3100 years had been a long time for the vampire to have seen everything she had seen. Many kingdoms had risen and fallen, many had gotten themselves into power only to be killed later on. She had seen people get killed for having been believed they were witches, or some other supernatural creature. Many did not deserve the punishments for it. Some, however did. It was not any of her business to run interference especially in Ireland.
When she had first become a vampire, she had no idea what her life was going to become. She had gone from what she had already knew a beautiful young woman, to an even more beautiful woman. Being a vampire had added it’s exceptional beauty to her own exceptional beauty, from what she was told. The truth was, she was not a vain woman. As she had accepted the compliments she would get gracefully but did not depend on them, nor did she brag about it, in front of others. As it was not lady like to do so.
Moving to Italy in the 1900’s was a leap of faith. She’d never known anything else. Though she was not scared when she had first come. She had been used to being alone ever since her sisters and her brothers in law were brutally slain. Though of course, she’d heard rumors of the Volturi long before arriving in Italy but it was only after she had arrived that she had found herself in the presence of a few of them. Renata Volturi being one of them.
It had taken quite a few years to prove her loyalty. She had done anything they had asked when they had asked, but for the most part had learned to stay out of the way. Once of course the loyalty was proven she had no problems getting close to them. To Aro and Renata in particular. Those two were the ones she felt the closest to, and she really liked being in their company.
Smiling as she took an unneeded breath. She knew the rumors, the legends of the Volturi’s castle. Many claimed it was haunted, but of course it was the only way to keep the weak and pitiful humans at bay. She had kept her life a simple one. It was a kill or be killed kind of life. She had killed in the middle of the night, disposing of her victims before anyone really knew they were missing. Plus she knew to kill the ones who in the end would not have anyone looking for them any time soon.
Entering the castle, she wondered where everyone was. She could hear the shuffles of other vampires within the corridors but hadn’t seen anyone yet. After a few minutes she could tell where Renata was. It was her whom she was looking for after all. The two were rather friendly, and had been for many centuries. A smile appeared on her face as she saw the woman. “Hello, Ma’am. How are you today?” She always spoke to Renata this way, as even though she was an older vampire, she respected each of the Volturi and most often used the term as Ma’am or Sir, or in the Masters case, calling them each Master. Without respect there was nothing left. Nothing that truly mattered anyway.
Age was nothing but a number in her oppinion as Renata was above her when it came to the ranks. She wasn’t even a guard but she had proven her loyalty to the Volturi’s and had often done what they had asked of her. But that would always be the case. She’d never turn her back on them. Still there were times where she thought about her past. These last few weeks had been quite interesting. First running into Eleazar Denali, oh how he had been so annoying. And the second was running into Alexander. That was something else entirely. She never spoke of her meeting with Alexander but she had mentioned to Aro her little run in with Eleazar of course. The difference in the matter was that Eleazar was one of the Denali’s and a Vegetarian, who had opposed the Volturi in the past. Though she had reassured Aro that Eleazar had stated he was no threat to the coven which Aro had agreed with, but had thanked her for letting him know of his arrival. She waited to see what Renata would say, as she was glad to see her old friend. She hadn’t seen her in quite some time due to both of them being busy with obvious tasks.
