herself as she walked toward where the voice had come from. Sure enough, a familiar head of blond hair came into view. "My my, Major Jasper Whitlock. It has been a while." She said with a small smile. What an odd coincidence, to meet him just when she was thinking about him. What was the saying now? Speak of the devil? "What have you been up to? Not with Maria anymore I see. I'm glad, I never got the impression that you liked it there much. So have you found a new coven then?" She asked, wondering what had become of the man in front of her since they last saw each other. With some suprise, she noticed that his eyes were not red anymore, but gold. Had he been feeding from animals then? That both was and wasn't a shock. It wasn't a very common practice, even now, but she couldn't bring herself to be too surprised that he had chosen the alternative to hurting humans. Just as long as he didn't expect her to do the same, she wouldn't say anything about it.

Jasper turned to face the figure that entered the clearing, immediately recognising her Jolene Issacs a small smile krept on to his lips as she to recognised him "Ms Issacs, it's a pleasure to see you again" he motioned to tip an imaginary hat as a sign of courtesy to her, something he had always done back then he relaxed a little the two of them had been quite good friends when he meet her back during the Civil War times, back in his old life. Back when he was a monster manipulated by Maria, oh how he had grown and changed since then, but it still frightened him to remember, to think about his old life, despite this it was good to see an old friend. Jolene proceeded to bombard him with questions which made him smile even more he could feel her curiosity about him and his new life and it was a bit odd to have someone feel this much interest about him.
"Yeah, my life has changed a lot since then" Just the mention of Maria's name made him feel a little sick, but he was a master of masking his emotions keeping up the casual smile "I left her coven a long time ago and travelled around for awhile, untill I met someone that changed my life! ... now I'm part of the Cullen Coven here in Forks and well I've changed a lot, no longer feed from humans" he indicated to the dead deer on the ground, that was probably the newest thing about him "What about you? Still travelling around or finally settled somewhere?" Jasper was not quite sure what to say to her, what to ask? It had been ages possibly half a century since he had last seen her, by the look of it she had not changed a bit, but then again neither had he when it came to appearance except maybe a few more ghastly scars than their last encounter. It made him curious as to how much her life had changed, if it had changed at all, what had she done since her visit to America last time they had met.

Jolene smiled at the man in front of her and gave him a brief curtsy when he tipped his imaginary hat. "I can see that. You look much better, much happier than you were. I'm glad." She told him fondly. Back during Civil War times the other vampire had normally seemed quite depressed, and while she could still see some of that in him he looked much happier with his life than she remembered. A teasing smile came to her lips as he told her about his life since leaving Maria. "Someone who changed your life hmm? Sounds like Jasper's found a mate! How adorable. What's she like?" She cooed, laughing on the inside. She was happy for him, she really was. She couldn't imagine what she'd do without her mate.
So he was a member of the Cullen coven. She wasn't quite sure how to feel about that. On one hand, she'd heard they were a very caring group of people, which made her happy for him. On the other hand though, she knew that particular coven had a...debacle with the Volturi not too long ago, which meant Jasper might be in some danger. "Well that's interesting. What are they like, your new coven?" She asked politely, not wanting to offend her old friend. So he truly didn't feed from humans anymore, she had been right. Well, since he was a member of the Cullen coven that made sense. They all fed from animals didn't they? She was a bit taken aback when the focus of their conversation turned to her. It wasn't often that people asked her questions about herself. "Oh, I'm still traveling around. I've been to quite a few places now, but I do prefer Europe." She answered easily, recalling the places she had been since she last saw him. "This is the first time I've been back to America since I met you though. I'm glad we ran into each other again."

Jasper smiled when Jolene said he looked better, he felt so much better than he had all those years ago in Maria's coven he was a different person now and he preferred the person he had become, it was someone he was proud of in comparison to the monster he had once been. Her teasing about his wife made him chuckle, of course Jolene wanted to know more about her that was what she was like, he felt a little embarrassed and if he was still human his cheeks would be a bright shade of red. "Her name is Alice and well she is the kindest most positive person I have ever met, which really helps with a power like mine, I guess I was drawn to her joy and she understands me in a way nobody else does" Jasper did not really know what to say how to describe Alice to her there were so many wonderful things about her that he did not know where to begin, what he should say and what he shouldn't. Jolene moved on to ask about his coven which was an easier question to answer "They are very peaceful people, which is good for me. It's great really, not having to fight just to exist, I'm actually part of a family for once, I have parents who care and siblings who look out for me."
It was true even now jasper found it a little odd to have this family, did he really deserve to have such a great family he had done some horrible things in his life as a vampire and yet it seemed that it had just got better when he found Alice, she was just such a wonderful person that he had to wonder if he truly deserved her. As Jolene spoke about still travelling he smiled and nodded, he had hoped she would be able to settle down since he had seen her last, but everyone was not as lucky as he had been obviously she enjoyed her life travelling around and he did not blame her, "I agree it is great to see you again, so what brought you back to the USA then? Just needed a change of pace? Got bored of boring old Europe" He teased her Europe was not that boring he was sure, but the way everyone talked about it sometimes it was great to tease like that "Come on then Jolene tell me about your life, what have you been up to? It seemed fair he had told her about his life he wanted to hear a little bit about what she had been up to since their last meeting.

Well he obviously loved his mate, whoever she was. "She sounds great. Maybe you could introduce us sometime?" Jolene suggested, curious about the woman her old friend had fallen for. "How did the two of you meet?" She wondered aloud. She listened as he described his new coven, nodding when he mentioned that it was nice not having to fight to exist any longer. "Yes, you didn't seem to enjoy your life doing so with Maria much. It's nice that you found a peaceful family for a change. You said you had siblings? How many of you are there?" She asked. She heard from other covens she encountered along her travels that the Cullen coven was unusually large, but she didn't know how many members it held.
And now he was trying to focus the attention back on her, she should have expected that. She rolled her eyes at his questions. "Europe is not boring Jasper! It's my favorite continent! Actually my mate wanted to come here, he wanted to see how much the United States had changed since we last came here." Had Jasper even met Mark last time? She tried to remember if he had ever come with her to see Maria's army, but she couldn't remember him doing so. It seemed like he had always stayed behind with her brother. Hmmm. Well perhaps they could meet this time around. "I haven't been doing much really, just traveling the world, making new friends, same old same old. I'm just so popular!" She said jokingly.
"What about you Jazzy, what have you been doing? Staying out of trouble I hope?" She asked the blond in front of her. Now that he wasn't with Maria anymore he probably had a lot more freedom to choose what he wanted to do in his free time. When she thought about it, she really didn't have any clue what she liked to do in his free time, he was doing things for Maria so often. Yeah, he was definitely better off with his new coven, no matter how strange the were. She thought as she glanced down at the dead dear before looking back up at her old friend. Still, feeding off animal blood? Really?

Jasper nodded slowly "I would love to introduce you to her at some point" Thinking about it Alice probably knew Jolene was around, she probably did not know exactly who she was, but she had probably see their conversation occurring, she asked a few more questions about Alice which he was happy to answer "Well I left Maria's coven and bumped into her in a diner and well we started talking and just hit it off from there, to be honest it was quite good she was a vampire as well otherwise I have no idea how that would have turned out" Jasper joked, he did not want to really explain what had truly happened with Alice's ability knowing he was going to turn up, but to be fair excluding that point he really had told her the truth.
It was difficult not to laugh at Jolene's protests of Europe not being boring he was going to fight the point but he heard something else much more interesting "Mate?" He looked at her eye brows raised "So you also have someone i that new? or just I did not meet them before" This pleased Jasper to hear that she had a mate, he was sure it could be good for her to have someone, that he was sure she also spoke about how she had been travelling the world and making new friends that seemed like the Jolene thing to do in his opinion. Her calling him Jazzy made him chuckle as much as he didn't want to he could imagine the first time they met it had not taken her long to call him Jazzy. "Well I can't say I have stayed out of trouble" He joked it was true he really had not with their families encounter with the new born army and with the volturi twice "I have actually been quite boring in comparison to you, I became quite an academic really been in and out of college, it sounds quite boring really but it has been something I wanted to do, never really learnt anything other then violence in Maria's coven" It did sound boring, but he was quite a scholar and learning for him was just fantastic even if he was learning the same things over and over again, it still was brilliant for him he had probably read every book they owned at least a hundred times, but they never got bored to him. "I have got boring haven't I" Jasper teased "but tell me more about this mate of yours?" Jasper continued to tease Joleen, "What's he like?"
