The sixty eight year old vampire was walking around Forks, like she had done many years previously when she was just a simple yet fragile human being. Being a vampire, she knew the town had changed from when she had last been here. It was something she still couldn’t believe. It had been fifty years since she had last been in Forks, fifty years since she had been human....but it had been for the better that she was not. She was a vampire, was born to be one.
And still everything happened the way it did for a reason. Still Charlie was dead now, so she didn’t have to worry about the fact she was no longer “Chief Swan’s daughter” while in the high school.
Being married and a mother suited her to a “T.” But she often wondered what the future held for them. Forks was a place they kept coming back to, and with good reason. It was home for all of them. Still today she was out by herself. Edward was with their daughter tying to have a father-daughter day, and her other family members had plans so she was out for a walk on her own. It was a quarter to midnight when she found herself walking down a familiar route.
Walking out of the Cullen house, she smiled. It was a full moon tonight. She couldn’t help but wander through the vast array of land, heading for the one place where she always went to clear her head when she needed a moment or two alone. The good thing about being a vampire was she never felt tired. She was on the go all of the time. Between spending time with her large family to just enjoying a quiet moment with Edward, her beloved husband. Of course being a vampire meant a lot of secrets and lies had been brough to the surface, though she often kept her ground. Charlie had taught her more than she could ever imagine. She liked to think that he was smiling down on her from Heaven if that was where he ended up as after he died. If there was such a thing as heaven anymore.
Walking through the area as slowly as a human did, was almost impossible though she had done her hardest to retain that speed since they had returned to Forks. She had known Forks like the back of her hand. School would be starting soon and so that meant she had to be prepared for the endless questions. The one thing with high school, the information was often the same, but the faces—the people were not. Questions were often asked, or even stares. Not that it mattered as she sat with her family and this year her daughter would be joining them. So there would be seven of the family members at their table this year. She knew she was pale, compared to most, but at least now she looked more like her husband and their family did, than she did prior to becoming a vampire. When approaching the meadow, she couldn’t help but feel peaceful. This was hers and Edward’s spot. It was where they spent most of their time together when they were still dating. She had only been there a few minutes when she heard a noise behind her. Now she had been interrupted here once. And that had not ended well for whomever had come beind her, so she hoped she wasn’t finding herself in a trap.
Though it didn’t seem to appear that way when she turned around and when she did, she saw what looked like a simple teenage girl. A human by the looks of it. Her curiousity was starting to get the better of her, though she did her best to actually appear as any other human. Breathing and all. Of course blinking a little helped. Acting human did not take her long at all compared to when she had first become a vampire. Though it was a transition she did well in.Of course because of her strength she did not have to worry about hurting this girl. Like Carlisle, she had been all too strong....unlike some of her family members that continued to struggle with it. She now had understood what Edward had spoken to her about. Of course as a vampire, her interests hadn’t changed that much. Approaching the young woman a smile appeared on her face, though she did her best to keep her blood lust down. It was something she did somewhat easily although sometimes it could present a challenge. Tonight was one of those nights where she had to keep herself in check since she hadn’t fed in a few days. "Hello. You look a little lost. Are you alright?" She asked the younger girl.
