Benjamin sighed as he sat down on the sofa bed that was positioned in the living room of Tia and his section of the temple, since they spent forever in here it seemed only fair that they were allowed some private space of their own. He had fought so much against Amun to allow them to have this, since he was convinced it was just more incentive for Tia to distract him from what he should be doing which was training. Tia never distracted him .. Well that was a lie she usually did, but it was his fault not hers and Amun just got angry. Like he had today due to Benjamin's lack of focus, laziness and more importantly the line he always went back to I gave you life and now you are wasting it.
The funny thing was what Amun had given him didnt feel like life anymore, it was the same thing he was getting at the moment just problem after problem, poking at the fact that he should be doing more he should want to train every day and better his knowledge of his ability. To be honest Benjamin did enjoy training more than anything, but he hated where Amun was going with this, he wanted Benjamin to cause damage to destroy others to fight and win him back his coven, but it seemed that he got no choice in that. Life was not the same here anymore the temple had changed in the fifty years he had spent since their time with the Olympic Coven, now Benjamin was becoming aware of the fact that the temple was more of a prison than a home. The lack of windows, the constant eyes on his back watching him, he had no freedom at all and to be honest the place was just depressing him and ruining his focus.
He lay back looking up at the ceiling trying to remember what it felt like to run through the trees, to climb from branch to branch and feel the wind against his face, how pleasurable freedom felt. Still freedom came with a price and that was the Volturi breathing down his neck, but then again they were breathing down his neck here which is why Amun was pushing the training so hard, if they come for Benjamin he needs to be ready to take a stand and fight against them or at least this was Amun's plan. With a sigh Benjamin grabbed a handful of sand manipulating the wind so that there was a sand cyclone on his palm, this was what he liked using his ability for fun, entertainment, he loved making others happy using his ability, the only persons this rule didnt apply to however were Amun and Aro obviously. He sighed again allowing the wind to fade and the sand blow away, "Stupid ability" he muttered lying back and looking at the ceiling.

* settle down it'll all be clear , • DON'T PAY NO MIND TO THE DEMONS THEY FILL YOU WITH FEAR • tia did not have any special abilities - and for this, she was eternally grateful. her painful transformation had resulted only in an immortal body and the regular abilities that came with vampirism. in fact, she thought that any dark gifts that they were given by the changing were better titled curses than gifts; benjamin was miraculous - a wonder, tia was sure - but his gift had caused them grief.
well, most of them. amun was terribly interested in benjamin's gift - the kind of interested that made tia's skin crawl, and she had never before had a problem with voicing her dislike of amun to benjamin. she hadn't accepted amun and kebi as warmly into her heart as benny had - sweet, loving benjamin, who seemed more willing to see the good in others than the bad. this is probably what made her love him so much.
and while she had no spectacular gifts like benjamin did, tia prided herself on being able to keep her composure a lot better than most. it didn't matter how much she disdained amun for his often degrading outbursts; amun would never know how much she truly scorned him for this lapse in judgment, and the day she grew tired of his treatment, he would be very aware.
in their bedroom, tia tucked her hair up into a pony tail, pausing to listen; she could hear benjamin murmuring to himself in their comfortable, more private living room, and a little smile found its way onto her face. tia was not the kind of woman who was pleased by much - she spent a lot of her time figuring out escape routes and keeping her guard up - but somehow, benjamin never failed to put a smile on her face.
moving out into the living room, the lithe young woman slipped up to the couch, silent as a wraith, and nestled herself into the couch, fitting easily against benjamin. she'd heard him - "stupid ability," - and ran her fingers lightly over the curve of his cheekbone, her gaze softening.
"lovely ability," she corrected gently, her voice thickly accented. even in all the years, she had not lost the hebrew accent she'd developed when she'd moved to suez. lightly, she pressed her lips to his cheek, reaching for his hand. "amun did not let up this time, did he?"

Benjamin smiled as he felt someone sit next to him, there was only one person who would be here at the moment and snuggle up close to him like this, he instinctively wrapped an arm around her shoulders pulling her closer to him, she had in a immediate calming effect on him and dragging away his painful thoughts about his ability. As she corrected him he smiled even more so when she kissed his cheek "Yes he was not to happy with my 'lack of focus' today" Leaning their foreheads together he sighs "Then he started blaming you and things went down hill from there" Benjamin admitted, Amun knew better then to threaten or use Tia as an excuse because that annoyed Benjamin more than anything, The Egyptian Coven was his home and he was scared to leave to move on and let go of them, there was security here yes the Volturi could go after them but Amun had friends that would stand with them if the moment came so he did not have to worry about fighting them alone. Also whilst he was here he knew Tia was safe that he was not carelessly and needlessly putting her in danger by leaving because that was the last thing he wanted, she was his everything.
"He's been on edge since we got that invitation" Benjamin explained with a sigh, to be fair it was troubling Benjamin the invite to a ball with all the Volturi around "He's not sure if he is comfortable with me as he put it 'parading' around Volterra" He added with a sigh it was not that Benjamin liked the idea of putting their coven in danger especially Tia, but it would be good to see something other than sand and the locked doors of this temple. If they went though of course they would be running every risk of not coming back again and the last thing he wanted to do was risk anything happening to Tia looking over at her he gave her a small smile pushing a few strands of hair that she had missed from her ponytail and tucking them behind her ear again, looking into her beautiful scarlet red eyes as he stroked her cheek.

* settle down it'll all be clear , • DON'T PAY NO MIND TO THE DEMONS THEY FILL YOU WITH FEAR • ah, yes. there it was. naturally, the majority of benjamin's distress boiled down to a single factor - amun. there was no lack of disdain for amun in tia's mind; she disliked the way he looked at benjamin, because for all of his fake sincerity, there was always an ulterior motive somewhere behind his eyes. there was no doubt that amn was good at disguising it; he always knew how to play people with warm, sincere smiles that he might have meant it, sometimes. but tia was almost certain he never did.
she could feel benjamin's body relax a little, and smiled into the smooth plane of his shoulder. it was... unfortunate that they were stuck with a man who did not care in the least for them save for benjamin's power (as far as tia was concerned), and that amun manage to stress her mate out so thoroughly, but for the moment, there was little they could do. she was most concerned about ben's safety, and the safest place for him (and herself) at this time was in the temple, with amun and kebi. as much as she would have liked to go somewhere else with ben - anywhere, really, would have sufficed - she knew that it was a foolhardy to move to leave the safety of their coven.
"then he started blaming you and things went down hill from there." benjamin's words rumbled in her ear, and she gave a tiny, unnecessary sigh. she should have known amun was going to try and wield her like a weapon against benjamin. that's how it always went, wasn't it? whenever amun ran out of things to be mad about, he got mad about her.
"oh yes," she replied, her voice light and teasing as she sat up a little, pressing a kiss to benjamin's lips once, and then twice, a crooked smile coming over her face. "i am the jezebel distracting his precious boy. how dare i?" tia laughed, positively amused by the idea of it - if only amun knew better than to make false, ineffective threats, he would get things done much more efficiently.
she listened attentively, though, as he continued to explain. her eyes shut briefly at his caress, waiting for a moment before trusting herself to speak.
"i don't like it either," tia admitted after a moment. "the volturi have never had anything but the worst of intentions for you, my love." she paused, mulling something over pensively, tracing the curve of his neck with her finger absently while she thought. "but i also hate having to keep penned up like this. we're not animals that amun can dictate. i think - it's something to consider at least, don't you?"

Benjamin chuckled as Tia kissed him softly "Mm how dare you" he mumbled teasing her "When I have so much more important to focus on, like taking over the world" he winked at her she knew he was joking with her because he would much rather spend every second of the day with her and none of it training or practicing with his ability. She was the most beautiful person in the world and he was lucky to have her, as he thought he gently stroked her her back pulling her closer to him.
He nodded when Tia spoke about her misgivings about the invitation, that was one thing that Benjamin felt horrible for, it was his fault they were here trapped, if he hadn't got this stupid ability when he was transformed then they could be doing so much more with their lives. They could see the world, explore or actually experience history as it passed them by instead of just waiting for the time to pass and not even noticing the years go by. "That was what I was thinking, sometimes this places is very sickening, it would be good to escape Amun is unsure of wether we should be attending or not that I know, he's been discussing it with Kebi" Benjamin had considered running away for a little while, the last time he'd done that he came back with Tia and Amun had been though on the surface grateful he had increased the locks around the place. Since then Benjamin escaped for a day and got scolded when he returned just like a child would and though he looked like a fifteen year old, he didnt want to be treated like one, but that seemed impossible. As she traced his neck he sighed softly "Sorry" he whispered looking away from her as he did "If it wasnt for me we wouldn't be here, we could be anywhere else, just exploring and really living instead of just being .. Trapped"
This was something Benjamin had probably done a thousand times, he was always apologising to her for their life but he felt the need to as it was of course his fault. Gently he traced circles on her back, Tia was the most wonderful person he had ever met even back when they were kids in care, he knew he'd loved her when he had first met her and he remembered the two years after the painful transformation when he knew he had lost her that he could never see her again, but of course he had not been able to live in that doubt and had to find her. "I'll never forget the look on your face that day when I found you again the exact moment you caught sight of me out of the window and recognised me" he leant forward kissing her softly, how could he ever that was all it had taken to melt his heart again, but knowing that she was safe had been enough off him, but she had wanted to join him for some crazy stupid reason and he had no idea what his life would be like if he had not changed her.

* settle down it'll all be clear , • DON'T PAY NO MIND TO THE DEMONS THEY FILL YOU WITH FEAR • that was the thing, though - tia saw benjamin's apologies as unnecessary. it wasn't as if he'd asked for such a gift - or that he'd asked for the volturi to want his gift - or that he'd even deliberately tried to get a gift. it was something he had been born with, an ability he'd had a little bit of even when he and tia had first met each other, foolish children playing silly games in the garden of her uncle's home. even then, he'd had some semblance of the great power he held now - and even then, she had known that it wasn't something that he had chosen. and it was still a gift, for as much grief as it might have given them.
"i do not know," tia ventured teasingly, pressing a third playful kiss to his lips. "when put to the scale, i believe it is a pretty close call between taking over the world and me." she smiled a warm, lovely smile, all the affection she had for benjamin welling up in her heart at that moment. this was the benjamin she loved - playful, impulsive, teasing. it wasn't his ability she loved, or the stressed, unhappy benjamin, but the benny that was happy.
his mood quickly sobered, though, and her smile fell away for a moment when the apology - something that had been set on repeat - came from his mouth. she had told him countless times that he didn't have anything to apologize for; she had loved him, and comforted him, but for some reason she hadn't yet been able to lift that heavy blanket of guilt on his heart.
"if it wasn't for you," tia murmured gently, taking his face into her hands, "i would have stayed married to alim. i would have lived a comfortable, mortal life - with a man i did not love." with a lighter smile, she continued, "so i do not get to out shopping as frequently as i would have liked. it is a small, insignificant price to pay in exchange for your love."
settling more comfortably into his side, tia gave a soft sigh and nestled her face into the crook of his neck. it never ceased to surprise her how she could worry so much about benjamin, and then be almost instantly calmed b simply being around him. for a little while, she could forget that there was any problem at all.
tia's smile widened when the conversation turned to the night benjamin had come to find her. "i'd nearly given up hope that i'd ever see you again," she explained, shutting her eyes lightly and returning the kiss warmly. "but a little part of me was always hoping, you know - and when i saw you in the garden that night, i figured i must have been dreaming." she can remember that night clearly, no matter how far away it had been; she remembered how heavy the night air had been, how tired she'd been and how she'd been up around the house moving anyway because sleeping in that bed next alim felt wrong. and she remembered seeing benjamin out in the back gardens, how her heart skipped and she noticed his eyes -
and from then on, nothing else had mattered. there had been no need to worry about what would happen to alim, what the reputation of her family would be, whether she would ever be able to sing or paint or sculpt or do anything again - none of it mattered because she had benjamin.
"i love you," tia said at last, when she dragged herself out of the memory, her smile returning full force. "i loved you then, and i love you now." pausing, the dark-haired vampire settled again, pressing his lips into a thin line. "i think we should go," she added after a minute. "to the ball, i mean. i think it would give us a chance to survey the volturi in their full force - and to get out of here."

Benjamin chuckled "You're right taking over the world is pretty high in my priorities" he teased her warm smile making him laugh even more, around Tia he could really be himself he could have fun, joke and laugh he did not have to focus on being someone he was not. With her he used his ability to make her smile or to entertain her that was what was important to him he did not care about how strong he was of how much damage he could do as long as he did not hurt her that was all that mattered and he would never hurt her that he knew.
When she cupped his face in her hands he smiled listening as she spoke about how he had helped her and what his love meant to her and this could not help but make him smile. "Well I could never live without you, those two years without you were painful, I was so alone and I knew I had to find you" Leaning over he stroked her cheek softly "I'm so sorry I have tied you down to this life without shopping, I understand it must be such a price to pay" A grin spread across his face as he teased her, he always teased her and to be honest there was nothing he could stand anymore than shopping he had only been a few times but it still was dull and one of the few things he was thankful to not have to do.
As Tia snuggled closer to him he repositioned his arm wrapping around her waist and leaning his head against hers gently when she spoke about how she had felt that night it made him smile, "I told you back when we were little, I'd always find you and come back for you" he said softly of course he would go back for her ever since he had been little he knew he had loved her and wanted to protect her, they had saved their own money to run away together and after the painful transformation she had been the first thing he'd thought of. It was back then that he really had been locked away with his newborn capabilities he really had tried to tear Amun apart to get away and find her. Whenever he felt low Benjamin just remembered that smile on her face that night the love that had grown in her eyes when she spotted him, when she realised he had come back for her.
"I love you to Ti, I'd be lost without you, I hope you know that" leaning over he kissed her forehead softly when she spoke about the party and how she wanted to go he nodded slowly. "Okay, I don't know now much choice we get in the matter you know what Amun's like when his 'prize' wants to get out especially walking into enemy lines, but I will go if you want to, but I don't want to go if anything could happen to you" he said softly, the Volturi were vicious and Amun seemed to think that they would not stop at anything to get his power and if they used him to get to hurt her, if they did anything to hurt her. "I can't loose you Ti, if they .. If they took you .. Or if anything happened to you I'd never be able to forgive myself" he looked over at her again, he knew he could defend her a little fire and vampires went running but he was still scared that he'd loose her and his life wasnt worth living without her.

* settle down it'll all be clear , • DON'T PAY NO MIND TO THE DEMONS THEY FILL YOU WITH FEAR • things were differen than she'd planned, certainly. tia hadn't expected to have to keep herself barred up in a temple in egypt when benjamin had asked her to come away with him; she hadn't thought that the man who'd given them this eternal life would, in fact, scorn her because of her love for benjamin and because of his love for her. she had imagined the life they'd planned together when they were young; together, because they loved each other, and doing the things they'd wanted to.
alright, she reasoned, so things didn't exactly pan out the way she'd thought they would. did that mean she regretted ever running away with benjamin? certainly not. the life she would have had with alim would have been quickly eclipsed, she knew, by the love she had for benjamin; it wouldn't have ever lived up to her expectations, and there was no way she would have ever been happy enough to stay there in the first place.
benjamin had given her an escape, a promise out and to love that she'd been waiting for. over two hundred years, and she still hadn't gotten her fill of benjamin.
"well, i could never live without you," were the words that left benjamin's lips then, and her smile warmed and her hand found his, interlacing their fingers together as easily as breathing.
"luckily, you do not have to live without me," tia purred, leaning into his touch and shutting her carmine eyes briefly. they fluttered open once more, encased in sooty lashes, and her smile had not yet faltered.
at his next words, though, she laughed, propping herself up and leaning close to kiss him - once, then twice, a third time when she couldn't help herself.
"oh, yes. i know just how lost you would be without me to keep you in line, eh?" she teased. "who else would let you slip by to get out for a day or two?" she was grinning crookedly now; she couldn't help smiling around benjamin so much when he insisted on looking at her with those heart-breaker eyes, the same eyes he used to persuade her to let him slip out for a little while.
ben's worrying came through fast and clear, though, and tia quieted him with a firm look. "do not be silly," she chided, her voice softer now as she smoothed out a wrinkle in his shirt, looking pensive. "they will not take me. not while you are around. and i will talk to amun, yes? i will convince him to let us go. he can even come to supervise if he wants."

Benjamin smiled yes he was lucky very lucky to not have to live without her because she made the temple bearable the constant disregard from Amun melt away with her presence. He took her hand holding it tightly their hands were meant to hold each others and his hands felt most comfortable when they were holding hers, yes when he was playing around with water or fire they were pleased but they were most content holding Tia's hands. As she leaned closer to him Benjamin smiled leaning into the kisses, it was worth everything all the hassle from Amun about his training, the volturi constantly looking over him just to know that he could spend forever with Tia, yes it would have been nice to grow up a little, maybe have children and grow old but at least here and like this he knew she would be safer he did not have to worry about loosing her except when the volturi were around.
At her comments about keeping him in line he nodded "Hey you know I don't go looking for trouble it always finds me! And you've always been good at keeping me out of trouble so I'd probably be very lost without you, but you already know that!" it was true even as kids she had looked after him keeping him out of trouble that he usually got into anyway and he had protected her that had been his self assigned job. "and besides sneaking out is only fun when you are around if you go on your own it can be pretty boring" This was true he knew for a fact but also why would be want to go anywhere without her, when he could simply take her with him be it with or against her will.
As she told him off for his comments about loosing her he smiled a boyish cheeky grin the one that never aged, though she could never really promise that they would not take her, it was her positivity and assurance that all would be well that made him smile. "They wouldnt dream of it especially with my talents, they'll keep far away if they know whats good for them"He gently pressed a kiss to her forehead "I'll talk to Amun don't worry, he's probably more likely to listen coming from me" it would take a lot of convincing and would probably come down to well we are going and you're more than welcome to join us, but even with that he knew Amun spend the entire night hovering around them so it would not be like they had any freedom. "If we are going to go, it means you're going to want to go shopping aren't you, so I guess I'll have to be extra nice to him see if I can steal us an extra day out too" He added, it was not often she got to dress up and though he hated shopping he knew it would make her happy so with that in mind he was more than happy to go out, also it gave them a reason to get out of here yes it was not ideal for him but it meant not being under the constant watchful eye of Amun for a little while and spending time with Tia then all was good in his opinion.

* settle down it'll all be clear , • DON'T PAY NO MIND TO THE DEMONS THEY FILL YOU WITH FEAR • in her life before, tia had rarely seen a need for parties - she understood the necessity, but had little desire to attend them. all they were to her were reasons to dislike people more. that wasn't to say that she had a bit of a cynical view of people (because perhaps she had, but rarely let it show through - she knew how to be charming enough, after all) but she had come to the conclusion long ago that people tended to show their nastier sides when they were in the presence of many others. she wasn't sure why - maybe they felt safer, like they had more room to hide if they did, or maybe there was some other science to it that she simply had no knowledge of. either way, she didn't like parties.
however, the chance to get out of the temple - to have benjamin get out of the temple - was something she was not willing to give up. the mere idea of this chance slipping through her fingers made her reach out and take benjamin's hand, bringing it to her lips to kiss his palm, rest it against her cheek; she would do anything for benjamin - and if that meant suffering through a volturi ball to see his face light up with the taste of freedom, then she was willing to do that.
"it does mean i will want to go shopping," tia agreed, laughing and rolling her eyes. of course, she'd have to make sure that if she was going to this ball, they were going to be impeccable - there would be no room for flaws, not when they would be swimming in a pool filled with piranhas. wriggling out of benjamin's grip deftly and coming to a stand, she took his hands in hers and tugged lightly, beckoning him to come to a stand. "in fact, since amun is nowhere to tell us no," she began, a mischievous glimmer in her dark eyes, "why do we not go out now? after all, it is strictly business - business of a jovial kind, but business nonetheless." her smile was coy, her tone light as she moved toward the door, still lightly holding benjamin's hand in her own. "and you can tell me which dress looks the best on me, as well. i know how much shopping enthralls you."
ooc:// sorry this took so long to get up! these two are so cute ♥

Benjamin smiled as he watched her kiss his hand carefully before allowing it to cup her face so he could stroke the soft skin of her cheek, she really was the most beautiful person in the world, he knew this was a subjective opinion but the beauty of no other could compare to that of his Tia in his eyes. As she agreed with the fact that they would have to go shopping he grimaced playfully "Can't wait" he joked with a smile, shopping was not his favourite thing to do but if it made Tia happy then he was happy to do anything he would follow her anywhere. When she tried wriggling out of his grip she took him by surprise otherwise he would not have let her escape or that was at least what he told himself even though he knew he had let her go just because he always let her have her own way. Allowing her to take his hands he stood up slowly following her noticing the mischievous look in her eye and he knew exactly what she was thinking, sneak out for a few hours and benjamin was hardly going to say no to that. Most days he would do absolutely anything to escape this place for five minutes as usual the complications of escaping meant nothing to him, all he could see was the fun they were going to have ... yeah it did involve shopping but he could live with that.
"I love the way you think, we can go on a business expedition, having of course no laughter, excitement or fun" He joked mimicking Amun when he listed what they were not allowed to do, the boyish and childish glint returned to his eyes at the thought of getting away even for just a few hours. "Kebi is still around so we will have to be cautious" Benjamin added as she tugged him towards the door talking about how he could tell her what dress looked best on her "That I can do, anything to make you happy, as long as I'm not the one trying the dresses on" Jokingly he kissed her on the cheek before moving in front of her to open the door quietly, looking around for any sign of Amun or Kebi "So ma'am which escape route shall we be using today?" He asked putting on his most posh and highly educated voice, which contrasted the young child from which the voice came from, the two of them knew of many routes in and out, sometimes they even actually used the front door just to be different, after poking his head out again he came back to look at her pressing a kiss to her forehead as he thought about their escape route and which one they were going to use.
Escape route felt like quite a harsh word to use when it came to leaving the temple, but Benjamin had to admit in recent years the temple was feeling more and more like a place in need of escaping and unlike a home, but then again to begin with this place had never really felt like a home to him. If they left however they had nowhere to run to or hide, the Volturi would be on his tail in a matter of months and they really would be stuck so for the moment this was the safest place to be, even if it felt like it was crushing him. "Kebi's coming" he mumbled pulling the door closed so it was only open a jar and placing his back against the door wrapping his other arm around Tia and pulling her closer as the sound of footsteps went past the door "Act natural" Benjamin teased kissing her forehead again, knowing they were fine and undetected but just being a tease and having fun, life was to short not to have fun that had been his catch phrase when he was human, funny enough his life was not too short he had plenty of time, but that would not stop him from having fun.

* settle down it'll all be clear , • DON'T PAY NO MIND TO THE DEMONS THEY FILL YOU WITH FEAR • there had only been a few times in tia's life that she had truly been happy. there was her life before-benjamin, when she hadn't known how happy she could be; and during-benjamin, back when she was a human, had been that time she'd experienced pure, unadulterated happiness. it had been then that she knew she wanted to spend the rest of her then-mortal life with ben. of course, he'd disappeared at one point - without a goodbye, not even a kiss, and tia had felt the money she'd saved up suddenly lose its worth. what was it worth, anyway, if she wasn't going to use it to run away with benjamin? eventually, she had used it, but it hadn't felt nearly as satisfying - and all the while she had been married, she had been aching for the smooth, handsome planes of benjamin's face to wake up to in the morning.
now, she was given the chance to be with him for the rest of their eternal lives, and it was both a blessing and a curse. they would be together - but they were rarely given opportunities to go out and experience the world. they could love each other, but it was always under the careful, watchful gaze of amun, who would much rather have never let tia into their lives at all as a permanent placeholder for benjamin's heart. she is too distracting for you, she remembered hearing him say one time, when he thought perhaps she was too far away. she will put your heart in other places.
but then, tia had thought absently, amun's heart is never in the right place anyway.
"precisely," the dark-haired woman agreed, a coy smile coming to her lips. "this is certainly not an adventure of any kind." a light laugh escaped her when benjamin said that i would be fine, as long as he didn't have to put on the dress; the image of benjamin in any sort of dress made her want to laugh, but she quickly stifled the sound to avoid being uncovered by their keepers.
they were about to make their daring escape when a warning sound caught tia's attention - kebi, somewhere in the house, rousing from whatever rest she was getting - and she was about to say something about it when benjamin pulled her close and murmured that kebi was coming. act natural, he said as he held her close, and if she could have blushed she was sure she would. somehow, even after all of this time, benjamin could leave her feeling a little breathless, a little woozy.
as it was only natural for her, she leaned up and pressed their lips together in a warm, soothing kiss, letting herself indulge for a moment before she pulled back and grinned.
"what?" she asked innocently, batting her lashes and snaking her hand into his. "you said act natural." when the coast was clear, she tugged him forward, making their quick escape into the markets. the city was bustling around them; people from all corners of the world, tia was certain - so when they entered the more modern, up-to-date section of their world, she felt a little overwhelmed, tightening her hand in benjamin's.
"it's been a while," she commented, glancing at store fronts and windows filled with merchandise. "i'm not sure where to begin."

Benjamin was happy having her so close he'd been focused on listening to Kebi's footsteps that the kiss Tia gave him took him a little by surprise, but it was motoring he was going to complain about when she pulled away from him he opened his eyed again looking her over and the sweet innocent look on her face that just made him grin. She was totally innocent and he was the one that always got her in trouble in his eyes, unlike Amun who saw her as the problem and the cause of everything that went wrong. This was something that annoyed Benjamin the most he hated the comments that were made about her, both in front of him and behind closed doors because he knew they were said and Amun also knew that it angered and frustrated him. "That was very natural" he whispered against her lips as they curved into a grin "We should act natural more often" he added allowing her to tug him forwards moving at a quick pace into the busy streets.
As soon as they were outside, he adjusted his hood carefully to others around him it would be seen as an effort to block out the suns intense rays, but it was to prevent the glisten did sparkle of his skin that would reveal him as something unnatural to the world around him. He looked around for a second at the people moving the way they all knew where they were going or what they were doing and feeling quite lost amongst them Egypt was very odd parts of it the market stalls and slums were like when he had grown up and his human life but there were also up to date more urban areas which was where they were now. Looking to Tia he nodded in agreement "too long" he added softly and whilst she looked towards the shops and in the shop windows his gaze turned towards the sky the bright blue of the sky the odd bird enjoying freedom the Thor arid breeze that ruffled the air and caught his face slightly. The outside world, it felt so good to just be out here for a while to get a change of pace and to just see the sky and the world around them.
Turning his attention back to Tia was difficult, he had to tear it away from the sky, but the a gain she was a much more beautiful sight than it "Well I don't mind, take your time" he suggested wrapping an arm around her waist and keeping her close not wanting to loose her, it wasnt that it was really busy and filled with tons of people, but this was still a slightly unknown world to him and one that though he was scared to admit it was afraid of slightly. Unlike in the temple he was not in control of what happened here and though it was stupid he did not want to loose her, not ever so it was his intention to hold her tight and not loose sight of her at all. "You know you will look beautiful no matter what you wear" he whispered silkily in her ear with a smile, "Your beautiful to me no matter what" Benjamin added walking along past the shop windows waiting for Tia to catch sight of something she liked and wanted to go and have a look at this was shopping something he was going to leave to her and just follow around, observe and offer his opinion when she wanted.

* settle down it'll all be clear , • DON'T PAY NO MIND TO THE DEMONS THEY FILL YOU WITH FEAR • tia didn't get nearly as many chances to sneak out; sometimes, when ben made his escape, she would linger behind to make sure she could cover up if amun ever came looking for him. and to be honest, she was more content making sure benjamin got the time he deserved outside than with her own needs. but she'd always been like that when it came to benjamin; it was all too easy for her to put her ben above her own desires and wants, to forget about herself for a while and worry solely about him.
she herself was carefully covered from the sunlight, which was quickly beginning to fade behind the distant mountains. as soon as it was gone, they'd be able to travel more freely - they could lose the cloaks and shop openly, move more comfortably among the people in the city. tia pressed closer to benjamin's side, feeling his arm wrap easily around her waist, and pressed a quick, fleeting kiss to his shoulder before venturing further into town.
as the sun dropped beyond the horizon, and she could lower her own hood. "you know you will look beautiful no matter what you wear," he said, and if she could have blushed, she would have. benjamin had been able to say the mildest, cheesiest compliment to her when they were both human and it had brought a blush to her cheeks. of course, that's because being around benjamin left her feeling as if she perpetually had butterflies in her stomach.
"i love you," she replied warmly, stepping into a store and sweeping her gaze around to survey the gowns. when, at last, she found something that caught her eye - it was a deep blue gown, with gold embellishments on it, long and lovely. "what do you think of this, ben?" she asked, holding his hand now as she moved to inspect the gown, tilting her head to look at him curiously. "after all, i'm going as your date, so you should like the gown as well."
notes: here is the dress. <3

Benjamin followed her silently through the town and the crowds of people until they entered a shop he took down his hood knowing the sunlight would not affect him here and thus did not have to hide from it all "I love you to" he said softly kissing the top of her head as they walked through the shop, Benjamin hated shopping if one was going to escape the temple he could think of a million things he would rather do than shop .. but Tia loves shopping and he would do anything to make her happy. Benjamin also felt like he owed her to do something she wanted, since she could have had a life of freedom but instead chose him because he was just the luckiest vampire around, as she went over pulling a gown from the rack he looked it over. Right now this was the bit he struggled with because she looked beautiful in everything she wore and he now had to find the perfect compliment for every single dress she found, he held her hand stroking it gently with his thumb as he thought.
"Um .. I think it looks great and you would look great in it" He smiled a little knowing that was a pretty bad start when it came to complimenting a dress, but he was a guy and she could cut him some slack he was trying, "Shall I carry it for you so you can continue to look?" Leaning forwards he took the dress from her holding it in his other hand so that he could still still keep a hold of her hand whilst they looked, he did not mean to be but when they escaped the temple he was very possessive of her, mainly because he was scared that if he let go of her he would loose her and that scared him the most he didn't want to live without her. It was childish and stupid he knew, but sometimes people were allowed to be especially him who still lived in the mentality of a fifteen year old when he had been changed "I think and i'm going to repeat myself on this one but you know it's true no matter what dress you choose I will love you in" Benjamin was just glad they were not shopping for him because he really doubted he would be able to wear his usual attire to a ball and he was not a fan of getting dressed up, he would do it because he had to and not because he wanted to.
His plan however was to keep the shopping for him till the last possible moment and make it very quick and brief, he followed her down the next isle of dresses looking through them and trying to show some level of interest when all he was doing was in fact watching Tia, the way she walked, the way that now they are around humans she pretends to breath so they fit in better and so her chest raises and falls in a steady rhythm, the way her eyes flicker from dress to dress and most importantly her lips, the thoughtful expression as she goes through the dress, the glimmer of a smile that threatens to steal on to her face when she finds one that she likes.
