Alex is Aro's sire. He is also a very old sadistic vampire. He enjoys inflicting pain and watching people suffer. Power is everything to him. He also has an inflated head where he thinks he is some sort of powerful god. He cares for his son only. This is very rare to him as he is basically an empty shell full of violence and hatred.

Perhaps mere acquaintances but he does not have friends. He does not care enough.

Yep, these two must have known each other for long (because Alex is Aro’s sire). Marcus wouldn’t like him because he seriously bears resemblance to Aro: sadistic, controlling, aggressive, etc. Marcus doesn’t like it when it comes to Aro’s personalities but he tolerates and learns to love him because he is his brother in law after all. Marcus will respect Alex but he wouldn’t be his biggest fan. It’ll be interesting to see these two interact. <3
