Family meant the world to her and although certain things may have changed, that certainly had not. Her golden eyes scanned the area as she moved through the shadows. It had been fifty years since she had first become a vampire and although not much had changed, some things had. Still her family had lived in peace since. Yet she couldn’t help but get the feeling that things were about to be sparked up again. What with the ball coming up she couldn’t help but be nervous. They had not dealt with the Volturi directly since their near battle when Renesmee was little. She knew all about the risks involved and with that she was slightly nervous. Edward had said they wouldn’t do anything foolish but she didn’t trust the situation. After all, it had been proven that Aro coveted hers, and Alice’s and even Edward’s gifts. She only hoped they could avoid such a fate should it occur.
Forks had not changed much in the last fifty years nor had it’s woods. Which was refreshing as she still remembered every detail of the woods and the surrounding areas. She knew Forks like the back of her own hand. Which was helpful since she and her coven had been away for many years after she had been changed and her daughter had been born. Coming back to the house where it all began was even better, as the memories flowed freely here. And there were just so many of them. Good and bad alike. Good because this was the place where she met her husband and fell in love with him, and had their daughter here, bad because of seeing her father die....of knowing the truth that he did not. However she could not dwell on the past as it would not help her now.
The city was big enough for one family of vampires, but two was cutting it close. Still she remembered how helpful it had been when they had help from other covens when the Volturi had attacked last time and she would forever be grateful for it. Not because they had to actually do anything but just the willingness to come forward and help them, by telling the Volturi the truth, that Renesmee was not an immortal chilld. That particular day she had moved from the Cullen residence out into an area in the woods. It was her hunting ground after all. Smirking she took a look around when she suddenly smelled something. Something familiar. Following the scent she couldn’t help but be curious by it, as it’s familiarity was similar to a scent by one of her own coven members.
Walking quickly forward, soon after she found the reason for the smell. That smell belonged to none other than Eleazar Denali, one of her favorite cousins, to be honest. A smile appeared on her face. “Hello cousin. What brings you down here? Have the others joined you? I didn’t know you were coming....Eleazar but it is good to see you.” She asked as she knew that Carmen rarely left his side, much like she rarely left Edward’s unless specifically asked to. She was curious what her cousin was doing so far away from home. But she was happy to see him nevertheless. She looked around to see that no one was around. Which meant something was up. Carmen and the others did not appear to be around. “How are the others? I haven’t seen them in quite some time. Carlisle and the others will be glad to see you. They’re all doing well...Renesme has grown up so much....she’ll be starting school with the rest of us this year.” She told her cousin with a grin. She was curious what brought Eleazar here.

Fifty years was a long time. Half a century. But it was literally meaningless to a vampire, especially a vampire that had lived a long life like Eleazar. It seemed like everything – the battle with the Volturi and the strange meeting with the Cullen’s child – had only happened the previous day. Time flew so fast. Eleazar Denali had just finished a few personal things in Seattle (he got there to pick up a brand new Xbox which he and Garett had ordered months ago) and he was on his way home. The vampire walked aimlessly around the woods of Forks. He could see the Cullens’ house from where he was but he decided to come there later, he should prepare what to say since this visit of his was completely unexpected. Well, he might just say that he was on his way back to Alaska and just stopped by to say hello. After fifty years, the Cullen’s finally came back to Forks and settled down again. The Denali’s, as cousins, of course wanted to know if their life went well.
The Denali’s and the Cullen’s were extremely close to each other and they considered each other as their extended family, which was wonderful because not only did he have a wife, two sisters and a brother-in-law but he also had amazing cousins. Sometimes, the vampire found the word family pretty ridiculous. Honestly, Eleazar had never thought his life would turn out this way: becoming a bloodsucker and having a family. He ha always believed that he would end up becoming a priest or at least a good mortal man. Everything was beyond his imagination. He remembered his tragic life as a human – the only son of the leader of a bandit group called Pesadilla. It was fun recalling those days. To Eleazar, family was extraordinarily important and it was impossible to make him go against his family. But he betrayed his own parents, for justice, and was nearly killed for what he had done to the Pesadilla. If he had not betrayed them, he would not have been changed into a vampire – he most definitely would have been dead by now. Everything seemed to have been decided, even his fate. Never had he wanted to become a bloodthirsty creature but things just happened and he obviously could not do anything about that. Nonetheless, he was grateful that he had been given this immortal life, because this life had led him to a good life. If the mysterious vampire, whoever it was, had not saved him from death, he would not have been able to find her – the most wonderful thing that ever happened in his life. Furthermore, he would not have been able to know what a real family was. The Denali’s sisters and Garett, who was considered his brother-in-law, had such important roles in the heart of his that stopped beating for so long. His cousins were also a part of his life now. Not only Eleazar but also everyone in the Denali’s had nothing but full respect for the Cullens. They were honorable ones, full of compassion and love – which not every vampire could have. Respect and friendship – that was the reason for his sudden paying a visit to Forks.
Eleazar stopped walking as he heard the sound of footsteps. A sweet scent filled the atmosphere. A smile crossed the vampire’s face as a voice sounded, breaking the silence of the woods. How could he not recognize that voice? Eleazar turned around and his eyes landed on a beautiful young woman whose golden eyes were as bright as the stars and full of cheerfulness. Hola primo. Como estas? He spoke with his Spanish accent and smiled brightly at his cousin as he walked to her. You’re still graceful as usual, Isabella. He shook his head slightly when Bella mentioned his family. I’m afraid they’re not here. I had something to do in Seattle and I’m on my way back to Alaska. Well, Garett and I ordered a new Xbox online; since our home is on a mountain, we thought delivery would be troublesome so we decided to pick it up ourselves. But there were a few problems in the company’s agency in Alaska so I had to come to Seattle to pick up my Xbox; in return, the company gave me a twenty-five percent discount on it. It’s not a long way from Seattle to Forks so I thought I would stop by to say hello. It’s been too long… Anyhow, I think I should apologize for this unannounced visit. He said with his voice full of excitement. Eleazar was pleased to know that the Cullens would be glad to see him again. And the news about the Cullen’s child was something interesting to him. Renesmee was mistaken for an immortal child fifty years ago. She must have fully grown by now. Honestly, he was quite curious and eager to see the change of the child. The ladies and Garett are doing fine. We’ve been looking forward to a good occasion to see you guys again, of course it shouldn’t be another confrontation with the Volturi. He laughed bit then continued. I’m glad to see you and your family as well, mi querida primo. It is good to know that your child is fully grown by now and healthy. She must be as lovely as you are and as intelligent as your husband. Going to High school must be new to her. But I believe she is more than capable of handling it. He smiled. I bet being back in Forks is something nice to your family. Fifty years has passed already. tagged: bella cullen

Half a century had past and she had no idea what to expect. Yes it was meaningless in a certain sense since she had lived for a very long time, albeit not as long as her dear cousin Eleazar but long nevertheless. Of course in the past fifty years she had seen alot, she had become a vampire, had her daughter, and had a near battle with the battle. It had not ended well of course but there could be worse things that could have happened. She did not like how Irina had been killed. As although Irina had gone to the Volturi for believing her daughter to be an immortal child, it had been heartening to realize the Volturi were going to kill her. Seeing Irina’s death was hard, on her. Yes she had made a mistake but she did not deserve that in her oppinion. Irina was still family after all. Of course being what they were, time moved forward, and they did not. Some memories were clearer than others. When it came to Eleazar’s visit, it was unexpected but it was nice nevertheless.
Being out in the woods, it was quiet...too quiet of course. Her own coven had returned to the house they all had loved the most, right there in Forks, and of course she had to thank the covens that had come to support them, especially the Denali’s when the run in with the Volturi had occurred all those many years ago. With the Denali family, they were two of the closest covens she had ever heard of, as the two covens were in a certain sense cousins with eachother. It was perfect really, given her human life had only granted her a small family, whereas the one as a vampire had provided her with just a bittersweet but a larger family nonetheless. Honestly, her life had turned into something that before Edward, she never would have imagined. Of course, being married and a mother had suited her so she could say it was all but meant to be. Her human life had not been a bad one...but it was somewhat different from her vampire life.
To her family was all so important, not because it was a bond with others, but because it meant someone to grow closer with. Still her parents were loving individuals and her mother and father in law were just as brilliant as any she had ever known. She had chosen to become a vampire, because it meant that she would forever be with Edward. She didn’t want to grow old even though Edward would have remained by her side, because eventually she would die, and then Edward would be alone again. It was something she did not want to even think about. But fate had worked out the way it was meant to, no matter what a struggle it took to get to where she was. Given her creator was her own husband so she had more of a loyalty to him than she ever had before. She loved her husband far more than she had ever loved anyone before. As a human she had been an only child, no brothers, no sisters...nothing but her mother, father, and her two step parents. Her heart may have stopped beating but it had not stopped the feeling that was known to her, what love was. And not only was Edward, their daughter, Rosalie, Emmett, Alice, Jasper, Carlisle and Esme the very people she loved with all her heart but so were the Denali’s. They were her cousins and they had been very important figures in her life. She had nothing but love for the Denali family. They had been through so much, when Irina had been killed, and she could only imagine the pain that they had been put through as she felt their loss, because Irina was her cousin after all. The respect and friendship, and love was always there between the two covens, even though sometimes they didn’t always get along, especially when the shifters were involved.
Of course there was a scent she recognized without a shadow of a doubt. Eleazar Denali. Her wonderful older cousin. He was amazing as always, and he could always make her smile. She listened as he spoke his spanish, and a smile appeared over her face. “Hello cousin. I’m good, and I hope you are as well.” She answered him as he had walked closer to her. Still in her years she had learned a little bit of spanish so she could easily translate what her cousin was trying to tell her. “Thanks, Eleazar. You’re looking good these days. How’ve you been? It’s certainly been a while since I’ve had the pleasure of seeing you around here. Oh. Well next time you need to bring them. Esme and the others would love to see them, so would I.” She told him, as his golden eyes were just as entrancing as the last time she had seen them. Yes they were the same as the others who were vegetarian, like the two of them, but she truly believed one’s personality showed in the eyes. It was like the humans said, the eyes were the key to the soul. Though with vampires they didn’t really have the same kind of concept since they were without a soul as Edward once said.
“You and those video game systems, I swear if I didn’t know any better I would think you two were teenagers.” She teased her cousin. She understood his love of the game systems though, but still it was quite fun to tease him nevertheless. “Well yes, that is understandable. Delivery probably would be, I’ve seen your home myself, so I know it’d probably be dangerous for any human that tried to deliver the thing. So you went to Seattle? Ah, to pick up your new toy. Must be nice. That’s good you got a discount Eleazar for all of your trouble.” She smiled as he mentioned why he was there.
“No, it’s not that far of a run...if you think about it. We’ve done worse. But yes, it is good to see you. It certainly has been too long. Don’t worry about it. Granted you must have decided at the last minute otherwise Alice would have told us you were coming.” She took a minute to look at her cousin. He truly hadn’t changed a bit, when it came to his personality, which was a good thing and his flawless complexion hadn’t changed either, but he was still quite an interesting man to spend time around. Of course things were getting better by the day though she could not help but worry about the upcoming ball. She was worried, but who wouldn’t be? “I’m glad to hear they are doing well. Do tell them I said hello won’t you? We would love to have a good occassion to see you and your family again. It has been far too long since both our families have had a chance to just spend time together. Without there being a confrontation from the Volturi to bring us together, of course.” She replied to her cousin as she winked at him. She couldn’t help but laugh as she thought of what Alice and the others would plan for their next get together. “We shall have to talk to Carlisle and Tanya about arranging a family get together, if you will so you guys can see Renesmee.” She smiled warmly at her cousin as she spoke to him. She did enjoy visiting with him.
“Yes, Renesmee is quite a brilliant child. She is..she takes after her father more than I think she takes after me. Though don’t tell Edward how intelligent he is, it’ll all just go to his head. Renesmee is quite the tom boy, of course. Yes, it is. We couldn’t enroll her with us before because she wasn’t quite fully grown to have attended high school until this year. Though I must say, even if she is capable of handling it, it does make me nervous. Not because I don’t think she can handle it but...I just I can’t help but worry. I am her mother after all.” She chuckled lightly. “It’s nice being back, though some things have certainly changed. My parents, and stepparents are both gone now. Died a few years ago. I came back for their funeral...stayed in the shadows while it happened so as not to reveal what I am, but I had to attend, it wouldn’t have been right if I hadn’t. I still can’t believe it’s been fifty years, it seems like it’s only been a matter of days.” She answered honestly as she was hoping that soon the two covens could spend time together again. It would be nice. They could each interract with eachother, like most families did.

Eleazar smiled at his dear cousin when she spoke. Isabella Cullen was a person full of surprises. He had found his cousin very interesting as he saw her for the first time. After a few times talking to her, he learned that the girl sometimes underestimated herself while she was much better than what she thought of herself. Nevertheless, fifty years seemed to have successfully changed something about her. She was much more confident; she even said hello to him and started the conversation first, unlike the shy bride at her own wedding or the worried newborn fifty years ago. Eleazar was glad that Bella had finally become mature enough for a vampire, since the path she chose was full of thorns and it required amazing strength to endure it. Looking at his little cousin right now, he was pretty sure that Bella would handle it well; in fact, she could be better at doing that than a lot of ancient vampires. A gentle smile crossed his face. Fifty years ago, people may have thought Isabella Cullen was a completely harmless and self-defenseless vampire. But now, with all the experience she had gained from the years of her endless life, the mental maturity that she had reached and her incredibly powerful gift, she was someone people should watch out. God had blessed her with a good heart that was filled with love and compassion – which was a good thing because if someone powerful as her chose the wrong path, who knew what the world could have become? My life has been good, better than it was half a century ago. He said in response to Bella. He nodded as Bella suggested he bring his family to Forks next time. I’m sure the Cullen’s and the Denali’s will meet again, soon. Tanya sometimes mentions visiting Forks and we are all looking forward to seeing you guys again. Actually, Garett would have come here with me but Kate came up with something crazy and, whatever it was, my little brother was incredibly excited about it, so I did him a favor and went here alone. Eleazar was pleased to see Bella giving him a very warm welcome, like a real family member. That was a proof to prove that the Denali’s and the Cullen’s had grown much closer. Well, they probably had to thank Bella. In some certain respects, the vampire girl had done a lot of amazing things to bring the two families together – it all began with the battle with the newborn vampires to protect Bella, which the Denali’s refused to involve in, then came the wedding of her and Edward and finally came the confrontation with the Volturi. Everyone seemed to have been tight together. Eleazar had to admit that the bond between the two families was one of the strongest bonds he had ever witnessed. If Bella had never come into Edward’s life, that would not have happened.
Eleazar let out some laughter when he heard Bella comment on his interest in video game systems. He nodded, showing his agreement. The Denali’s always had a good laugh when it came to this topic. Eleazar always appeared to be a gentleman who was absolutely polite and acted properly. Who knew he had a crazy love for vedio games and electrical devices? Of course, apart from his family, not a lot of people knew that fact since Eleazar really did not want to ruin his reputation. Well, Bella was his cousin she was a part of the family now. When I was a teenager, video games had not been invented. What a shame. That’s a huge loss of my childhood so I have to get it back somehow. He joked with a rare childish smile on his lips. He cleared his throat quickly after that and soon got back to his normal image – a well-mannered twenty-six-year-old gentleman. The discount was required by Garett. We could have got a better discount; you know how convincing he is. But we decided that this trip would not very troublesome. After all, it has given me a chance to visit my cousins. He shrugged slightly with bright smile.
You’re right. I had not made up my mind until I reached Forks. Eleazar knew that if he was not certain about his decision, Alice would not be able to see him coming. It proved that future changed all the time, and whatever would come later, it all depended on the present. Likewise, there was no guarantee of an eternally peaceful life for his family, especially when the Volturi’s ball was coming. He assumed that Alice had not seen anything wrong about the ball yet because if she had, the Cullen’s would have told his family about it. He took it for granted that Aro still did not decide what to do to the Cullen’s in the upcoming ball. Aro, the leader of the Volturi, was a cunning viper that attacked without warning. No one should underestimate that old vampire unless they wanted to die. Eleazar learned that from the years working for the Volturi. He had once worked as a messenger for Aro and been close to him. He understood how dangerous that man was. Sure I will. They’ll be happy to hear from you. He nodded and said in response as Bella asked him to tell his family she said hello. Eleazar suppressed a laugh when his cousin winked at him. Never had he known Bella had such a good sense of humor. The family-get-together subject was raised. Eleazar immediately thought of his wife when his cousin mentioned meeting Renesmee. He chuckled a bit, recalling the days after the confrontation with the Volturi; Carmen missed the Cullen’s child, whom she called bebé linda, terribly. That child had a strange attraction that made her hard to resist. Carmen would be overjoyed to see Renesmee again. That sounds like a brilliant idea, dear cousin. I’ll talk to Tanya right away once I get back to Alaska. He agreed with a smile.
Eleazar was glad to know that Renesmee was safe and all grown by now. When he saw Renesmee for the first time, it was hard to consider that little girl as a part of the family. But after all the misunderstandings had been solved, he found out that the little was the invisible string that tight everyone together, just like her mother was. Renesmee being a tomboy was something unexpected to Eleazar. All that he remembered about her was a sweet little girl who always wore dresses and had long beautiful hair. Life was odd, honestly. Bella’s worries were totally understandable. It was natural for every mother to worry about her children. Bella was not an exception. Considering what you’ve told me about her, I think there’s nothing to worry about the little girl of yours. She must be a strong girl, despite her young age and inexperience. Think about your life, Bella, you’ve been through so many crazy things and here you are – alive and wonderful. Nessie is your daughter, she takes after you. She’ll be fine. And she’ll make you proud for sure. A gentle smile appeared on his face. The smile faded a bit when Bella mentioned her parents’ passing away. I’m sorry for your loss, Bella. Wherever your parents are now, cousin, they are very proud of you. He placed a hand on her shoulder. Their little girl has grown into a strong woman.
Eleazar forgot his parents already. He could not remember their faces or their voices. All he remembered about them was their horrible laugh when they pushed him into the deep river to drown him, to make him pay for his betrayal.

She smiled at her older cousin, when he was smiling at her. She felt more confident than she had when the two were first introduced. She had a tendancy to underestimate what she was capable of, especially early on in her life as a vampire. Nevertheless in the last fifty years her whole life had changed, her confidence grew from the shy woman she had been the day of her wedding around the Denali’s to now. Now she was speaking to her cousin, first. She had started this conversation which fifty years ago she wasn’t sure she’d be able to do that. She had been overly worried fifty years ago, but she had matured and grown in her vampiric life. It took a great deal of strength to handle everything that she had seen, and the powers that came with it. She was glad of course that this was the path that was chosen for her as she couldn’t imagine being old and gray, and alone. It would be a horrible existance as she had seen Charlie alone for so many years but was relieved when he had found love in Sue Clearwater. Even from the start she had handled things better than she even anticipated. A gentle smile crossed her face as she looked at her cousin. He always made her smile when she saw him.
She was not the fighter that most of her coven and the Denali’s were, but her shield had certainly helped them all. The path that had been laid before her was full of thorns and the amazing strength it took to endure it was something she never thought she would find. The path she had taken, she had handled it better than most in her situation could. After all she had been able to control the blood lust early on, something of which most newborns weren’t capable of doing. The fact of the matter was, fifty years ago, she had left an impression on others, by her ability to go from someone who appeared to be harmless and defenseless to over time, becoming the vampire she was today. The maturity she had gained within it, from her years of being an immortal, had left her with a very powerful assett. The fact was people should watch out for her now. Especially the Volturi.
She had known from the start that it was helpful to be on the side she was on, she knew that if she had not been on this side, that if she had turned to the wrong path, with the Volturi for example, that the world would have become an even more dangerous place than it was. Though she could not picture that being her life. Not at all. “That’s good, Eleazar. I think all of our lives are better than they were fifty years ago. It was a long time ago.” She told Eleazar honestly. A grin appeared on her face. “Yes, I know we’d all love that. Carlisle has even talked about visiting you guys too. It’s been too long since our families have been under the same roof. Even for a little while. Kate always has some crazy venture she wants to do. But good for her, she has found a good man in Garrett and I am happy for her. But I’m glad you came anyway, even if you did him a favor and come alone.” She chuckled lightly. Time hadn't changed how they cared about eachother.
Of course she had given Eleazar a warm welcome, having had the upbringing she did, she was raised to be polite but to fight for what mattered. As far as she was concerned Eleazar was her cousin and therefore she was going to welcome him, with open arms, as the humans would say. She loved how close the Denali’s and the Cullen’s had become. They were very respectful to eachother and had truly been closer in her time as a vampire. Part of that she was sure had something to do with her in certain respects, as she had brought the family closer together. It had to do with the battle to bring down the newborn army in which the Denali’s had not been involved with due to their own reasons, and then of course came the wedding of hers, and last but certainly not least the birth and confrontation with the Volturi, both of which were linked to eachother.
Then of course, that tight bond had only continued when everything had returned to its peaceful existance. The bond between the two families had only grown since, and she knew for a fact tht if she had not come into Edward’s life when she did, that it most certainly would not have happened.
Hearing her cousin laugh, when the topic was brought to the interest of video games. Sure she had known the allure that it held but never had it interested her the way it had interested Eleazar, clearly. She did not blame him for being interested nor would she tell anyone about it, if that was what he had wanted. She smiled at her cousin. “Yes, I know....it is a shame. I think you and Garrett both are making up for lost time.” She teased her cousin, knowing how accurate it was, the childish smile on his face made her happy. He was happy and that was important. He soon would return to his usual composure, and she smirked as he spoke about the discount. “Of course. I know how convincing he is. Quite brilliant really, but so are you. I learned a great deal from you two. But I’m certainly glad you came by to visit.” She told her cousin honestly as she chuckled lightly. She returned his bright smile with one of her own.
The truth was she knew that without a shadow of a doubt that when it came to the future, her sister Alice was constantly watching out for it. She would have forseen Eleazar coming if he had made up his mind. After all the future could change as quickly as one could flip a coin. Whatever would come next would come next, and both families had to prepare themselves for it. It all depended upon the present, nothing more, nothing less. She knew of course that if Alice had forseen anything about the Volturi or whatever they had in store for the ball, Alice would have told them. She knew this to be a fact.
There was no guarantee that either her family or the Denali’s would forever live in peace but they had to try, every day. The truth was Alice hadn’t forseen anything negative about the Volturi’s ball as they would have sent word to the Denali’s as soon as they heard something about it. This of course made her nervous as she was unsure what Aro was going to do, or try to do. Or what he had already done.
Aro was a snake of course, he was the Leader of the Volturi, and he was quite tricky to be honest. She only hoped that becausae of Carlisle’s friendship with him, that maybe Aro wouldn’t try to do anything without probable cause. She did not underestimate Aro or his intentions but she hoped Carlisle’s friendship would count for something and he wouldn’t try and split her family apart again. Or kill them. She had already told Edward her fears of it, and he had reassured her that Carlisle would never let that happen. She had seen how dangerous Aro could be, not just because of what he had done in the past but everything she had learned about him since then. “Good, it’s been too long since I’ve seen any of you guys. We need to visit eachother more often.” She told her cousin honestly. She could have a good sense of humor when it called for it, especially when it came to her family, and there was no threat involved. Which was a good thing in her eyes.
She chuckled lightly when she thought of the interraction the Denali’s originally had with her daughter. At first they were skeptical, especially Kate and Tanya after what had happened...but in the end Renesmee had won them all over. She would be happy to see her cousins back in Forks. “I certainly thought so, but I hope Tanya agres with it, and I’ll talk to Carlisle once he gets home and hopefully get this started. I can’t remember the last time we’ve all been together without their being some kind of confrontation that we were discussing.” She told Eleazar with a serious tone.
Her daughter was beautiful and she was so happy to have that little girl, to know that she and Edward had created her out of their love. As a mother she was worried about her daughter, more so than a human mother would be. She knew there was more out there than the average mother did. What kind of evil out there, and it was a natural instinct. “I know there is nothing to worry about. Because she’ll be surrounded by our family for protection, though we’ll have to back off a little. I won’t be able to be her mother while we’re in school, so we’ll probably either be sisters or cousins. Something the humans would actually believe without raising suspicions. She is young, albeit despite her inexperiance there are worse things out there.” She smiled softly when she listened to her cousin talk once more. She always enjoyed talking to him.
“Yes but you have to remember I also brought alot of chaos along with it. I’ve seen things, I never imagined existed. You know most in my situation had they known about what I knew...back then would have probably been reckless with the information, would have told someone. But I didn’t. My being alive is because of Edward more than anything I did. He—even when we were apart, when he thought it best to...for us to separate, I envisioned him right there with me...and without that, I think I would have died then. Renesmee is a sweetheart, though she takes more after her father I believe. I am already proud of her. The fact she is able to live, in peace makes my day. The fact she’ll be joining us at the school where her father and I found eachother is a blessing. I am a little worried of course. You know as well as I do that whenever our kind, especially if there is alot of us in one area, new shifters are created....though as you know, our family has a treaty with the shifters. So it won’t be a problem for us, and Jacob will be happy to see us...since he imprinted on Renesmee.” She stated in an honest way.
She could see his smile begin to fade. “It’s okay, they all lived a long happy life with the people they loved. And Charlie found love with Sue, Mom with Phil. I didn’t see Mom and Phil much after I was changed but I kept in touch. Sue and Charlie I saw more often, due to the bond I had with Charlie had been strengthened. You know I really think he knew the truth, to a certain extent. Edward and I—we had told him that Renesmee was our adopted daughter...because Charlie never knew I was pregnant, but the way he treated her, Eleazar, you would have thought he knew....that she was his granddaughter. Though if he did he never said anything. He also didn’t know we were vampires either. For obvious reasons. But thank you. It’s...nice to think of it in that way. How they’d be proud of me, and how I’ve grown into a very strong woman as you said.” She replied with a smile.

Eleazar was glad to hear that Carlisle sometimes talked about visiting the Denali’s. The family-get-together idea of Bella’s was very exciting to him. He was never really close to any of his cousins but the confrontation with the Volturi fifty years ago had somewhat brought them all together. It was going to be nice to the Cullen’s and the Denali’s unite after such a long time being apart. Of course, they did keep in touch; but wouldn’t it be better to see each other? Bella’s comment on his little sister – Kate – made him smile. Yes, I’m happy for her as well, cousin. Garrett is a good man. They are really a pair of tandem cards. Ever since Kate found him, a peaceful day has become something very unusual to us. They often come up with a lot of unimaginable things. Normally, those things are at-home adventures. And the whole family is dragged into their games. You’ll see what I mean when you see them. It’s going to be a lot of fun when the two families get together. Some comfortable laughter escaped his mouth when he talked about his younger siblings. Kate was quite an energetic person, crazy one sometimes. She was like a little sister he never had. Everything about her brought happiness to the family. Now that she had found Garrett – a good man who could be considered to be as crazy as Kate was – the house was no longer cold and empty like it had been. Despite not being very close with her, Eleazar adored his sister so much; he knew he would protect her and never let bad things happen to her, like a true brother. It felt so strange to Eleazar when he finally had a family to take care of. He had a wife whom he loved more than anything in the world, a big sister who always cared about the family – whom he admired wholeheartedly, a little sister and a little brother to keep an eye on. He had been the man who was all about work; but now family was something very important to him – he lived for them and became better because of them. He even had cousins who always welcomed him with open arms. Well, he certainly could not ask for more. Life was too kind to him.
Bella kept on teasing him about Garrett and him making up for the lost time in their childhood when the video games had not been invented. Eleazar then received her compliments to him and his little brother in great pleasure. Gracias, mi querida primo. That is very nice of you to say so. Of course, we also have a lot to learn from you, cousin. He nodded with a bright smile as she said she would talk to Carlisle about the family-get-together topic they had discussed. Bella was not only polite but also very respectful, which was very nice. He was relieved to see that the new life did not seem to take away the good qualities that his cousin had had when she was still a human. Eleazar had seen a lot of insolent and disrespectful young vampires. They gave themselves the right to look down on other people as they thought they could decide fates simply because they drank blood instead of eating food. Becoming a vampire could implant in one’s head the belief that he was the most powerful thing on Earth; therefore, he did not need to be polite or respectful to anyone except himself. Bella was like no others; she was indeed a good soul with a perfectly good heart, although that heart of hers no longer beat.
Her next words proved to him that she was not only a good person, but also a good mother. Eleazar could not help but smile gently at the worried mother in front of him. He did not have the luck to become a father but he was sure that every parent loved their children wholeheartedly. It seemed like worrying was the main daily activity of everyone that was a parent. Worrying that bad thing would happen to their children; worrying that their children would have to face pain and sadness; worrying that they were unable to help when their children got into trouble; worrying that someday the children would grow up and go their own ways, leaving their parents behind. Yes, it was not easy to take are of a child. Nevertheless, nothing could make a mother or a father happier than seeing the child grow up and become better each day. Eleazar never knew that feeling but he was sure it was amazing. I assume it is a hard thing to be both a friend and a parent to your child at school. Of course, the power of a parent is cut in half in your situation. He laughed when teasing his cousin. But I’m sure there’s nothing you cannot do, Isabella. You surprise everybody always. No one can be a better mother to Renesmee than you. He smiled kindly at his little cousin. Dear cousin, chaos is a part of life. You cannot avoid it no matter how perfect you are. Bringing chaos is literally normal; in fact, chaos makes life exciting, don’t you think so? You came and turned Edward’s life up side down. And you made him see the true meaning of the life, just like Carmen did to me. I believe Edward had waited his whole life for someone troublesome like you, Bella. He said with joy in his voice. Another smile appeared on his face when Bella mentioned her daughter again. A blind could see she was very proud of her little girl. His smile turned into a grin when she said Renesmee was imprinted on by Jacob Black. Eleazar had learned something about the shifters and of course he knew about the whole imprinting thing. That was very interesting. Due to all the problems between shifters and vampires, Eleazar was pretty sure that it was not comfortable for both Edward and Bella to come to terms with the fact that their daughter was tight to a shifter by a strong, invisible bond. Life’s odd, isn’t it? He commented. Well, at least we can be sure about two things: the Cullen’s will be safe here and Renesmee will be taken care of.
Bella’s reply brought back the smile to his lips. She was such a strong one. Eleazar never said it out loud but he admired Bella’s mental strength very much. To endure the life she chose to live, it required an unbelievable strength. If what happened to her had happened to someone else, he was pretty sure that they would give up quickly. He really did not know where she got all the strength to get through the chaos in her life. It is not easy to go against the world to be with someone who can end your life anytime. It is not easy to choose to give up your own life to save a baby’s life, especially when it hurts you terribly and you don’t know what it is, or could be. It is never easy to feel fine with facing the death to protect your loved ones. And of course, it is not easy to come to terms with the fact that people you used to love so much are no longer by your side. To do all of those things, you have to have great bravery and a great love. Bella managed to do them all very well. I’m glad to know that they all had a happy life. They absolutely deserved it. Charlie is a good man. I wish my father could have been a bit more like him, honestly. Having a father who was the leader of a bandit group is not something enjoyable. He admitted. Your father and everyone that you loved are watching over you and your family. tagged: bella cullen

Post by Bella Cullen on Apr 8, 2013 9:09:21 GMT -8
The truth was, the two families were not so different from eachother in all respects. With the Cullen family, their family had grown in number, as had the Denali’s. Some had been gained and lost and yet in some ways things were the same way they always were. The two families were as close as any cousins could be. The idea of getting both families under one roof, even if it were for a short while was a fantastic idea, at least in her oppinion and at least Eleazar seemed to agree with him. She had loved the Denali’s, they were family. Sure she wasn’t as close to them as perhaps the other members of her family were, but that didn’t matter. She would always welcome them with open arms. That’s what families did when a member came to visit, at least that’s how it was when she was growing up. Sure the two families kept in touch over the years through letters and phone calls, but it wasn’t the same as actually being around each other in the physical sense. She thought it would be better to see eachother in person no matter the consequence.
Seeing Eleazar smile made her happy. She always was happy when the others around her were, in certain respects she took after Esme on that point. “She deserves it, to be happy so does Garrett. I could see it when I saw the two of them together, they’re alot alike, very wild if you ask me. I can’t imagine peaceful being a word to describe the two, they seemed to always test eachother somehow. Unimaginable things, like what have they done recently?” She was curious as she did want to know what they were up to these days. It was just something she had carried over from her human life. The fact of caring for others had not decreased, in fact it had only grown.
“I look forward to seeing them, I can imagine it’ll be a lot of fun, something that should have been done a long time ago.” She couldn’t help but chuckle as she knew how wild her own brothers and sisters were, especially Rosalie and Emmett. They were all older than her so she didn’t have the feeling of being an older sibling to anyone. But even as a younger sister to the others, she was quite protective. Her shield had been more than enough to help them when they were faced with the confrontation with the Volturi. Kate had been very beneficial to helping her develop it, though it had been a bit aggrivating when she couldn’t get it to work at first, and Kate had threatened her daughter’s life and had told her she was going to use full power against Edward. Something had sparked in her then. She knew that Kate was not all that serious about really hurting Edward or Renesmee, but it was the thought that had provoked her to keep going. To try to get the shield to work, to expand beyond herself and it had worked.
Before joining Edward and their family, she had been an only child. There had only been her and her parents, as well as her stepparents. Albeit she was not as close with Sue and Phil as she was with her own mother and father but she had loved them nevertheless. The one thing she had always known was that it was a loving family that Edward had, even for vampires, they were the loving and kindhearted group. It was one thing she had respected and loved them even before she had married her husband. She had to admire the entire family, even the Denali’s. The way she thought about this whole thing was that she was born to be a vampire. Nothing else in her lif ehad made sense prior to being with Edward. She was no longer this fragile and defenseless human she once was. Life had been kind to her as not only did she have wonderful inlaws, but two sisters and two brothers, along with a beautiful little girl and a husband she could not be prouder of. She even had cousins who were more than kind to her even when she hadn’t known them very well at all, fifty years ago. She lived for her family now more than for herself.
Teasing her cousin was something she would have done, whether they were vampires or not. “You’re welcome, cousin. But you have a lot to learn from me? I think I have learned more from you and our two families than anything I could ever teach anyone else.” She replied to her cousin with a bright smile of her own. She had always known to be repsectful of others, as in the way her mother and father had raised her, she was to be respectful. Not just to those who were older than herself but to everyone in general. It was one of the things that she had not lost when she had been turned into a vampire. A lif e she was prepared for. Sure she could have been disrespectful, if she had wanted to, but that wasn’t the kind of woman she was. Not the kind of woman she had wanted to be. Sure her heart was no longer beating but it didn’t mean that she didn’t use it. She had a very strong love for her family, no matter how close she was to certain family members.
Being a parent was something that had brought her unspeakable joy. Sure it had been scary at first as she had never been shown the proper way of taking care of a newborn, not that it mattered really as it seemed to come to her and Edward naturally. Being a parent had brought her happiness she never thought she would have. She was never the type to believe she would have been a wife let alone a mother, but being both....was something she was proud of now. Worrying came naturally to her, especially because she was a mother, though even if she was not, she would be worried about her husband, her siblings, and her in laws. They were her world as much as that beautiful little girl of hers was.
She knew she could not protect her daughter from everything but....she had to at least try. But she wasn’t alone, Jacob would help. She knew that, even if she had not liked the fact that Jacob had imprinted on her daughter, had a wolfy claim on her, it had grown on her. Jacob was a good man, too, just like Edward...and she could not imagine anyone else being with her daughter now. It was not easy to take care of a child, especially as humans, but as a vampire, it was even more tricky. Because there were so many rules. Nothing had made her happier than to know that her daughter would live for a long time. Renesmee was a beautiful and smart young woman, now. She was more of an adult now, than a child, at least by appearances. Though to her, Renesmee would always be her little girl. It was an amazing feeling, just to see how happy and healthy Renesmee was.
“It’s something new, I’ll say that. But I wouldn’t have it any other way. Sure my power if you will, is cut in half as I can’t really be her mother inside the school. But that does not mean I can’t protect her even when we’re there. She’ll be surrounded by our family, while we’re in school. Just like when she’s at home. Though we’ll give her her space too so she can have the same kind of experiance like I did when I was in high school. You know so she can grow and have her own friends, but that doesn’t mean we won’t be looking out for her. We know things that she doesn’t.” A chuckle escaped her lips as she thought of all the things she had seen and been through in high school the first time around. It was enough to give Charlie a heart attack.
She had been a Junior in high school when she had met Edward, and so it was a different experiance all the way around, her first two years were relatively normal, compared to the last two. “Thank you, cousin. I didn’t realize I’ve surprised everyone all the time. I appreciate that, cousin. I’ve tried to be the best mother I can be.” She loved how they could tease eachother and still at the end of it all smile at eachother, like most cousins could be. “Chaos might be a part of life, but I’m not perfect. Believe me, I have made alot of mistakes along the way. Even as a vampire. But you’re right, I suppose it does make life a little more interesting. Well believe me the feeling was mutual. He turned my world upside down, and I was....well I was very stubborn. You know he tried to keep his distance from me when we first met, and then my being in danger all the time. He had no choice but to step in. My blood called out to him, that’s how he described it. Before Edward, I...I had no idea what I was going to do, or where I was going to go. I was living but never really living until I met him. I was quite troublesome, and stubborn....but I don’t think he would have had it any other way. I know I wouldn’t. Carmen, is a beautiful person both inside and out, and I’m glad she made you see the true meaning of it. Everything happens for a reason, and we just have to believe in that.”
There was a joy in her tone, as she loved her family and would do anything for them, even her cousins. All they had to do was ask. Of course when it came to family there were certain things that obviously had to be dealt with when shifters were involved. Especially given Edward's dislike for Jacob especially.
At first when Jacob had imprinted on her daughter, it was not a good thing. Edward would have liked to see her rip Jacob to pieces, but even as angry as she was, she just couldn’t do it as Jacob had been her oldest friend. She was going to live her life like every day was the last, it was the only way to keep herself strong. There was an invisable connection between Renesmee and Jacob, which was something that she did not completely understand though she knew it couldn’t be helped as she recalled Jacob explaining what imprinting was. There were two things she was absolutely certain of, they were back where they needed to be and that her little girl was safer here than anywhere else. “Yes that is true. But you know this place has always been home for all of us for as long as any of us can remember.” She smiled as she thought of it. It was here where she had met Edward, married him, and had their little girl. Not to mention it was here where she met the Denali’s.
Sometimes the strength was not so easy to come by. But she drew it in, from her family. Living through what she had seen, and been through, it required an unbelievable amount of strength. When she was first turned, she had leaned on her family probably more than she anticipated she would. She’d even leaned on the Denali’s when it came to learning her ability and using it. Though it did not mean that things came to her easily. She struggled though she had done what had come naturally not to let it show. Sure, there were drawbacks when she was human, to know without a shadow of a doubt that Edward could have ended her life at any time he had wanted to. But in the end, she had given up her human life to save that of her daughter’s. It was hard to handle being pregnant, knowing she was growing weaker while her baby was growing stronger within. The fact of the matter was, she had to face death knowing that there was a chance she might not be able to be turned if things went south. Of course in the end she was turned, and given an immortal life, a chance to be with the people she loved, forever. It took strength and bravery, not to mention love, to do that sort of thing. To go through everything she had. It was something that before meeting Edward, she wasn’t so sure she had.
“Yes they did. Charlie was a great man....he always knew how to keep the peace, though I must admit it was quite amusing when I was human and both Jacob and Edward were fighting in front of our house. Charlie came out to separate the two. Of course he didn’t know that he was stepping into a fight between a vampire and a shifter, but....it was quite amusing nonetheless.” She sighed as she listened to her cousin, he’d never been one to talk about his biological family....so she was curious.
“I can’t imagine that was very easy. I can tell from your tone, that he wasn’t exactly a kind man.” She replied knowing better than to elaborate further into what she knew to be a conversation he might not want to get into. ” I hope so I really do, but I only hope that whereever it is that they are, they’re in peace.” As she had never really known if there was a heaven or a hell, but she hoped where Charlie and the others were, that it was a peaceful place, somewhere where they could look down on their loved ones, similiar to what she knew that her Gran had done when she had passed on.

Post by ELEAZAR ÁLVARO DENALI on Apr 11, 2013 4:44:36 GMT -8
Eleazar was actually enjoying the conversation with his little cousin. He was not the type of person who enjoyed talking but he extraordinarily felt comfortable when talking to Bella. If Irina had been alive, she would have liked Bella very much. But for the misunderstanding between his sister and the shifters, who had killed Laurent to protect Bella, he could imagine she and Bella would have become friends, just like the rest of the Denali’s. He let out a sigh though a smile still lingered on his lips. He missed Irina so much. If only she had still been here. As Bella mentioned Kate, Eleazar thought of the mischievous look on her lovely face when she was up to something. It was a warning that everyone should be prepared for something crazy, which would happen unexpectedly anytime. He let out a laugh as he heard Bella’s question. Wild is a good word to describe them. Childish sometimes as well. He chuckled. My family joined them in their treasure hunt last week. Just like Peter Pan and the Lost Boys. You apparently cannot find a lot of fun stuff to do in the mountains. Garrett drew a map of Mount Mckinley and marked and numbered different locations on the map, where we would get the instructions to figure out where to go next. It would have been duck soup if the instructions had been written in English or at least some understandable languages. They were full of hieroglyphics. All of us had to struggle with them for a while. Garrett said he had been inspired by one of our video games. He tried to suppress a smile when he said that. There were two teams. Tanya and I were a team; Carmen and Kate were the other one. We had to go round and round the mountains in search of the treasure. The last team to find the treasure would have to do chores all week. Talking about this, Eleazar’s smile quickly became rather tragic. We… Tanya and I… came second in the game. Eleazar absent-mindedly smiled as he recalled the previous week. Since Tanya was his big sister and also a lady, he had decided to be a gentleman and do all the works. And the sisters had ganged up on him again, with Garrett’s joining them that time. His wife and his adoptive siblings were very amused to see him sweep the floor, clean the house, do the gardening, carry bags for the ladies when they went shopping. Normally, everyone shared works with each other; but it seemed like they had had a week off. Eleazar had never thought he would get stuck in such a funny situation. Honestly, doing chores was not so bad; in fact, it was fun in some respects, especially when it had given him a chance to be close to his family. Anyhow, the frightening week was soon over and no one could be happier than Eleazar. Everything turned out kind of fun in the end.
He nodded and smiled as Bella said she was looking forward to seeing Kate and Garrett. He had seen Bella and Kate being under the same roof – quite amusing, a lot of excitement. Remembering the training for the confrontation with the Volturi, he could not help but chuckle. Never could he forget how hard his mischievous sister had tried to anger Bella, so as to help her control her shield. Eleazar remembered having to suppress his laugh while watching Kate use her gift and shock Edward. They said your best friend could become your worst enemy and your worst enemy could become your best friend. Daring to mess with a newborn, only Kate could do that. She was very helpful in the training. At last, everything worked out eventually – Bella had finally managed to use her shield to protect her family and friends before they faced the Volturi. She and his sister, of course, had become friends. Fifty years had past. Eleazar wholeheartedly hoped that this peaceful life would continue forever and Bella would never have to use her shield again.
Eleazar shook his head slightly and smiled compassionately at his cousin when she seemed to be surprised when hearing he claim that he had a lot to learn from her. Confident as she was now, humility was still there in her – in her eyes and her heart. What a good girl. A good life was definitely something she deserved. None of us is perfect, mi querida primo. Learning is something has no end. We can live for over a thousand years but we’ll still have things to learn. Like I said, you are full of surprises. Keep that in mind, cousin. Never underestimate yourself. He leaned down to look at her in the eyes the straightened up and smiled. Truly, there was a thin line between humility and inferiority; just like there was one between confidence and arrogance. Looking at the young vampire in front of him, whom he called his dear cousin, he could be sure that she would never lose her way, never get lost in the path she chose to go; no matter how many challenges and threats were hiding in the shadows, waiting to cut her into pieces and break her down. She was indeed a strange yet special girl. No wonder why Edward had fallen for her at the first place – he had chosen her, not anyone else.
When it came to the parenting topic, Eleazar was quite curious and interested. He never knew what it would be like to take care of his own children. He wanted to try worrying about his kids and being proud of them. What a shame that he would never be able to know that happiness. Despite always wanting a child, he never mentioned it to Carmen because he knew that she wanted the same thing and it would only make her depressed if he ever made any reference to such a thing. Nothing was for free and the immortal life was not an exception. He was glad that Bella had not missed such a great thing as having a kid of her own. Many vampires wanted to have the same luck as she did but none of them seemed to be lucky or strong enough to endure the difficulties she had been through. Besides, not every vampire could stand the fact that a shifter actually imprinted on her daughter. They say that mothers know best. And yes you do. He commented as Bella talked about the way the Cullens looked after their youngest member at school. They knew when to tight up and when to loosen up. They knew the best way to bring up a child who was apparently living in a certainly crazy world. He let a smile cross his face and listened to Bella’s sharing her thought about her life. She had thorough feelings for every single event in her life, which was a good thing. The name Carmen was mentioned and it made him very pleased to hear Bella compliments for his wife. Yes, I suppose we never know what God plans for us. But we always an believe that everything will turn out unexpectedly perfect. Eleazar looked aimlessly around the woods – it was true: Forks was the Cullens’ home and it would always be. What Bella said made him think of Alaska in a sudden moment. He would head home soon. He missed it too much already.
A chuckle gently slipped out of his lips. He was trying to imagine the moment when Bella’s father, chief Swan, stepped into the fight between a vampire and a shifter. That man was indeed a respectable and honorable man. Bella must have taken after him in that part. Sure thing. I wish I had been there to witness that amusing scene. Your father must have been respected very much, according to what you told about him. He uttered in an amused tone. Eleazar noticed that what he had said about his biological family made Bella rather curious. She was not the first one to be curious about his background story. The only person who knew all the story was Carmen. Eleazar had no problem with sharing it but it was simply very difficult for him to do so as it reminded him of who he once was – the only son of a killer. No, it was not easy. In fact, living with my father was like playing Temple Run – you would always have to avoid him, stay away from him, run for your life as fast as you can. And the difference about this game was that you only had only life. He smirked sarcastically as the stream of memories flowed in his mind. Eleazar decided to tell nothing more about his father as he did not want to waste his time thinking of the person who gave his own child the capital punishment. The vampire shifted over to another subject. Cousin, I happened to hear from a friend of mine in Volterra that you sometimes paid a visit to the Volterra castle. Is that true? Eleazar titled his head as he asked. There was no emotion in his voice but there was curiosity in his eyes. Of course Bella could go anywhere she likes. But what made him concern was the Volturi, especially Aro. Who knew what that man had in mind?

The fact of the matter was she was enjoying the conversation with her older cousin. She knew that Eleazar was not the most talkative of her cousins but situations like this she felt that he was attempting to at least and that was what had been important. The one thing she could sense about her cousin was that he was enjoying the conversation as much as she was. She was always easy to talk to, she made it easy. She had never hated Irina, not in the scheme of things. She had made a mistake, yes, had put their entire family in danger, but she had made a mistake. She felt that maybe they would have gotten along fine if it hadn’t been for the fact that Laurant had been killed by the shifters, the Quileutes, they might have been friends even. She wished that could have been the case.
A smile appeared, part of her felt guilty for not shielding Irina in the moments before her death but she had no idea that they were going to kill her right then and there otherwise she would have done so. Though she should have done it anyway but she was still upset about what had caused it all to think clearly in that moment. She still loved and respected the deceased family members of the two covens, even if she had not been particularily close to either one. The ones she had met were the ones that the Volturi and shifters had taken their lives from them, and so in a sense she understood how the Denali’s might not openly like the shifters the way others of their kind did, but she had loved Jacob as more of a brother and therefore had gotten close to the pack due to their friendship.
The only thing with the shifters was that if Laurant had not threatened her life, he would have still been alive and if he had been alive he would have seen to it that Irina did not act quite so irrationally in the way she had, which might have saved her life as well. Still, everything had happened the way it did for a reason and she had to accept that. Kate and Tanya, as well as Carmen and Eleazar were definitely unique in terms of cousins but they were still important to her even if she had not known them as well as the others in her own family had. She could hear her cousin’s laugh and let one out herself. “Yes, well, wild I can handle. Childish, well who isn’t once in a while....? A treasure hunt? What kind of treasure hunt exactly?” She asked her cousin now curious.
She remembered Peter Pan and the Lost Boys from the Disney classic, one of the movies she had grown up with. “Ah so Garrett was in charge of the whole thing? I can see how that might have turned out. But I bet it was a lot of fun. Hieroglyphics? That sounds even more fun. It also does not surprise me he got the idea from a video game. Though I probably could not translate what they said. Figures Garrett would make it a little more complicated. I swear sometimes I think he and Kate do that to drive the rest of you crazy. But at least you guys have fun around eachother and I think that’s a good thing. Maybe if we get the entire family together, we could do something similar. Make for bigger teams or something. Have a little family competition, what do you think? Think anyone else would participate?” She chuckled lightly as she said it. She didn't know how he'd react.
She had no idea who would even win if it came to her own family in something like that. Of course she knew the woods well, but with hieroglyphics it was something else altogether. “I’m sorry you lost cousin. I know that it’s not fun to do every chore around the house....” She knew sometimes how difficult that could be even if their house didn’t have alot of food laying about since none of them could really eat....and even in her own household, only her daughter ate. She could imagine the kinds of things that Eleazar had done around the household due to the fact he’d lost the game. “Well at least you had fun, that’s the important thing.” She told her cousin honestly. It was quite amusing the last time she and Kate were under the same roof. She could never repay Kate enough for helping her to control her shield, though she did have to make it up to Edward later, apologizing for not being able to stop her sooner which Edward only understood. She knew that Kate’s power was quite difficult, and therefore painful...so it could not have been easy as even she had seen Kate’s power used on her husband. The fact that Kate dared to threaten her daughter of course, she hadn’t been serious but it had pushed her over the edge in order to control it. Of course she had called Kate crazy, but that was what she had been acting like. The truth of the matter was, it was like the old saying, your best friend could become your worst enemy and your worst enemy could become your bst friend. Kate however was extremely crazy for having messed with her mind like that when she had been a newborn. But thanks to Kate’s help, she had been able to use her shield to protect not only herself, but her family and friends as they faced the Volturi. Of course, it was something else altogether different now. She and Kate as well as the rest of the Denali’s were friends which was a good thing, and cousins too. She hoped the peace would last but who really knew with the Volturi plotting something. Anything was possible. She knew that peace would not last forever no matter how much they might hope for it to. But if a fight did happen she would be the one to use her shield yet again.
When the topic came to learning things from her, she was surprised of course as she was so much younger than her cousins and even the rest of her family, save for her daughter. She had grown a bit more confident over the years, though she was still humble, and had showed the humility that most wouldn’t have. It showed in her eyes as well as in her heart. She was truly a good girl, as her family had said. There was not a moment where she doubted her place, not a moment where she doubted where her life had been. “Yes, I know cousin. No one is perfect but I can tell you that I’ve learned more from everyone else than I think they’ve learned from me. You’re right though that learning does not have an end. Life is full of surprises, and I guess I’m no exception to that. I promise I’ll keep it in mind. And I’ll try not to underestimate myself.” She told her cousin as he looked into her eyes. He was taller than her so he had to lean down in order to look into them. She had never felt more confident than she did right then.
She had help though with gaining her confidence and it was helpful to have such a loving and supportive family behind her. Being a wife, and a mother had helped to keep her on the path she was on. No matter how many challenges and threats came her way. There was no telling how it would all end up, though she was sure many things were possible that could metephorically cut her down, more so than physically. She knew she had been different from others before her as she had been able to withstand being around humans so quickly compared to the others in her family, having met with Charlie not too long after she was turned. It was one of the things she was proud of. She was special at least that was what Edward had told her and she had come to believe it.
She was proud of her little girl, there was no denying it. She felt everyone should have the same chance that she had, whether with one of their own or having adopted one. Of course she couldn’t very well bring that subject up to certain members of her family due to how depressed they could be and the last thing she wanted was to upset them. Especially her sister Rosalie. Not a day went by that she wasn’t happy to be a mother, even with all the worrying that came with it as she was proud to be a parent. Nothing came for free, she knew that. And because she was a parent she had to think of her daughter more so than just for herself. She had been fortunate to have had her daughter when she was still human. Even though she had been changed the same day that her daughter had been born. The truth of the matter was, she was one of the few, from what she had seen to have had the chance to be a parent, to a flesh and blood child like her daughter was to her. But still adopted or otherwise she would love any child that came into her family much like her family had loved Renesmee. Still it did not come without it’s difficulties. The pain that she had been through had been excruciating but it had all been worth it. And she would not mind going through it all again if it meant seeing her beautiful baby girl all over again. Her daughter had grown up way too fast in her eyes. Edward had been with her when they had discussed that between the two of them. “I do what I can, just as any mother would. But at least I never have to worry about her being completely alone if I miss a day at school because most of her aunts and uncles attend daily, except when the weather forbids us....” A smile glowed on her face as she talked about things with him. It was nice to have a conversation with someone other than Edward or even Alice.
“No we don’t. But as long as we stick together everything should be fine. It’s....what families do, right?” She had loved Forks, and she always would. She had truly treasured each moment she was able to be in the familiar city. Where her heart belonged. Even though she had moved from city to city with the family, no city had called out to them, that it would be home, the way that Forks was. Much lik Eleazar and his family’s home would always be in Alaska. It was that simple. She was sure he missed his home terribly by now. As she knew she would be if the situation were reversed.
“Oh yes it was amusing. But he was a very respectable guy, not just because of what he did for a living but how he helped people. Though I’m glad he never knew quite the extent that I did about Edward. I think he would have had a heart attack. He nearly did when Jacob revealed he was a shifter. That was also kind of hilarious. I felt sorry for him. Because I can just imagine how he took it.” She smiled softly as she looked at her cousin. When the conversation turned back to Eleazar’s biological family she sighed. She could see that it was hard for him to talk about. “Yes well, I suppose everything happens for a reason, even if the reason isn’t always understood. But of course only you would bring video games into the scenario. I guess the good part now is that you have a better family than the one you grew up with. More people in your life that would rather help you than to see anything bad happen to you, cousin.” She smiled knowing that he was trying to shift the focus from his horrible past that she could see, from his tone and from how little he wanted to talk about it. She would respect that though.
When her cousin shifted over to another subject, this was where it got interesting. “I have a couple of times, by myself. To Italy that is. Of course once I go there, only twice have I ended up in Volterra. Though I already know what you're going to say. That I shouldn't have done it, even if I can partially protect myself with my shield.” She would elaborate more if he had asked but for the most part she didn’t want to worry her cousin more than he probably would be now that she had told him the truth. At least she had never been in harm’s way. She'd only gone twice, by herself. The first trip had been about twenty five years after their battle with the Volturi....and Irina's death. Why she went then was because she had wanted to go to Italy to get something for Alice and Rosalie for Christmas.
That of course had led her to being escourted to the castle by the Guard once they saw her in town. It had not been a bad visit but it was short and to the point. The next trip to Italy had been only ten ago, though the last trip hadn't involved going inside the castle's walls. Though she had been seen in the city, obviously otherwise Eleazar wouldn't have known about it. She still did not trust Aro either, part of the reason why she wasn't looking forward to going to the ball now. She never would trust him.

Childishness. Of course, who had never been childish once in a lifetime? The thing that mattered here was that people only acted childishly in front of those they felt comfortable with. Eleazar was not an exception to it either. Talking to Bella was something he could do without awkwardness. He enjoyed her teasing as well as their conversation. He was glad to have such an adorable little cousin like Bella – who admitted that she was younger than him, both physically and mentally, unlike Kate. Eleazar – a twenty-six-year-old man or at least that was what he looked like – enjoyed being an adult and taking care of his younger family members. He wanted to be the one whose responsibility was looking after the little ones in the family, like his younger siblings and cousins. Probably it was because he was very protective and always worried. If he had had a child of his own, he would have been an overly protective daddy to the child, which might cause him or her annoyance. But it was not his fault to like seeing his family being safe and sound. Everyone wanted the best for their loved ones; he just did the same thing. Eleazar nodded to Bella’s saying with a smile. I blame Kate for infecting me with her childishness. He grinned as he mentioned his little sister. The treasure hunt brought a lot of memories to hi mind. He could not say that he had not had a great time dealing with Garret and Kate’s crazy game, because he had. Honestly, he hoped they would come up with something else soon enough so that he could revenge. Meteor Rain. He said shortly in response to Bella’s curiosity. The instructions led us to the top of the mountain where we could have the best view to enjoy the show. He must have looked for the information about the meteor rain before arranging the whole thing. He smiled as he explained. Garrett, much to my surprise, is quite a romantic person. It was one of his ways to bring the family together. What a good man. A playful grin grew on his face. He was so proud to have such a good brother like Garrett. With Garrett’s being with Kate, he would not have to worry about his sister anymore.
Bella seemed excited to know about the whole treasure hunt thing and he was glad she liked the idea of arranging such a game. Old as they were, they still could have fun. Age was a meaningless number to vampires because death could not touch them at all. Being young forever was a lot of fun, though it did come with a price after all. Eleazar nodded, agreed with Bella when she said Garrett and Kate had done their best to drive his family crazy. The vampire was quite thrilled when his cousin suggested playing the game again with the Cullens joining it in the family reunion. It was a great idea. That sounds like a perfect plan! Garrett will be so happy to come up with something even more evil to torture us. It’s been too long since the two families last had some fun together. We’ll definitely have bigger team and of course, more interesting punishment. He blinked a few times with a bright smile. He nodded slightly when Bella said about his losing the game. It had been for fun after all. And they had had fun – that was what really mattered. He could do chores for another week if the Denali’s could have so much fun like that. You’re right. Honestly I had never been in a treasure hunt until Garrett came up with that whole thing. His childhood memories were not the best ones which were worth remembering. When he was a child, there had not been a lot of games to play since children had had to grow up very soon. At the age of fourteen, girls had got married and boys had had to work already. Life had been tough at that time. People had believed that it was a miracle if a child lived through his fifth birthday. Lives had not been treasured properly and parents had not thought that taking care of their children was a duty, unless they were rich. Eleazar had been born in a special family. The Bolívars had not been poor and they could not have been considered rich. Simply because they had been robbers. The fortune they had made was not theirs. Eleazar believed that the only game he had ever played in his childhood was watching horror movies starring by his own parents and their victims. It had not been amusing at all. But he was glad it had been over.
Immortality gave everyone who had been given it a duty: learning. The world changed in the blink of an eye. If vampires did not learn, they would fall behind, although it was correct only when it came to their social life. Nevertheless, no one could live in a mountain forever, despite the fact that it seemed to be a good place to hide from the modern world. Three hundred years of age had taught Eleazar the eagerness to learn. He learned from everyone, everything around him. Now that internet had been invented, learning had become much easier. Of course, what he had to learn was not only the general knowledge of the humanity but also the way to treat people. No one was perfect, he was not either. Everyday, he collected some pieces of knowledge from his surroundings and tried to enrich his own knowing about the world. Bella was one of the people that he thought could teach him a lot. Just watching the way she lived, the way she talked and the way she chose to see life – everyone could learn a bit from that strong woman. He smiled gently at his little cousin when she promised to always remember how special she was and to never underestimate herself again. One day, people would see that woman amaze the world.
It sounds like your little girl’s got all the attention from your family. He commented amusingly about Bella’s daughter. He remembered mistaking her for an immortal child when he first saw the little girl. Never had he thought hybrids truly existed; since not many humans survive through a romantic relationship with vampires. Commonly, they would end up being drained by their own lovers and the end of the story. Bella’s story lasted eternally, which was very amazing. Eleazar absolutely agreed with Bella when it came to her father, although he never really met the man. He indeed had been a respectable man with a good heart just like his daughter’s. Forks had been very lucky to have such a good chief. He took it pretty well, I can see. At least he did not freak out. I guess, with an instinct of a father, he knew what was best for you, Bella, no matter how strange the path you chose to walk was. He smiled. A laugh escaped his lips when Bella commented that only he would bring video games in the scenario when talking about his biological family. She was right: he had a true family now; why would he have to remember his past; why didn’t he live for the present? He remained quiet after Bella’s saying so as to let the subject slide away in peace.
When it came to Bella’s coming to Volterra, Eleazar was quite worried and curious. Bella had come to Volterra and that meant she must have met the Volturi. The Volturi, of course, could not so careless and had not founf out that Bella Cullen was in town. According to what he remembered about the confrontation with the Volturi, Aro had shown his desire to have her join his coven, along with Edward, Alice and the wolf pack. It made him wonder why Aro had let her go so easily when she was there, in Volterra. Had Aro been planning something? Hopefully, whatever was in the old vampire’s head, it would not have anything to do with the Cullens. Before Eleazar could point out how dangerous for his little cousin to be in Volterra, she had mentioned it. It put his mind at ease to see that Bella was well aware of the danger waiting for her in Volterra. Nevertheless, he could not stop worrying. Aro. You must have met him. I’m sure Aro would know right away if you showed up in his town. He paused, trying to think of a proper way to describe his thinking. I’m glad you know how dangerous it was. I have no right to tell you what to do. I just hope that nothing unfortunate happened to you while you were there.

As strange as it was, she loved her family, no matter how much they teased one another. It was not an awkward feeling at all. Talking to Eleazar was something she had truly liked. It was refreshing of course. She was only eighteen with sixty eight years of life behind her. She was extremely protective and worried about everyone, no matter how much older they were, or younger than that. Everything was the way it was supposed to be. She knew it wasn’t his fault that he liked to be protective of course. As he liked to see their family safe and sound after everything they had been through, and had wanted nothing but the best for them. Everyone was that way. A smile was easy to find on her face while speaking to her older cousin. “Well Kate is unique I’ll give her that, but she is quite helpful in the most brilliant of ways.” She told him about Kate. Kate had been very beautiful in helping her to learn how to shield herself, and others around her. If it weren’t for her, she never would have learned how to do it. She had been in fact curious of the treasure hunt in which he spoke of.
“Meteor rain eh? That would have been absolutely stunning to behold. I’m glad that you have Kate and Garrett to keep your skills sharp. As both of them are unique, and it doesn’t surprise me on how romantic Garrett can be. People will do anything for those they love, even if it means doing something they will least expect.” The playful grin Eleazar showed her was enough to make her chuckle lightly. “Garrett is a good man, I’ll give him that but so are you.” She told her cousin honestly as she looked into his eyes.
The idea of bringing the entire family to do something like this was truly a marvelous idea, and she knew it would be quite fun, for all of them. Whether everyone would participate, she had no idea, but she could hope so. Of course being young had it’s ups and downs. Yes they were free to spend eternity with those they loved, but at a consequence. Not that it mattered as she would do it all over again, if she had the chance to. “Oh I know he would. Of course you know as well as I do that whatever punishment he comes up with better be a good one. Though anyone who is on Edward’s team might have the upper hand since as you know as well as I do that he is able to read minds.” She grinned as she looked at Eleazar. It would be fun to have the entire two covens together for some fun. “Yes, it has been a very long time since our two families have been able to come together to have some kind of fun, aside from our confrontation with the Volturi fifty years ago.” It wasn’t about winning or losing but it was about having fun, which she knew that Eleazar knew that better than anyone. “I had been in one when I was a kid, but nothing like that. I’d love to try it now.” She smiled as she looked at her cousin. Their two backgrounds were different, as were their upbringings but that was not the point. Life could be difficult no matter which era one came from. It had been proven. She had seen alot in her sixty eight years of life, granted it wasn’t like seeing the same things that her husband or anyone else in their two covens had seen but it was more than enough. Life had to be treasured, it was as simple as that. Immortality to her, gave her two things, one the chance to be with her family forever, and two, it gave her a chance to truly learn things. Sometimes they were repetitive but for the most part things were changing all the time and new information was out there, ready to be soaked up. If vampires like herself did not learn anything new, they would be trapped in the time they were changed in, and would truly fall behind. Of course with their social life they would have to keep trying to move forward, to never fall behind. No one could hide in a mountain, or in a cave forever, they had to come out of hiding sometime, they had to brave the big bad world on their own sometimes.
Sixty eight years was not a lot of time, but it was enough. It had given her a reason, to want to know more. To not lose herself in what she had become. Everything about her human life had remained with her, only difference was she was no longer human. She could easily learn things from many different options. The first was from those who had lived before her, the second from novels that waere based on fact, and three the internet. Which was a gateway to information, it was how she had learned what Edward had truly been, and what she now had become. Learning had become easier with the internet, and the vast array of information that was on there. She did not need to learn how to treat people of course as she had been human enough to know the basics, of respect, and trust. And to not let her anger get the best of her, and to hurt others. No one was perfect, and she was no exception to that rule.
Every day she was gaining more and more information, soaking it all in. As charming as this converastion was, she knew that he was right. She had to be proud of who she was, and what she stood for. “Yes, she does. She probably thinks too much, but we’re not the only ones that look out for her, Eleazar. I can’t protect her when she goes to La Push, so I have to depend on my oldest friend, Jacob Black, he’s a shifter, and he imprinted on my daughter. I rely on him when I can’t be there for her. He would never let anything happen to my little girl. As strange as it was...to find out he imprinted on her.” She knew that many vampires did not end up staying wth a human for long let alone the human survive the time period like she had. She had been very lucky in that regard. Edward hadn’t hurt her, not in the physical sense anyway. Emotionally they had both put eachother through hell. But it was something they had put themselves through and had made it work irregardless. It was a happy ending. “Well he had to trust me. As hard as that was. Especially when he learned what Jacob was. I don’t know that he knew his daughter was a vampire, but I think he knew that I wasn’t who I used to be. He knew though that I would never abandon my husband, no matter the strange path it caused me to walk upon.” She replied to him as she knew what things could be like. There were worse things she could have become.
Of course when the subject had turned to her visit to Volterra had naturally caused a worry to appear on her cousin’s face. She could see it, he was as curious as anyone would be. The Volturi were not careless. She knew this better than most did. Aro had made a point to explain how he had wanted her, Edwad and Alice, more than anything else, and had wanted the wolf pack eliminated. She could see it. If Aro was planning something she wasn’t aware of it and neither was Alice for the time being. Hopefully if he was planning something it would have nothing to do with either the family in which she belonged to, or their cousins.
“I know who Aro is, and how dangerous he can be. Just like his little pets, Jane and Alec. He probably knew I was in town but he didn’t make a point of bringing me to him every time I went into the country either. Only once in the last two trips I made did I end up inside the castle. Nothing unfortunate happened while I was there. I was on my best behavior, and I got out before things got nasty. But it was ten years ago, Eleazar. I haven’t been back since, due to the fact that it was not safe to do so. Aro, with this ball coming up, you know as well as I do that he is planning something. But the question is what. You know him just as well as I do. I know that this ball is most likely a ruse to try and recruit people into the Volturi and kill those who refuse. I don’t know if I’m right, but that is what my instincts are telling me. And I have always trusted my instincts cousin. I’ve never not trusted them and they’ve always led me in the direction I was meant to go down.” She answered him simply, knowing that what she said could lead to more questions than answers. But it was the honest truth. Something Eleazar had to know. “You’re the only one that knows I’ve even been to Italy. I haven’t even told my husband. During those trips when I was gone, I told him I was headed to go visit some old friends. I didn’t specify where. Because I knew if I did, either Alice would forsee what was to come or Edward would try and read my mind, if I allowed him to.”
