Personality :: She has always been a compassionate type of woman. One who enjoys helping others, instead of putting them down. Although she does not have an ability like some of her coven members and that of their cousins the Cullen coven, she is perfectly capable of fighting for what was right. Meeting Eleazar had opened her eyes to things she never thought was possible. She had lived and loved with him while he had worked for the Volturi. Leaving them was the best thing they could have done for their relationship though as it had only improved more. She is known to be genuine, with a kind heart, and willing to truly trust someone whole heartedly. When it comes to how people look at her, she is kind of like the girl next door in not only how she looks though but by her traits. She is honest, as she will tell her family members what she is feeling and isn’t willing to put them in harm’s way. She has a strength within her to have overcome everything she has seen in her long life as a vampire. She is a very determined individual. Determined in everything she has ever done. And she is also very stubborn as once she has her mind made up there is no changing it, no matter the consequences.
She is very loyal as she has proven this time and time again by sticking by her husband’s side, even when there have been times where she gets angry at him. She is soft spoken as rarely ever does she raise her voice. She has a positive attitude, and likes to think that everything will work itself out. She is passionate when it comes to helping others and being around her family, especiallly Eleazar. She has a faith in her family that has never decreased even with all of the things she has seen.
When Irina had lost her life, she had reached out to Tanya and Kate to let them know they weren’t alone. It was just how she was raised. She tries to be a good sister and a wife as much as she can. She has always wanted children though she never had any before being changed. It’s one thing she wished she could have had but she’s grateful for what she has. She is very patient especially about things that she knows take time. She is always trying to be stronger than before. She is also very educated as she, like her husband can speak both fluent English and Spanish. Being immortal of course she is always looking for something new to read. She is also down to earth. Though she is vegetarian so she does consume blood, but only that of animals, as it’s less risky than drinking from humans.

History ::[/i] Carmen Elena de la Vega was born to two of the most wonderful spanish couple, Roberto and Elena in the seventeenth century of Spain’s existance. Roberto and Elena met six years before her birth during a Spanish festival. Roberto was the one who gave her the first name of Carmen where her mother gave her the middle name of Elena, so that she had a name which had been a family traditon on her mother’s side. Roberto and Elena were overjoyed when they brought her home. She was the only daughter of the couple. The reason why is because Elena and Roberto had only been married a year when Carmen was born.
Her mother was a stay at home mother, always willing to help her with whatever she wanted. Her father was a workaholic, always gone on some sort of business trip or another. She and her father were not that close, though she loved her father very much. Roberto was rarely ever home, so Elena was often the one to teach her.
At five years old she was an inquisitve little girl. Her mother began to teach her spanish so that she could communicate with others more fluently, in her spanish community. She was doted upon by her mother. When her father was home, her mother would spend all the time with her father, often leaving her alone. Without there being anyone to play with she often was left to her own imagination.
At eight years old her mother developed the Spanish Influenza. A disease which later consumed her life, taking her into death’s embrace. From then on her father Roberto was the only one who would look after her. After Elena’s death, her father sunk into a depression....he had never had the responsibility of looking after someone else on his own. Being a single father wasn’t in the cards for him or so he liked to think. Soon after he married a woman Caroline, who was the opposite of Elena. Where Elena had been sweet and loving, Caroline was strict and difficult.
At age 10, she was introduced to the language known as English, and at first she could not speak but a word or two. But even with her trying to speak English her Spanish accent was still strong. Spanish was an easier language to learn, since both of her parents had spoken that for most of her life. But Caroline brought in the English and so therefore Roberto was learning English too. It wasn’t fun for her. It was something Caroline criticqued her about.
At age 11, she got into a major fight with Caroline, and her father took Caroline’s side. From that point forward she was left out in the cold by her father. He did not laugh, he did not joke around with her, it was serious all of the time. It was a rather unhappy time for her. She made friends though and often stayed with them where she could. Her friends’ families were more welcoming so she spent alot of time away from the house when she could. Her father hadn’t minded as between Caroline and his job, well there was very little time for her.
At age thirteen she met a guy by the name of Antonio Rodriguez, Anton for short, and he was a popular spanish gentleman. The two got close, and soon they were best friends. Her father and his father were not quite friendly with eachother. They had a war. A feud broke out between the two families and their allies. A lot of innocent people lost their lives. Her father survived as did Antonio. But many others did not.
At age fifteen she had been hanging out with her friends, when there had been a physical arguement. The police were called. She and Antonio were the only ones to get out without there being taken into the jail. Her father was ultimately displeased and her stepmother, well she got into a lot of trouble. Unlike her father whom only told her that she should not be doing this, Caroline was even worse. It was the first time she had ever had someone lay a hand on her. It was something that would not happen twice. She warned her father that if he did not keep control over his wife, that there would be certain things that would happen, in which her father would not be happy.
At sixteen years old she was celebrating coming into what was known as being a woman, as her father said. Caroline of course was cruel and did not let her have any kind of party, though her father for once in his life interferred, and she was eligable to have one anyway. It was then where they were able to celebrate her birth with all of her friends. It was a fabulous party, though Antonio even went up to her father and asked to court his daughter, which Roberto agreed. Caroline of course declined the idea, but Roberto had the final say. For the next few years everything was perfectly fine. She and Antonio were closer than ever, and things were looking up in her life. At the age of eighteen she and Antonio were given their own place to live, each had their own small home close to eachother, due to Antonio’s job keeping him busy and Roberto helping out where he could. It was a wonderful time and they spoke about marriage. Of course because it was important to get her father’s blessing...he waited a little bit before asking for her hand in marriage. It had taken him two years to build up the courage to talk to her father about it, though their relationship was still very strong. In the midst of planning for their wedding, which had taken them a few years, she was twenty one, when they celebrated their committment for eachother. It was the night before her wedding.
She had been quite scared really. Most brides were, her future mother in law told her. He was her first true love and she wanted it to go smoothly. What bride wouldn’t want their special day to be perfect? That night was her bachelorette party. She and her friends went to a party to celebrate her engagement and her upcoming marriage. It was a last minute sort of thing. Walking alone that night, after her friends were at their own homes....she was told not to go through with the wedding by an old friend of the family’s.
That next morning should have been a glorious one at that. But it wasn’t. It all wasn’t a good thing at all. A letter arrived that morning, Antonio called off the wedding. He’d been threatened, and he didn’t want to go through with the wedding after all. It was a disheartening time, for her. She had truly been in love with Antonio so it hurt when he didn’t want to go through with the wedding. She begged her father to help her move, to get away from the home which was too close to comfort from her ex-fiancee’s. She was moved half way across the town, farther than she thought she would be. Still she was able to live her life again, in peace.
Though peace did not last for long, it never usually did. But without a shadow of a doubt, even in Madrid things were a bit hectic. She loved the city’s culture and the arts that were involved with it. It was a beautiful area to be in. Many wars were fought over the lands, between freedom and religon. None of which ever came at a good cost as many lost their lives because of it. During one of these wars came a plague which of course cost many their lives as well. She was an adult now. She cannot remember the change when it occurred or how. All she remembers is waking up one day and suddenly craving blood. It took a great while to gather the strength to stand let alone be around people. She left her home not too long after that. It was not safe to stay near the area in which her father resided.
Not long after that, She travelled and soon she met Eleazar who was working for the Volturi, the leaders of the Vampiric community. Instantly seeing him, she was attracted to Eleazar. The two soon fell in love, despite the fact that Eleazar was with the Volturi, something she had no interest in. Once the two left the Volturi they had been together ever since. They were eachother’s mates.
Within a few years they soon found Tanya, Kate, and Irina Denali, as well as some of their mates. It was a happy time for the two of them though, as they both now had a family. Sure she didn’t feel as close with them as Eleazar had but that was acceptable. She loved them nevertheless. Family was an important thing to all of them, and soon she and Eleazar both were changing their diets to a “vegetarian” state. Meaning their diet consisted of animal blood instead of on actual humans. Which was a refreshing change to their outlook on life. Their shared passion and compassion for people was what led them down the path....to being a “vegetarian.”
She never looked back when it came to Eleazar or their coven. The path the two were led on, it was a comfortable path at least. Over the next few centuries she remained by Eleazar’s side, where he went, she would follow, and vice versa. When it came to the Cullen family, they became close, almost like “Cousins” with the other coven. Soon, the family had settled up in Canada where they have remained ever since. When the Cullen family called to request their assistance against Victoria, the family had to deny it, couldn’t do it. Part of the reason why she and Eleazar, and their family did nothing, was because they were trying to keep the peace between their own coven. Her adopted sister, Irina’s mate, Laurant, had been slaughtered by the wolves with whom the Cullen family had had a treaty with. Needless to say she felt bad about not helping them, but she followed the Denali family first and foremost.
To make up for the fact they couldn’t help with the vampire Victoria, and the battle with the newborn army, they did attend the wedding of Bella Swan to Edward Cullen, the family with the exceptioni of Irina, joined the Cullens to celebrate the wedding. It was a beautiful ceremony. She was happy for the couple.
When her sister Irina went to the Volturi believing that Bella and Edward’s daughter, Renesmee, was an immortal child, a human child who was turned immortal, something that the Volturi did not agree with, and it was a crime punishable by death, the family didn’t know what to think. They tried to keep their own coven together, and safe.
When Edward, Bella and their daughter Renesmee, came up to the house, where she and their family stayed, they asked for help. She was the first to accept that Renesmee was not an immortal child. "May I hold you, bebé linda?" Had been what she had first asked Renesmee. Though it took some convincing to get Eleazar on the same page as she was. "Impossible as it seems, Edward has told you nothing but truth. Let the child show you." She had told Eleazar to make him understand that the child was not like what Irina had said she was. Then she had to prove it to their coven members as well. The entire family, save for Irina, believed it too. They along with other allies that the Cullens had, were willing to fight to help protect the little girl. However, although the crisis was averted and a war was not brought about, they had to stand and watch in horror as Irina was killed by the Volturi’s. Which is something that still haunts them. Her adopted sister Kate, finally got her mate, in a vampire by the name of Garrett. It has been fifty years, although......they say time heals all wounds but, does it really? The family members are still cautious. They follow the rules as much now as they always have. She remains close by Eleazar, as she has been since she met him.

There was not a day that went by that she was not grateful for the life in which she was given. She had a wonderful husband, someone that she could not imagine spending eternity without. And she had two sisters whom she would give her life for. She also had a brother who was quite unique and he gave her husband to share a passion with so she would not be bugged about it. She did not mind teasing her husband and brother about their video games. It was childish really though it did give the two something to bond over which was not a bad thing really. Taking a deep unneeded breath she had found herself outside of the house. It was quite isolated and the weather was absolutely breathtaking.
Alaska had been a great home for her and her family, they were able to live their lives like most families did. They could laugh, talk, and just enjoy eachother’s company, like human families did. It was one of the reasons why she enjoyed being with this family so much. They could make her smile and laugh, even on days when she felt angry. Which did not always happen at oppertune moments.
Alaska had a brilliant scenery similar to that of Forks, Washington where her family’s beloved cousins resided. It was true fifty years ago they had grown closer all because of Isabella and Edward, as well as their daughter Renesmee, who was later nicknamed Nessie. She was glad that it happened though because not only did it bring their two covens together but it helped shape their lives in a better way especially after Irina’s death. While she may not have been extremely close with Irina, she had loved her sister irregardless despite how close they may or may not have been.
That particular day she had not been outside of the house but a few minutes when she had taken a whiff of the area around her. It was clean....fresh, like she had remembered it being when she was a simple human. But she hadn’t been human for a very long time. When it came to Eleazar, her world revolved around him far more than words could ever describe. It was as though he often knew what she was thinking before she even had to say anything at all. It was a good but refreshing feeling at the time. Taking an unneeded breath she looked around the house. There were cars out front, meaning someone was home, but she hadn’t heard them walking around the house so it made her slighly curious. Someone was here but who? Where was Eleazar when she needed him?
After what felt like a very long time she took a walk around their home. She could not smell anything familiar like if her family members were around. There was none. It made her wonder if they had all gone hunting and had left her purposely behind. She knew they would never do that....especially not Eleazar. She had finally given up. Time to head back inside the house. Once inside she headed to hers and Eleazar’s room. She had never once doubted that he was the one for her. He was charming, and sweet and loving towards her. Unlike so many she knew before meeting him.
Entering her bedroom, she shut the door behind her. Like always, whenever she was in the room...she walked toward the closet. There was enough clothes here so she wouldn’t have to wear the same thing twice. A chuckle escaped her soft lips. Her eyes glanced around the room as she thought about rearranging furniture. It had not been done in a while and maybe now was the time to do it? Suddenly she heard the door open. Hands soon covered her eyes and she took in the scents around her. She knew without a shadow of a doubt who was behind her but always played along with his games. "Who is it?" She asked though she knew it was her soulmate behind her. Being a vampire she had a bit of an advantage in that she could smell him before she even saw him. But that was quite fine, as nothing would ever stop her from loving him and only him. He was her husband, her mate, and the best friend someone like her could ever ask for.
