The last thing George wanted to do was admit he was lost, but the thing was .... He really had no idea where he was in the past quarter of a century with the Volturi he had spent most of his time in the library when his presence was not required or he did not have a job to do that was where he went, so all he had really needed to know was the way from his room to the throne room and from their to the library. Today however he had managed to take a wrong turning and had now been wondering the corridors for at least an hour it was very frustrating because usually he had at least one guard following him around subtly whom he could have asked for dictions from, but he seemed to have lost them. This was both frustrating and amusing at the same time or at least it was to George, the guard was probably less happy because someone would have his head for not being here protecting him.
"These can't go on for ever?" he mumbled talking to himself as he readjusted the black cloak of his uniform, he was quite a small guy in comparison to other members and the cloak had always been a size to big for him and he had to reposition it from time to time otherwise he'd stand on it and fall flat on his face. This however was not really a great thing for a member of the Volturi to do because they were suppose to set an example and George had enough of Felix laughing at him for falling over and serving as an insignificant member of the Volturi. Which he was not! If only the rest of the people who lived in this building new his true significance and why he was here, then he hoped they would not question why Aro had brought such a young vampire in both physical and mental aspects into his coven. Still right now he'd even appreciate Felix turning up because at least he could follow him then and find some part of this place that was familiar to him.
George sighed putting his hands in his pockets as he continued to walk along "Come on George, this corridor has to end somewhere and trust you to get lost on a day where there is nobody around" he mumbled half jokingly as he shook his head at his own stupidity and how he really needed to make a map of this place when he had another spare moment and was not roaming the corridors. If anyone asked where he had been or where he was he'd simply explain that he was looking over the maze of corridors that was this castle, but this was just him putting it nicely because it was better to say that then he explain to everyone that he had just spent two hours wondering around lost.

Quinn closed the door behind her as she stepped out of her room. The Volturi’s castle was such a huge place where a newcomer like her could easily get lost. She liked this place though. She liked how people talked about the coven she belonged to. The Volturi was like…God in the vampire world. They were the royal family who made the rules and other covens had to follow their rules. Wasn’t it great to be one of them? Quinn threw herself to the bench with a book in her hands. Becoming a vampire was something she never expected but it turned out so much fun. She could run incredibly fast and she was unbelievably strong. She used to be a weak and fragile girl who only had her mouth as her only weapon. It could be said that she was rather defenseless. But that was Alyxander, not Quinn. She was different now. And she was happy about that difference.
Despite enjoying being a vampire, Quinn found it quite hard to get used to her new source of nutrition. Thinking about sucking people’s blood was creepy to her but she could not resist the sweet, charming smell of blood and its amazing, satisfying taste. She understood it was cruel to kill her kind or what used to be her kind but she just did what she had to do to survive. Yes…to be or not to be. She always loved Shakespeare. Quinn leaned against the back of the bench, sighing badly. She was the most powerful creature on Earth now but why she still felt that she only existed but not living? It was fun to be a bloodsucker but that good moment did not last too long. She realized that wherever she was, the upper class was never the place for her. Her human life was full of tortures and pain. Never did she dare to live like who she really was. She told people what they wanted to hear but why she could not tell what she wanted to tell? That was the joke of fortune, she guessed. Stopping being the least important one was that hard? She guessed so.
The girl walked with her eyes looking up at the ceiling. It was strangely decorated with different paintings and, of course, whatever painted on that ceiling must be very old, probably as old as the Earth. Those paintings made a crazy maze out of the normal corridor. After over a century living in this castle, Quinn was pretty confident that she knew the place like the back of her hand. She knew every turn, every room (except those she was not supposed to know) and every interesting place. It was all thanks to the ghosts. Yes, the Volterra castle was full of ghosts – she saw them everyday wandering around her. Most of them were human. Fate had made them the Volturi’s meals and they were apparently not happy about that. They were everywhere, screaming in hate and cursing sometimes. Some of them were miserable and sad. Quinn listened to their stories everyday and usually they were all the same story: they talked about how happy they were when they were still alive; about their family and children; about their death. Quinn did not really care about them but she enjoyed listening to them as they helped her understand the coven she was staying with. She understood that they were cold and ruthless, especially the Twins; she understood that they gave no second chances; and she understood that the best way to survive in this place was keeping a low profile and never drawing attention. Quinn guessed it was both enjoyable and dangerous to be a member of the Volturi.
Ignoring the ghosts around her, Quinn kept walking. Her gaze fell across the corridor and something suddenly caught her eyes. She could tell that it was not a ghost; in fact it was a young boy. She could not see his face as he was wearing a black cloak which did not seem to fit him so well. Quinn heard someone giggling. She turned to face the wall on left – she found a group of dead people laughing and talking excitedly about a member of the Volturi getting lost in his own…home. Quinn was a bit curious and she glanced over the boy. Could it be him? But why did she hardly see him around? Quinn pride herself on knowing almost everyone in the castle but why she could not recognize this vampire? Looking at the ghosts for the last time, she took a few steps closer to the lost boy. Hey, what are you doing? She paused a bit, looking at the empty wall again then said. You look like you need some…help.

As someone spoke George turned quickly to see a female about his age in the corridor she did not seem to know who he was and that did not surprise him he had been asked to keep quite a low profile which was what he had do and in addition to that he did not really know anyone yet, he was not a very confident person when it came to meeting others. "Just walking .. unless we aren't suppose to be allowed in this part of the castle?" He explained in response to her question feeling instantly worried that he was in the wrong place and that he had broken some rule or done something wrong he was not really one to admit that he was totally lost, but her next statement made him chuckle "That obvious huh?"George repositioned the cloak again before turning to look at her, she was one of the people he had not really seen around, but then again he was still knew around here.
"To be honest .. I'm quite lost" He knew that he had an excuse to be lost because he was new around here, but he hated to admit a weakness, but still if he wanted to get out of this predicament then he really did not have much choice did he. Still it might give him a chance to actually get to know a few people instead of just spending time just him and Sarah or on his own, he could probably do with a few more friends in this coven he had come to understand that this place could be quite dangerous, though he doubted he would put in any of those situations he wanted to know at least there was someone else in this place that had his back. She seemed quite nice this girl, but then again most vampires looked quite nice but then it turned out they were quite evil he had heard a lot about these two witch twins as they were called Alec and Jane he believed their names to be.
"Oh I'm George by the way" he ran a hand through his hair which normally always looked disheveled, trying to give it some sort of order he didn't know who this person was she could be quite an important member of the volturi how was he to know, but whoever she was he wanted to make a good impression, even though he had been lost so that probably had not done him any favours, but hopefully she would understand. This place was huge after all and he knew it really would take him centuries to truly know exactly where he was going, so he was quite proud of himself for at least kind of knowing his way around after twenty five years.

Quinn found the young man quite funny in his huge cloak. Aro always cared about his guards whether they were important or not. Thus, she would not believe that the boy had lived here for quite a while and her master did not notice that the cloak did not fit him so well. He probably was the newcomer. He responded to her question with another question. Quinn smiled amusingly, wondering who this interesting person was. She shook her head very gently. This part of the castle is for…low ranked guard. She paused a bit. He was a newcomer and he did not know this place; that meant he was not one of the low ranked guards. She was not sure if he was even a guard or not, or he was just one of those rare guests of her masters. But he was wearing a cloak so the chances were that he probably belonged to a higher class. Quinn let out some giggles when he showed some worries. Do you really think that you can meet a nice person like me after entering a forbidden place in this castle? She laughed a bit. Her black eyes watched the stranger for a few seconds, to memorize his face and his figure, just in case they would meet again somewhere and she would remember him.
And there it went. He finally came to terms with the fact that he was quite lost. She looked around. It was absolutely quiet. No one, besides the two of them and the ghosts, was in the corridor. All the corridors in the castle almost looked exactly the same so it was understandable why he got lost. She was once like him – lost and worried. But she was different now. Quinn had lived with the Volturi for quite a long time. The castle was always her home though sometimes it did not feel so good to be home, especially when she was nothing but one of the least important people around. She did not have many friends either. She liked to get acquainted with people and stay in a good relationship with them, just in case she got into trouble and probably some of people she knew could help her. Yes, she was practical. Quinn titled her head as her eyes settled on him again. Yeah, this place is huge, isn’t it? Anyone can get lost, especially new people like you. she commented. I can help you get to wherever you want. I know the place quite well. She offered politely, wondering if it was the right thing to do.
Pleasure to meet you, George. Call me Quinn. She smiled. And don’t worry about me eating you alive. I’m just a small guard here. As I said, this part of the castle is for the low-ranked guards. Welcome to my world! She said it without sarcasm in her voice, which was pretty weird as she always seemed to be allergic to her position. The ghosts began to be curious about George. Quinn saw them gather around the two of them, watching the conversation go on. The ghosts of this castle like you. She giggled as she looked around. Her focus switched back to the boy in front of her. How long have you been here? Curiosity was shown in her eyes. She was eager to know why she hardly knew a thing about him like this. Who was he?

George nodded when she spoke about this part of the castle being for lower ranked guards it explained why he was lost he had skipped that entire step being ranked immediately on the middle step which was apparently a very big step and also a reason for some of the dirty looks he was given and for the dislike towards him that some members of the volturi seemed to have. Ones who had been here for years but not progressed up the ladder, this also meant that if she was here it was most likely she was also a lower ranked guard. As she giggled at him asking her question he smiled a little he was quite sure Aro would not be to furious with him, but he did not know the man well so it was entirely possible and then again it did depend on who found him not that anybody knew his true intentions and reasons for him being here and apart of the volturi so he would actually be treated equally so that was a good thing "well I guess I got lucky as you found me" Since she was a lower ranked volturi member if she refused to help him he could always order her to right? he thought to himself remembering that if she refused to be compliant but he doubted that would happen she seemed nice.
"Well I was in the library and then I took a wrong turn I was heading down to the common rooms, but .. well I ended up here" he said with a chuckled giving her his explanation for where he was as she introduced herself as Quinn he smiled "It's great to meet you .. I think i'm ranked somewhere in the middle, but the whole system is very confusing" George looked around at the mention of ghosts wondering where they were and why he couldn't see them and then something clicked in his head "Is that your ability! That you can see ghosts, that's .. That's pretty cool" It was difficult now to not look around and try to find or see the ghosts that might be around here somewhere it would be wicked to have an ability like that and he had not ever met other vampires with abilities the Coven he had come from previously had very few vampires with abilities, so he really wanted to meet more vampires like him. "Oh .. uh I've been here about twenty ish years? but I'm rather quiet and don't really know this place so I've been keeping to the background" That and because that was what I was ordered to do and you do since Aro did not seem like one who was best to cross, now to a human twenty years was a very long time, but vampires it really was not almost like blinking and George was still very much an outcast on the very fringes of the volturi, since he had to keep quiet and low about who he was people found that very untrustworthy and he really did not blame them, but he wished he could get to know them. "What about you how long have you been here? He asked with a smile.
