Personality :: Honest: As a child her parents had taught her to always be honest. No matter the situation and it was something that was drilled into her. Even when she was faced with the unknown. She liked it. She is careful about how honest she is, but makes sure to point out where she has to about what needs to be done, without overstepping her boundaries.
Loving: Before Garrett, the only kind of love she had truly had was the love for her sisters. Sure she had one night stands, but nothing was as solid or as concrete as what she feels for Garrett. He is her reason for existing, the reason she does what she does. Ever since they met there's been one obstacle after another but she would do anything for the man as she loves him that much.
Protective: When it comes to her family, even her extended family, she will do what is necessary to protect them. Especially from the Volturi though she knows the rules and whether or not to intervene on something.
Genuine: She is very genuine with her emotions as she will tell you how she's feeling and is very concerned about others. Especially a member of her family.
Funny: She has a quirky sense of humor, especially when it comes to her gift. She enjoys it, and enjoys being around light hearted individuals. Someone that is accepting of others the way that she is.
Determined: She will do whatever it takes, no matter how long it takes to do a task, no matter the consequence. This is proven when she was willing to help Bella with her learning how to shield herself.
Loyal: Now when she was younger, she had adapted to her new family quickly, and loved them for it. Aside from the Cullens, her own family and Garrett there is no one in whom she is more loyal to. She trusts them and they trust her.
Passionate: When Garrett came into her life he had awoken up something she had thought had died a long time ago. A reason for living. He made her happy and the thought of losing him was almost paralyzing when they were faced with the prospect of a battle in which could end multiple lives.

History ::[/i] Kate Rose Holden was born to a loving family, her parents were very happy go lucky kind of people. She was an only child. Though she never felt alone as her parents were always there for her when she needed them. Her parents were very sociable so there were always kids to play with. By the time she was old enough to really understand the basics of her world, things began to change. Her parents were fighting more. Which was fine as she was used to it. She'd seen them argue before. But one night her mother walked out and never came back. She was eight years old at the time.
It was sad really not to have her mother in her life. As her mother was not the type to come back, after walking out. It was hard on her father too as he hadn't wanted her mother to leave. He'd begged her otherwise but her mother was highly difficult to deal with, once her mind was made up. Throughout the years her father did the best he could to raise his daughter in a loving environment. It was all he could do.
At fifteen her life turned upside down when her father suddenly died. It was quite a shock of course. She did not see it coming. The bank came and repossessed her home. She had nowhere to stay, and the only things she had that the bank hadn't taken was a picture of her parents, and the clothes she had on her back.
She did not know what to do. What could she do? She felt weak without the one parent who had always been there for her. It was then that her mother happened to find her. And partially out of guilt she had come back and tried to bond with her. It was funny how that turned out as her own temper had gotten the better of her. She was not one of those teenagers that were happy to see their mother. No, she would rather send her mother packing. Only five months later did her mother succumb to death's embrace.
At sixteen years old she fell for a man named Jacob Masters. A young man who had the world in the palm of his hands. Because of this, she was willing to test out the feelings she was developing. He was brilliant and he made her laugh. It was like she had a family all over again. It was a wonderful feeling, to just sit there and have a conversation with him. They dated off and on for three years, and shortly before her twentieth birthday he ended the relationship and was later found dead in his motel room.
Six months later, she had been an attendant for a slavic warior, who rode on a caravan, and so it was natural for her to protect the woman. She had her martial arts to help her in difficult situations, of course things did not end well for her. She had only been attending to this woman for several years and so it saddened her when she realized this was it. That she couldn't save her. A vampire by the name of Sasha attacked, along with her daughter Tanya. She was knocked unconsious and when she came to, the pain was excruciating. It was as though every bad feeling in the world had been slammed into her chest, as though every fiber of her being was completely ripped apart. When she awoke three days later, she was completely unsure of what was going on.
It was discovered that what she was, was a vampire. A vampire who fed on humans, at least in theory. Though when she met Sasha Denali, after waking up from the change, the woman who became her second mother, she was brought into the fold quickly. There was another girl already there by the name of Tanya, and her loyalty to the two soon developd rapidly. It took a decade for her power to become what she knows it to be. A psychic electronic shock. Soon after they were joined by a girl named Irina. Sasha had invited Irina to join their family. These two girls and herself were soon known to be the Denali sisters.
The bond between the three sisters and Sasha had grown to the point where she was their mother. Little did they know that their mother had a secret. That she had created an immortal child known as Vasilii. Because they knew nothing, they had to stand and watch as the Volturi leaders hand out the punishment for it. It meant instant death. She and her sisters had to watch as their mother holding young Vasilii burn to death. Because of this, she and her sisters became wary of those children who appeared immortal. It was an absolutely scary time for her, and it had scarred her and her sisters completely. The one thing she believes saved hers and her sisters' lives was because they did not question the Volturi or their motives that day.
Over the years she and her two sisters sought company in the male species both human and vampire, to satisfy the pain that was left in the place of where their mother's love once was. The human relationships never lasted long as they often were killed not long after consumating the relationships. Originally they drank from humans, but after a while Tanya discovered they could drink animal blood and it would give them the same nutrients that a human's would but it was less dangerous. The family agreed to try it. It worked, so well that they decided to move their little family to Denali, and it was here where they continued to feed off of animals. It was safer for all of them.
Years later two vampires would join the coven. That of Eleazar and his mate Carmen. Now she was not as close with either of them as she was sure the others were but that did not mean that she was uncapable of caring for them. Needless to say when the family was called upon by the Cullen family who had been their surrogate cousins, the family was torn by it.
Irina wanted nothing to do with it, as the Cullens had a treaty with the very wolves who had killed Laraunt who had been Irina's mate. To make up for it of course they later attended Bella and Edward's wedding. It was a lovely ceremony. But when Edward arrived with Bella and their daughter, Renesmee, all hell seemed to strike as it appeared the girl was an immortal child. Only Carmen seemed to see through it. Though it took some convincing she felt better once knowing the child was not. They agreed to help and went to the Cullens' home. It was here where she helped Bella learn how to control her shield, to project it out to help everyone involved. "You need to visualize it. See how it moves, the color it is. Picture it expanding, will it to go beyond you." Of course she realized that Bella needed something to motivate her. Though it meant she used her shock on Edward, though it took a few tris before she was able to shield Edward completely from her power. Granted she even dared to threaten Renesmee, of course she wasn't serious but it was the only thing that could motivate Bella since Edward wasn't doing it. While helping the Cullens, she met a particular nomad, named Garrett, whom she felt herself attracted to.The man was brilliant by all means. Though they discussed multiple topics of conversation including hers and her family's taste for blood. Once the battle was over, he would become her mate. "If we live through this, I'll follow you anywhere, woman." Garrett had told her in which she replied..."Now he tells me."
Irina, her loving sister, had thought Renesmee was an immortal child and had gone to the Volturi, because of this, Irina was killed. Irina should not have died the way that she did, because of one mistake but it could not be undone. She and Tanya wanted to kill the Volturi themselves, though that was not to be. Irina's death had completely devastated her and Tanya both. She and Tanya wanted to kill the ones responsible but it took Carlisle, Garrett, Edward, Bella and Zafrina to stop the two sisters. Garrett literally had to hold her to him to stop her from taking out her revenge while the others tried to talk Tanya out of it. Irina was the only one to die, but the two covens were still shaken by the tragedy.
Once they returned to Denali, she had to face the facts that she had a mate now and so she had to practice being a one man kind of woman instead of how she had always been, and Garrett had to learn to adjust his diet to fit their coven. It was a lengthy process but they helped eachother out. It has now been fifty years and she remains by Garrett and their covens' side.

A smile crossed her lips as she found herself sitting at the table in their family home. IT had not changed in the last century, though she didn’t expect that it would. She had been quite able to understand what was being thrown at her. The young woman was old enough now to make her choices, even if they had not ended well. Garrett was out on a hunting trip and normally she would have joined him, but she had remained behind, mostly because she was quite satisfied. There was nevr a right time to put into words how she felt about him. He knew that she had loved him. Albeit there was so much more to the situation than that.
Tanya was a brilliant older sister, and she had led their coven in quite a great way. The family had grown strongr, and closer, though Tanya was the only true sister she had left after Irina’s death. And not a day went by that she did not think of her sister, of their mother and their brother. She could recall the deaths as though they had just happened. She ran a hand through her hair as she looked around. It was quiet...too quiet. Alot had been on her mind recently. Living forever was fine, really it was, as she was able to spend it with the people sh e truly loved. She didn’t want to let that feeling go, instead of letting it burn in the wind.
A chuckle escaped her lips as she heard someone entire the quiet house. And by the smell of it , it was none other than her brother Eleazar. The two weren’t as close as she would like but that was because there were certain differences between the two of them. Taking an unneeded breath, she stood her ground, and walked to where she thought she had smelled her brother at. “Hello Eleazar. I thought I sensed you. What are you doing?” She asked her brother as she knew without a shadow of a doubt that he was truly up to something but the question was what. Though nine times out of ten it was nothing dangerous. “Where is everyone? Still out hunting?” She asked Eleazar, staying calm for the moment as it was not a good idea to make her upset as that was generally when her gift grew out of hand. Still she watched her brother briefly as she walked closer towards him. She did this because she knew he wouldn’t hurt her. And the fact of the matter was she could hear better when she was in closer proximity to him. Not that it mattered as she could have heard him from anywhere in the house really. The house wasn’t that big after all. Eleazar seemed to be lost in thought so it only made her wonder if he even heard her at all. But she had hated to repeat herself.
