Alyx entered into the gates of Volterra with a swift step. Her black cloak billowed behind her as she skilled her way around the people of Volterra and through the city. She did not have to worry much about the sun - it was a dark day. Some people glanced at her but quickly recognized the black cloak and their pace quickened without another glance in her direction. She could feel the nerves rolling off of them and it made her smirk. The people of Volterra could feel the presence of the vampires that kept them safe. They were the only people worth protecting in her mind. Because that was what the Volturi did for the people of Volterra. They protected them. No one was to hunt in the city and while it was sometimes an inconvenience, it maintained the peace.
It felt good to return home. Alyx had been gone for almost a week, collecting the number of people who would be attending the Forever Young Ball. Forget traveling around the world in eighty days, she'd done it in five and found some of the most elusive covens in the world. Not to mention all the mentioned nomads on the list. At first, Alyx had wondered why Aro had even sent her out to collect replies. To her it was obvious no one would be missing it. Any chance to see the inside of the Volturi's home and a chance to be invited into the coven was all many wished for. But only a fair few were good enough. Yet Aro was stuck on the ones that would not join. Most of those stupid Cullens. Alyx thought bitterly before controlling herself. She would soon return and Aro would read her thoughts. She was not fully up for conversing of the Cullens, especially when she had just had to visit them a mere two days ago.
She had gotten all yes to every coven she visited. She'd checked off every name and coven on a scroll and had wrapped it up neatly, planning to give it to Aro as soon as she arrived. And then lay in her room away from decorating, reading some over-acknowledged book that she'd read over a thousand times before. Perhaps she would slip into thoughts of her days before the Volturi. Meeting and greeting all the covens and nomads had brought back memories. She'd not liked the change she had begun to feel around them. She had been different. Her last two years before the Volturi had been cruel and full of darkness and that is what she had become as she entered the Volturi and learned their cruel ways. She used to be young and innocent. She almost laughed. Her! Innocent An absolutely preposterous thought. The Cullens could have noticed a lapse in her normal stature. She could only hope they didn't. She needed to start focusing more on control. It was something she had begun lapsing in the past year.
As luck had it, as soon as she arrived she passed by the empty receptionist desk and walked right into a meeting. Most of the guard was present, and as soon as she saw Alec and Jane, she knew she would definitely be required to attend. Groaning inside, she walked straight to Aro and placed the scroll in front of him. She gave Renata a quick look before touching his hand for a few moments recounting her visits to the covens and all their replies. She then moved to her place beside Jane and remained quiet so as to catch up on what was happening in the meeting. Then she could judge how much longer it might be.
Judging by Jane's tense stance, Renata's tightened hand on Aro's jacket and the general intensity of the room, Alyx guessed they were discussing the Cullens. Her most dreaded topic. This could take a while.

Jane was standing around the group of Volturi members discussing various issues. The other members were Master marcus, Renate, Alec, and Master Aro. Jane heard Master Aro speak to Renate and about without her people would be able to get to him. Knowing Renata was protecting Master Aro with her shield made jane happy. She did not want anything to happen to master Aro.Then she heard Master Aro speak on what Alec said and it was about the Cullen's and if they would try again what would the Volturi do. Then Jane had voiced her opinon saying"Then I am wondering since as you say we never should have been there if we should have believed Irina and let a proposed breaking of a law go uninspected? If I did not want to fight I would not be myself now would I master."Then she had a wide smile come across her face.
Alec then had voiced his opinons that turned into questions about Carlisle again and the possibility of convincing the other covens to use the ballas a excuse to make another stand. Jane then said" They would not make a stupid mistake like that. If they respected Master like they do they will not do anything that could make him mad in his own home.As much as I would love to crush them if we did that we would not have anyone to rule over. Just think about that dear brother. That would be the only common sense thing to do."
