Of Ghosts and Thoughts (Aro)

The corridors of the Castle were lonely and was dark even if she could see, every step she took she could hear clearly as well. Even though the guards gave her clear direction she still felt like she was lost in the massive place. It was huge, although she figured that much for having to room a lot of vampires. Was it too much to ask for someone to escort her there. She then thought they must have been lazy because it close to their break time...did they even get breaks? Ah yes, now she gets all the thoughts about not joining; although she didn’t care much for those thoughts. She knew that she was going to do.

After centuries of exploring and meeting faces she would never see again she just wanted to find a place to stay. I mean meeting people you never get attached too because you already know you’ll never see them again gets kind of sad. Eliza knew she had ghosts as friends but..they're dead; she knows she is ‘technically’ dead but not that dead. They did come in handy though, like how she had to ask one just to figure out where the Volturi were.

Eliza didn't bring anything with her because she didn't have anything besides the letter Aro gave her. Surprisingly she hasn't seen a ghost in this place yet; ’you would think you would see a ghost in this place,’ Eliza thought to herself. She softly sighed as she stopped walking, getting a little nervous. What if they don’t accept her and kill her? Eliza then paused feeling stupid, ‘he wouldn't have offered if he didn't care.’ She shook those negative thoughts out of her mind. It was too late to turn back now, she already took a plane there and was in their castle. Eliza thought long about this before hand and thought it was a pretty good shot. So she knew she was going to accept the offer.

[Aro Volturi.]

Aro could not get the power that Eliza had out of his head. It had no offensive uses. But it could be used to find out information about someone or even used to contact certain ghosts if Aro required it But Eliza would be placed in the lower guard ranking bracket if she did accept the offer to join the volturi he knew she would but something could of changed he would have to wait and see if she had changed her mind.

Aro sat and waited in the throne room, hoping that Eliza would Accept his offer, one more guard with a gift to add to his collection amused him so much. Aro was unable to tell that she was within the castle. being vampires come and go most days and night. He had left the guards with strict orders to allow her to pass unescorted so she would not feel as if she was being forced in anyway to Accept this offer.

“Ghost girl. I do hope you accept my offer. You will make a welcome edition to my guard.” He thought to himself Aro was in a happy and chirpy mood today for reasons unknown even to him. Just as he was about to give up hope he spots Young Eliza who looked like a lost puppy, who could blame her the castle was huge and getting lost was an easy thing to happen.

“Ah Ghost girl. Welcome to Volterra and the Castle. I am glad you accepted my invite, I hope your trip was peasant I was about to give up all hope. Do not worry you are safe my guard will not harm you. And you will soon become one of them if you still wish to Join the Volturi. * He smiled to Elisa and nodded to her so she knew she was allowed to enter.

Eliza walked around in the hallways until she heard that nickname she would never forget; ‘ghost girl’. She knew who that name came from too. 'Really, ghost girl? Did he forget my name?' She turned slowly towards the voice smiling, “Please sir, it is Eliza; and yes my trip was pleasant.” She said as she walked into the room slowly looking around at the site. It looked like something she would see from an extremely rich family, which suited them well. Eliza tried not to laugh when she saw thrones; yep they are treating themselves like royalty alright.

”I kind of figured the guards wouldn’t hurt me, but they were vague on directions..or I took the wrong turn.” Eliza shrugged and started to wonder why someone would be happy to see her. I mean yes she was going to join their ranks but her power was nothing to be excited over. Eliza found her power to be more of a pain than anything, only being able to compel ghosts to scare humans once in awhile for cheap laughs.

Walking closer she could feel a weird sensation around her, one she normally got in a graveyard. Her beliefs were right, this must be a place of a high amount of death, probably from humans. Eliza looked around once more for any signs of ghosts; she saw none. She sighed softly and looked back at Aro, smiling. “I would say why I am here, but I think you know why.”

[Aro Volturi.]

Please sir, its Eliza; and yes my trip was pleasant. Aro heard Eliza speak. did she not like the nickname ? Aro found it amusing and fitting for one with a power such as her's. “ I am so glad... And do not worry my home is a maze to them who do not reside or live within its walls. But my guards. should of pointed you towards the throne room, if any of them offended you any shape or form tell me and I shall deal with them...

Aro watched her a she looked around what she is looking for ghosts. or just taking in the sights and sounds of her soon to be home. One could only guess. death is all around Volterra, but due to what the Volturi do. that is not surprising to anyone. He looked to Eliza again and spoke saying.

“Yes I do know why you have come. but do you know what the Volturi do. And most often we end executing people who break laws and rules. How do you feel about that. Eliza.” Aro smiled to her. he knew she was going to join them. But had to ask her questions to amuse him self. “And we will teach you how to fight along with other unique skills to help you carry out your duties..”

But if you do take the oath you will have a home a family and will want for nothing... we are a family. along as you stay loyal to me and the Volturi. You will be treated with same respect as the other guards. So do you wish to take the oath. or do you have some more questions for me. ?

Eliza shook her hands, “Oh no, they did not offend me at all. Even if they did I would not let it bother me. No reason to get mad if it is not harmful.” Eliza smiled, she did agree that the place was a maze, she hoped she would get use to the place soon. It would suck if she got lost just finding her bedroom.

Executions. She had to think about it for a second, she figured the Volturi had to execute people, that's what happened in the past to people who broke the law. Eliza shrugged “In the end it’s putting them out of their misery. Death doesn't bother me.” The idea did not bother her, if someone gave her a death threat it would not bother her either. Now torture was a completely different story. She would feel extreme amounts of pain for who knows how long before she died.

Eliza thought for a minute, she knew that she was going to accept but she did have one question on her mind. “Yeah, I do have one question. What is the oath?” It was basically her way of accepting but she was curious about what the oath was. Did she have to sacrifice someone, she did not know. She had no idea what they did.

Aro would never accept just anyone into the guard, but he saw something in Eliza that could be used and developed into something that could help the Volturi even reach past death its-self. Aro smiled as Eliza spoke saying.”Oh no, they did not offend me at all. Even if they did I would not let it bother me. No reason to get mad if it is not harmful. Aro was happy that his guard had learned their lesson it was about time they did.

“I am glad they did not. Sometimes the lower ranked guards, can be more hassle then there worth, but someone has to guard our home from unwanted visitors is that not true about most homes Eliza. ?” Aro then took a small sip from his glass, as he looked to Eliza as she spoke again saying. “ In the end it’s putting them out of their misery. Death doesn't bother me.” Aro was starting to like Eliza even more then the first time they had met.

“That is good to hear. death is you could say our house guest. but since you do not mind seeing people executed, then you will make fine addition to my guard. And your questions are welcome. “Yeah, I do have one question. What is the oath?” Eliza asked Aro again it was simple but in saying the oath she would be bound to the Volturi, a till her death or if she wished to leave.

“The oath is simple repeat after me Eliza. If you still wish to Join the Volturi. ”I Eliza do swear to follow and enforce the rules set down by the Masters that govern our way of life. Never to question orders and to carry them out with haste and within Volturi laws. And never to speak about your fellow guards without a good reason. There is more but you may read about them in the book you will receive If you take the oath.
