Jane had been sulking in her chambers because she could not find either Master Aro or her brother Alec. She wondered if they went on a mission without her. Even with the bond she had with her brother they did tend to do things without the other one. They had some traits that were different from the other. That was what made them unique and how people could tell them apart. Jane heard a knock on the door and she went to the door. She had the thought" It had better not be one of the lower ranking peasants or i am going to kill them." As she opened the chamber door she saw that what she had thought came true. She was furious to have her time being furious be interrupted by a lower ranking peasant vampire. Jane asked in a furious voice" What do you want and it better be good” They replied “ Master Aro left a message for us to give to you. Jane said” Well what is it? I do not have all day “The guy said” He wants you to meet him and Alec in the throne room immediately.”
Jane gave the guard a demeaning look as she brushed by him. The guard did not do anything that would bring any trouble to him because he knew what Jane could do. Jane continued to walk down the hall and as she walked past the guards they did not move one bit. Jane had arrived at the throne room and saw master Aro and Alec standing by Aro's chair talking to each other. Jane asked “You summoned me Master?"

Marcus sat silently in his throne listening to Aro and Alec talking to each other about something he really didn't care much of. He sat silent in the massive dark room waiting for everyone to arrive. He didn't have anything new to read and just sat looking around the room. The walls were as stone cold almost like a cold cell that he always thought of himself to be in. After a while of waiting he noticed that Jane entered the room. Young but deadly to your nerves, he sighed quietly and watched her walked over to Aro as she normally does. She asked a question but Aro did seem to busy and as usual Marcus got that feeling like he had to answer a question for him.
He looked up at Jane and spoke in his usual low monotone voice, “Hello Jane... we have called a meeting...” Marcus spoke and waited for her response patiently, wondering if him answering would shock her at all, to the lower guards it always shocked them. Although knowing Jane it would probably not scare her. He sighed and wondered what this meeting will end up like, the guards did make things more interesting.

I REMEMBER WHEN WE BROKE UP THE FIRST TIME • saying,"this is it, I’ve had enough," 'cause like • WE HADN'T SEEN EACH OTHER IN A MONTH Meeting's. It was no Secret that before any action is set in motion Aro would summon the Volturi, It could be for trivial matters and other times for major issues that involved the Volturi as a Coven. Most of the Guard would be in or around the Castle going about their Duties, as well as relaxing how each member wished. For Aro that would mean reading and admiring his collection of books and trinkets, that he had collected over his lifetime.
Aro Was at present already within the hall, but his mind was lost in thought about their most recent encounter with the Cullen’s, and what impact it would have in the days to come. He would have to watch them closely and adapt when required. Aro for once in his life was unsure of how to proceed. “ Carlisle... Old Friend I hope for the sake of your Coven. and our way of life, that you know what you let Transpire that day. .” Aro spoke to himself, before snapping back to the present moment. " Alec.. you have done well on your mission."
He then had began to notice that member of the Guard had began to arrive; and as always Jane was the first to appear. bu this time her Brother was already Present. She and Alec had become like a Son and Daughter to him and his beloved Wife. He cared deeply for them both; but more so for young Jane. “Hello Jane... we have called a meeting” Aro looked and listened as his brother Marcus addressed Jane. Marcus was always ready to step in when needed; that is one quality Aro had seen within him.
“Forgive me Dear one... and Brother, My mind was elsewhere” He looked at Jane and smiled as he sat in his throne “So Dear one. Tell me, how goes your duties now that we are back within our home and between friends..” Aro knew Jane had Wished to fight. But the loss of what that battle would cost him would spell the end for the Volturi and his own life. “Brother. I have recently acquired a book that I believe you will find interesting. I have took the Liberty of placing it within your desk. He returned his gaze to the others in the room.

Renata stood in her usual place just behind Aro, holding gently onto part of his jacket while she thought. Ever since that day in the clearing, she knew her master had been troubled. It had seemed strange to her when one of the Denali clan had come to them and told the masters that the Cullen coven had made an immortal child. When he had stayed with them, Carslile did not seem like the kind of person who would condone that sort of thing. Master Aro had seen her memories however, and there had indeed been a strange child, so they had gathered the guard along with their witnesses and gone to investigate. As it turned out, the child had not been what they thought, but a vampire/human hybrid. She had not believed such a thing could exist at first, until the future seeing Cullen had entered the clearing with another one behind her. What an unfortunate situation that turned out to be. Probably the most problematic coven had gained a new member, as well as the support of the shape shifters. She knew it was not a nice thought, but she couldn't help but think that they should have gotten rid of Isabella Cullen when she came here the first time. She had only caused trouble since then.
It was time to put such thoughts aside however, at least for the moment. This meeting wasn't about the Cullen coven as far as she was aware, and she didn't want to upset everyone by bringing them up. Renata glanced at the doors when they swung open to allow Jane entry and smiled. She had always adored the blond haired 'witch twin', she was like a little sister to her. She glanced at Aro concerned as he apologized to Jane, saying that his mind was elsewhere. "Is something wrong Master?" She inquired softly, tightening her grip on his jacket. Renata had always been a bit of a worrywart, and the idea that something could be troubling her master and father figure did not make her a happy camper.

Alec's smile was one of lightheartedness as the other members of the Volturi coven amassed in the main throne room, though it wasn't an expression that reached his eyes. Most things didn't, though, save for the occasional light that appeared when he teased his sister--which he did so love to do--so it wasn't too much of a concern for him.
He couldn't find it within himself to put too much stock into what was being said. Words passed his lips, absent and automatic, and he didn't pay much attention to them when they did appear. Years of practice had ensured that he would be able to get away with such things, and it wasn't as if anyone would care, anyway. Alec wasn't stupid, not by a long shot, and he could tell at a glance who was preferred in the eyes of their master and proverbial father. It stung a little--that he could not deny--but he bore it with nothing but a smirk and a few well-placed remarks.
He was grateful to be here, and Aro had his loyalty, no matter what. And that was why, when Aro spoke, Alec felt a rarely-experienced stab of... sympathy. Or something close to it. He wasn't really capable of feeling emotions such as sympathy or empathy, but Aro's troubles were his troubles. It appeared that even his master's bodyguard was worried at the statement, for her grip momentarily tightened in a way that Alec could not miss, and a thin smile stretched across his face at the sight. He did not comment on Aro's words, however. He was a weapon, not a tactile plotter, and Aro likely wouldn't appreciate any of the flippant words Alec had to say about Carlisle and his unusual coven. Besides, Renata had already spoken, and Alec's added "concerns" would only be needless.
Instead, he allowed his smile to grow a little, and he nodded his head in acknowledgment at Aro's praise--praise that he craved, though he tried not to--and remained silent until the doors opened once more to reveal his twin, Jane.
"Dear sister," he greeted as Jane entered, red eyes sparking warmly at the sight of her. He did so love to see her, and he doubted there would ever be a time where that fondness would wane. They had been born together, raised together, and they had been burned and turned together. They had a bond that none other could even hope to approach, and it wouldn't be one easily broken. "It has been too long."

Jane had arrived at the throne room and she saw a group of people. The question that Jane had spoken was answered by Marcus who was one of the masters but not the one that Jane looks up to. Jane said” Marcus i was directing that at Master Aro.”Jane frowned because the wrong master answered her. Then Aro finally spoke to her. Jane said”That’s alright Master. You are the one that should be listened to. I know you have your own thoughts. My duties have been like usual. They do not seem to have gone wrong. I am just glad that you are backing home.”When Alec spoke to her it had pulled her out of her thoughts and she liked it when he called her sister because it signified that they were family. Jane said” Yes it has been too long. I just hope that your mission went well and it is good to have you back. Maybe after this meeting we can have brother sister time. I have something to tell you after the meeting. “ Master Aro had Renata by his side and Jane knew that she hardly strolled away from Aro and that made jane happy to know that Master had someone other than Alec and her to make him happy.
Jane walked up to Alec and grabbed his hand and smiled at Alec. Some reason being close to her brother made her happy. Jane knew that when the public could not see them they acted like family. Aro was like a father to Alec and Jane. Jane looked at the Masters and she knew that they were two people that no other person could ever ask to be by them.

Marcus sighed quietly while waiting for everyone to arrive so that Aro could start the meeting, he did not know much about the meeting but he did know the ball was coming up so it could have been about that. It also could have been about a change in the guard system or about missions. That tends to happen a lot. After addressing Jane about the meeting and listened to Aro take over by explaining the little details before he went back to be silent. it was quiet for a few minutes before he heard his brother Aro speaking to him about a book. Marcus sighed softly, “It is not another feel better book is it?” He sighed, he is getting quite tired of those kinds of books.
Marcus went back to his thoughts, he was starting to think that this meeting might have something to do with the events that transpired with the Cullens. None of the guard has been the same since that day, they were all excited that there would be a fight and most probably still think there should be a fight. Even his brother Caius and Aro have not been the same. Aro seemed to be in his mind a lot more and Caius has been more moody than usual in his opinion. In a way he hoped those events happen to end in their favor instead even though he thought the child herself was innocent and was actually glad that there was no fight.
Marcus was just glad that no one got hurt, he would hate to see his brothers die, if they did. He looked at Renata she was where she always was; right beside Aro. She was his personal guard after all so it made a lot of sense, even if there was no chance of a threat. She did have a strong bond to him almost like daughter and father, just like how Jane and Alec had on of the strangest bonds he has seen, they were kind of like two-halves of the same soul. He sighed softly and turned to his brother. “Will this meeting start soon?” He really didn’t care about the meeting but had a strange sense of curiosity about it.

A GUY WHOSE HEART BURSTS WHEN NIGHT COMES • That kind of guy • BEAUTIFUL, LOVEABLE YES YOU, HEY, YES YOU, HEY
The Guard had began to arrive like Ants in a Ant hive one after the over single file, just like an army marching. It was true they where one each member had there own unique skills that they bring to the table. His mind was not his own for the moment and others where beginning to notice. With the ball coming up and the events with the Cullen's, his mind was working over time to make everything prefect.
Aro smiled as he felt Renata hand gripping his jacket, she was the only guard that he would allow to cling to him if she needed. She was his bodyguard and also someone he could talk to if needed. After all she rarely left his side, Aro was thankful to her for that. But he also knew she could tell if something was eating away at him due to bond the two share so to speak. This was going to be one hell of a meeting.
“Is Something Wrong Master?” Aro heard Renata say to him. He simply placed his hand on top of hers and spoke saying. “Do Not worry my dear Renata.. Master is fine.. I am a just little on edge with what has happened and what is to happen In days to come. Now set your mind to happy thoughts Renata.” He removes his hand from hers and returns it to his side as he looks to the others.
Aro watched as Alec greeted his sister in their usual fashion, he did not comment on what Alec had said to his sister but he had his reasons for that. You are the one that should be listened to. I know you have your own thoughts. My duties have been like usual. They do not seem to have gone wrong. I am just glad that you are backing home” Jane addressed Aro. Polite as always he expected nothing less from her. He smiled and spoke saying.
Jane... be calm. I know your duties have been as they should have been, and I know for a fact you would not let anything happen to me in the field. So relax we are home now. Now take your place dear one. This meeting is very important to the Volturi and to the Further of the coven.
He then looked to his brother as Marcus addressed him saying “ It's not another feel better book is it.” Aro grinned at the comment and smiled. “No brother. it's about how to kill someone and make it look like a Accident.. I have brought Caius the same book. And yes I will now start the meeting.
He then stood up and looked to all the current members present and addressed them all not as their friend but as their leader. “The reason you have all been summoned is about what happened with Edward and Bella's child. As you are all aware Alice showed me something that disturbed me greatly, she had showed me what would of happened if we decided to fight that day.
He paused for a moment before carrying on with his speech. “We would of neither won nor lost the battle. But the result would be the same it would mean the end for our coven and many would have died on both sides. I could not allow members of my coven to die. you make up part of the Volturi each one of you, brings something to the coven. some of you fight, others plan and lead. Others protect and safe guard what we hold dear to us.
For Now we will observe and maintain the laws that govern us. You may now each speak your mind about issues you may have or If you choose to remain silent then so be it. But you will not be punished for speaking your mind. Sayings that choose your words wisely for you never know what could happen. Aro never spoke much about what he had seen or done. But this effected the coven as a whole so they had a right to know what had happened Aro could not live with seeing Jane and Alec killed in front of him, that was one reason he felt so uneasy. he could loose his kids and deep down that scared the crap out of him. It was so nice to see the guard gathering together again. It gave her such pleasure to see all her family in one place. She looked at them all fondly and shot the twins a brief smile when the two held hands. It was so wonderful to see the bond between the two of them, it was truly unlike any other she'd seen. But then, Jane and Alec were extraordinary people, so it made sense that they would have an extraordinary bond. She frowned when Aro told her what he was thinking about. Don't worry Master, we'll protect you. She thought, determined. Her lips quirked upward when Master Marcus asked if Master Aro had gotten him another feel good book. Actually, she had bought one a few days ago and left it for him in his rooms earlier today. After all, he did need new reading material. She only hoped he didn't think she was being impertinent..
The smile fell from her face when Aro started talking about the reason he had summoned them all today. She tensed and her hand tightened around Aro's robe when he revealed that if they had fought that day it would have meant the end of their coven. As he spoke she found herself glancing to the other two leaders, and then to the twins to reassure herself that they were alright. To think, if they had fought that day...she suppressed a shudder at the thought of something happening to any of them. She thought it was sweet what he said about them though, she felt much the same way. Her thoughts drifted back to that day in the clearing. She had been on the edge the entire time, especially after she noticed the wolves. She had not been looking forward to testing her power against the shape shifters. She forced her focus back to the meeting when Aro asked them to speak their minds about any issues they may have. She stayed silent and waited to see if someone else would speak up. She had nothing to say after all. She was worried about the Cullens of course, but as long as Carlisle led them...well she doubted they would have to worry about them launching a full scale attack. Some of the more foolish ones might try something at the ball, but she and the rest of the guard would stop them, she was certain of it.

The lighthearted smile remained on Alec's face as Jane spoke, his eyes never leaving his sister's small frame as she spoke, though they flickered briefly to Marcus when Jane dismissed his words, something Alec himself would never dare to do. Perhaps Marcus wasn't the literal all-seeing leader that Aro, their master and father, was, but he was still a voice to be respected, the rare times that he did speak. Until now, it had been awhile since Alec had last heard words escape those ancient lips, and he couldn't help the interested incline of his head, though he kept his eyes forward for the moment.
Jane's next comment drew the majority of his attention, however, and he angled himself towards her with an enigmatic smile.
"Of course, dear sister," the Volturi vampire responded, giving her a small nod, eyes glinting in pleasure. It was never a chore to spend time with Jane, and he knew it never would be. He found himself vaguely intrigued at the idea of her telling him something in private; normally she had no qualms just saying whatever it was out loud, laid bare for all to see. Although, to be fair, it had been a long while since they had truly spoken in private, their duties since the near-uprising from the Cullen coven having increased in the Volturi's attempt to make sure that other covens did not follow their example.
The Volturi was strong--stronger than any other, especially with he and Jane near the head--and while Alec did so love the occasional conflict, he did not want the Olympic coven turning into figureheads for others; models to be raised high on proverbial plaques, their actions memorialised in useless monuments to a change that was not needed.
With these thoughts swirling in his mind, Alec's face lost traces of the smile from early, his mouth thinning to a tight line. He did not hold a grudge against the Cullen clan, and he was not so quick to become enraged over Bella Swan's defiance of Jane's gift like his beloved sister was, but it was a troublesome thought all the same when one considered just how different that fight might have gone down. It was, therefore, a calming surprise when Jane abruptly seized his hand, the action prompting Alec to glance down at aforementioned joined hands with a quirk of his eyebrow before he abruptly relaxed, giving her a small, almost grateful nod.
An almost imperceptible chuckle escaped Alec's lips as Marcus made a comment on the book, ghostly flickers of his earlier smile appearing again and staying there, though they were promptly dashed when Aro started speaking again.
Had Alec not been a vampire, and therefore already colder than death, a chill would have run down his spine. As it was, he stiffened, casting his eyes to each of the vampires present in the room before he focused them entirely on Aro. For years he had wondered--quietly, and without voicing his thoughts--what it was the Cullen's seer, Alice, had shown their master, all the while knowing that it wouldn't have been something favourable by the way Aro had decided to turn around, even after bringing the entirety of the Volturi--including the wives--out of the safety of the castle. And now he knew. Not the full details, but even the admission Aro had made was enough for Alec to piece together the basics: the Volturi would have lost, or lost enough of the family that, even had they come through victorious, the loss of their fellow coven members would have been too great.
Many of them would have died.
I stood a chance of losing Jane.
A small hiss escaped Alec's mouth. He almost wish he had stayed ignorant. The very idea that the Cullens could have put up even that much of a fight, had they wanted, disturbed him more than he cared to say.
His mind racing back to his earlier thoughts, Alec slapped an impassive mask on his face before speaking.
"Can we be sure the Cullens will not try to raise another army?" As he spoke, he kept his tone dry; patronising in the face of the first real threat they'd faced since Alec and Jane had joined the coven, using their gifts to further the power of Aro, Caius, Marcus, and the coven they had started to build.
He refused to let any trace of his worry shine through. It wasn't what they needed right now.

Jane smirked at Master Marcus’s question to Master Aro about the type of book that Master Aro had bought for him. Jane heard Master Marcus ask about the meeting. Jane said” That is a good question Master Marcus.”Jane bowed her head to master Aro as he spoke to her. She was always loyal to Master Aro. It was more like the father daughter bond more than Master and guard bond. Jane said” I know that you always know what is best . I just try to not disappoint you Master. I am relaxed and always will be when I am around you and Alec.” She smiled to Master Aro and then to her brother Alec. Then she walked t o the side of Master Aro and stood there waiting to hear what Master Aro was going to say. Jane heard that Alice who was a part of the Cullen Coven had used her power to show Master Aro a vision of what would have happened if there was a fight back then.
Jane realized that day would have been the end of their coven if that fight had begun. Jane had begun to wonder what she would have said if she spoke to Alice. She wanted to say that she would have thanked Alice but that would not have been Jane was all about. Sure Alice may have prevented a tragedy from happening but Jane could not bring herself to thanking a Cullen. Jane heard Master Aro speak what each one of the Volturi was like. She would want to think that she was one that could lead a small army and make Master Aro proud but she was not sure how Master Aro viewed her worth to the Coven. She heard that Master Aro was allowing the members to speak their minds but do it wisely. Jane did not know if her words would be considered wisely or not. She decided to keep silent and be calm. Then after her brother spoke she wanted to express her feelings afterall.
Jane said” My dear Brother has a good point master Aro and Marcus. We never will know what they might do since we did not fought. They might feel a different feeling than we do.” Then jane stood back and calmly by her Master’s side.

The room was getting very quite as Aro spoke to the room, was so quiet you could hear a pin drop in it. Marcus sat patiently in his throne as he watched the guards fidgeting and looking nervous. This was a touchy subject for a lot of the guards to hear lately. Especially since it was a loss to many of them personally, and kind of embarrassing. He also knew that Aro was having a hard time talking about this as well. Even after the whole event Aro would hardly talk to his own brothers about the vision Alice had. It sometimes worried him even though he doesn’t show it a lot. Then again everyone has been acting a little strange since then.
Marcus looked at Aro when he mentioned the end of their coven. Marcus might not care as much as his brothers do when it comes to Volturi business but he did care for the coven as hard as it seems. He grew attached to them and they have been there to deal with his boredness, and his monotone attitude that he developed over the years.
After Aro was done speaking he looked around to see if any guard had any thoughts or concerns. He was surprised that not many of them spoke up. Although most of them probably thought they knew the answer, which was common. A moment of silence went by and then Alec spoke up about the possibility of the Cullens creating an army against them. It was a genuine concern that needed to be spoken of, but knowing Carlisle it does not seem like a thing he would do. Although knowing the more younger and foolish of Cullens there could still be holding grudges that could be seen very clearly at the ball. It could create some awkward situations especially since he knew Jane and some of the other guards would not be so pleased to see the Cullens.
Marcus himself really did not know what to say, even if he did he would most likely discuss with it alone with his brothers before hand. Everyone would not even care if he didn’t say anything either. He was known for not speaking as much as his brothers, so he just stayed silent. A single thought did go into his head though, 'what if we spend all our time worrying about the Cullens and the Romanians come in with an army?'

I REMEMBER WHEN WE BROKE UP THE FIRST TIME • saying,"this is it, I’ve had enough," 'cause like • WE HADN'T SEEN EACH OTHER IN A MONTH Aro Was surprised at the lack of comments from the guards on this matter, did they have nothing to say or did they really understand what he was speaking.. “ Renata... Calm my dear... What I saw did not happen.. But with you at my side, it would be hard for anyone to get close to me.. You know this Dear...” Aro had spoken to her to calm Renata, He then speaks again saying. I Wish to speak to you when the meeting ends... Do not leave this hall.”

As Aro spoke to her Renata took a deep breath and gradually loosened her grip on his robe, though she did not let go of it completely. During her moment of panic she had temporarily forgotten the reason she was almost always by her master's side. She had forgotten the power afforded to her when she became a vampire, one of the Volturi. She nodded when Aro said he wanted to speak to her after the meeting ended. "Of course Master." She replied softly, then turned her thoughts to the covens who were attending the ball, trying to analyze just how much of a threat each one could be. A sickening thought came to her as her mind flashed back to that day fifty years ago. She could see the faces of the two surviving Romanians clearly in her mind's eye. Would they come to ruin the ball? What would happen if they did? No, she thought as she glanced at Alec and Jane, surely even they would not be that foolish.
Her eyes narrowed and flashed to Alec's when he mentioned the Cullens gathering an army. Truth be told, she was worried about that too, as well as the power the Cullens held with their fellow vampires. She did not think Carlisle was the sort to move against them, but she did not trust the rest of his coven the same way. She relaxed slightly and refocused on Aro when he confirmed that Carlisle had only raised the army that day nearly five decades ago. That sounded like the Carlisle she remembered from his stay here, she would still have to keep an eye on his coven when the ball came however. She frowned briefly when Jane voiced her concern about disappointing their master. She had the same concern, but she was sure her fellow guard had not given Aro cause to be disappointed in her recently. She smiled at Jane encouragingly as Aro replied to her worries before turning to Master Marcus when Master Aro asked for his opinion on the matter. It was not rare for Marcus to simply allow Aro to read his thoughts instead of voicing his opinions, but she was curious to hear what he thought.

There was no sense of loss at Jane's contact, which was perhaps a little odd, but Jane's gesture in and off itself had been spontaneous enough that perhaps the shock was still wearing off. Even so, it wasn't enough to keep his mind from wandering again, absently imagining the many directions that battle could have taken, his eyes taking on a slightly distant look before he pulled himself away from the dangerous thoughts, taking the necessary precautions to focus his attention back on the other gathered members of the Volturi.
He could not help the slight frown that flickered across his face at Aro's comment, though it wasn't an action directed at the Volturi's leader--rather, it was one of thought, tinged with the teasing edge that Alec was known for among the other members of this little family of theirs.
"Yes, but I speak more about how he was able to assemble that army so fast." It was a thought Alec didn't like the dwell on, but he felt it must be said. "So little time passed and yet Carlisle was able to get word out to not just one but at least four other covens. And not only was he able to get word out, but he was able to convince these covens, previously passive and with no black marks on their ledger, to join him and stand against us." Alec's eyes narrowed at the thought, and without seek permission he moved away from the throne, eyes narrowed in thought as he approached one of the windows in the throne room. He could see the dust particles floating in the air, illuminated by the faint light creeping in, and when Alec stood near enough he couldn't help but notice the faint sparkling sheen his skin took one.
With a look of disgust, he stepped away from the light, turning to face the others.
"What if he has convinced those same covens to use this ball as an excuse to make another stand?" Alec's tone was absent, as if he were speaking of something as mundane as the weather; almost musing, like this subject were the least seriously thing in the world. But the hard look in his eyes gave him away. "We should crush them, I think. They're a rising power, and they're getting too influential. We can't allow them to live."
Of course, if they could get the Cullens on their side it would greatly strength the Volturi's influence, but Alec wasn't foolish enough to think they'd come willingly.
He knew Aro wasn't, either, despite his constant pressuring of them to join.
