It had been but a lifetime since she had last been in Forks and although they had only been back but a short while she had not seen much of the pack members. She worried about them of course. She always had, that was something that she couldn’t change despite the fact she was a vampire. There were a few who hadn’t cared whether she was a vampire or not as they had been friendly towards her irregardless. Taking a breath, that she didn’t really need, she gazed around the house. So much had been done since they had first arrived back in town. What she did not know was that things were going to be more chaotic now that they were back in town then they had been when she had left.
She had gotten a text message from Jacob asking if they had made it back in town yet. Replying with a ‘yes’ she had been anticipating his arrival first and foremost. Jacob was the one whom she had known the longest out of the pack and therefore hadn’t cared what he was. Shifter or not, he was still her best friend. She was reminded of everything that had led her to this moment. Of what she had given up in order to be here. She had saved her daughter, no matter if it had almost cost her, her own life. She would willingly do it all over again. She had been in the kitchen working on a latest recipe that she had gotten out of the book that her mother had left under the counter. Yes, she had begun to call her inlaws by mom and dad as it was the only sensible things to do, since they were her parents now, had been even before her birth parents had died. Not a day went by that she did not miss them but she had moved on to be a stronger woman for it. For their love and for their compassion. Cooking was something that she had done after dealing with all the losses as it gave her a sense of pride even if she could not eat it herself.
She heard a knock at the door. She took a look around as she wondered who it could be, then she caught the scent of a shifter. It must be either Jacob or Seth. They were the only two that really came around much when they had lived here fifty years ago. Leah had not wanted to be anywhere near her as the two did not get along much but that was because of Leah’s loyalty to Jacob and the fact she had been the one to break Jacob’s heart. Still she wondered how they all had been doing since she and her family had left rather suddenly fifty years ago. Turning off the burner, she walked over to the front door and she smiled. “Seth. Seth Clearwater? Is that you? You haven’t aged a day!” She grinned since he still looked like the small kid she knew when she truly was eighteen, over fifty years ago. Part of her wanted to give the kid a hug but he also had that scent of a wet dog, like all shifters held and truth be told she wasn’t quite sure how he would react to it. So instead she moved to the side to allow Seth to enter the house. No one else was home for the time being so now was as good a time as any for him to come in and visit. She wondered what the reason for his visit was, since he hadn’t called beforehand to let them know he was on the way. But that was just like Seth too, as that kid was always spontaneous from what she could in fact remember. Which wasn’t necessarily a bad thing, just different.

SOMETIMES I FIND IT HARD• to believe there's someone else who could be •JUST AS MESSED UP AS MEhe'd been to the cullens' twice since they'd come back in town, both times quite unannounced, both times intruding on some visitor they'd already had. today wasn't much different. again, little seth was making his way to his favorite coven's house without letting anyone know ahead of time. they couldn't get too mad at him. he was part of the extended family, after all. supernaturals gotta stick together and all that.
lately, he’d been spending more time with one of the cullens specifically: renesmee, the little half-vampire that bella had carried and given birth to before changing into the immortal creature she was. they’d been great friends before the cullens had moved away, seth becoming almost like a brother to the quickly growing child, but when they’d returned, the two had found that their fake sibling relationship was no longer there and that something quite different had developed. seth hadn’t meant to fall for nessie. she was jacob’s imprint, so technically she was off-limits, but neither seth or renesmee had cared about that much.
they didn’t care about pack rules, but they did care about what nessie’s family would say. or do. the cullens hadn’t been too happy to find out jake imprinted on ness, so what would they do when they found out yet another pack member was putting a claim on her?
he pushed the thought back into his head as he stripped down and stuffed his clothes into a bag tied to his ankle. shifting with clothes on ripped them to shreds, and there really was no reason for him to be completely naked when he got to the cullens’ house, nor did he want to be. his and nessie’s relationship was not that kind of relationship. without a shivering thought, seth’s body changed, his own human body seeming to tear as it gave way to his wolf’s shape. the miles between his house and the cullens’ would pass so much faster in his giant lupine form. he was nearly as fast as jake and leah, despite his smaller size.
the sandy wolf ran, careful to stick to the lesser traveled areas of the already normally desolate woods. fifty years before, when the packs had been growing quickly, plenty of mortals had spotted the new wolves. and hunters had wanted them as a prize. that sort of thing didn’t need to happen again, and so the shifters stayed far out of human sight.
the short run wasn’t much of a workout for seth; the round’s jake had him running on the perimeter were far longer. he was hardly panting when he reached the large house, barely broke a sweat when he shifted back. seth pulled on his pants as he walked, leaving his shirt tucked in the bag, which was now thrown over one shoulder. the run hadn’t taken that much out of him, but he was still hot --was always hot-- and, like much of the rest of the pack, preferred to wear as little as possible.
the boy waited somewhat impatiently for someone to answer his soft knock. the vamps could move faster than the wolves could, could hear just as well. apparently he was slightly impatient, wanting to see nessie’s bright smile. he hadn’t for a while, thanks to jacob’s stupid rounds --obviously someone was jealous. but soon the door opened.
his smile fell slightly when he was it was bella, not her daughter, but seth quickly brought his grin back. ’hey, bells. it’s sure is me!’ he laughed, dark eyes crinkling with joy. ’and really, speak for yourself! i’ve gotten taller some, i think. you, though. you’re just the same as before!’ he stepped inside, his face crinkling again at the too-sweet stench that ruled the house. vampires stank just as bad to the wolves as they apparently did to the vamps. but at least the wolve’s scents didn’t float through the entire house. pushing the thought back and trying to turn off his nose (as if that could ever happen), seth turned, walking backwards further into the house, and looked at bella curiously.
’is, uh, nessie home?’ he blushed slightly, his dark cheeks tinging red. the cullens, though they may have had their suspicions, had not been told about his and nessie’s relationship. no one really had, since they didn’t exactly have a relationship. they did, but they didn’t. typical complicated teenager stuff.

Never in a million years did she expect that she and her family would arrive back in Forks. Back at their old home. It was the home where her daughter was born. So she had a connection to it. Still she knew that with her family’s arrival that new shifters would be phasing, as they always did anytime a large amount of vampires were in one area at any one given time. Still she had no idea that soon she would be greeted by one of the shifters themselves, Seth Clearwater. He was this tiny little kid the last time she had seen him. The wolves and her family had gotten much closer as time went by before they had to leave. It wasn’t something they wanted to do but had to for their own protection, and that of the huamns nearby. Though while returning to Forks had been great for a lot of reasons, it also was bad for her. Because it would remind her of the deaths she had witnessed, including that of her father and mother, and even that of her step-parents. But still she was handling it to the best of her capabilities.
Still being back around the shifters had left quite an impact on all of them, including her daughter. Mostly the others within the coven, her family, did not like them for their stench and other obvious reasons. There were a few exceptions but her daughter, her father, Carlisle, and herself were more tolerant than the others. The truth of the matter was she liked most of the shifters despite their less than pleasant stench.
She could make it through an entire day or two without commenting on it, due to her resistance to alot of things. As long as they didn’t mention how she smelled to them, then she would reciprocate in kind. When they had been in Forks after her daughter was born, she could see the relationship between her daughter and a few of the shifters being close, like siblings would be. Though not all of them held that kind of bond with her daughter.
She didn’t have to be a mind reader like her husband to know that some of those bonds would still apply. She could remember with vivid clarity the day she found out her best friend, Jacob Black, had imprinted on her daughter with that wolfy claim of his. It was annoying to be outright honest, and she wanted to knock his lights out. Would have too, if Seth hadn’t intervened when he did. She did feel bad when she had knocked him into a tree, and she had appologized for it but he should have known better than to intervene. She knew that there was always a chance that Renesmee might not see Jacob as anything more than a friend and she would feel bad for her friend if that were the case as she knows how much Jacob had cared for her daughter and had been willing to sacrifice everything to protect her. To be everything she needed him to be. Truthfully if it hadn’t been Jacob who had imprinted on her daughter she wouldn’t know how she would have felt about it. If it had been someone else within the pack, would he have felt as upset about it?
Still she cared for the entire pack much in the same way Emily did. Only she wasn’t married to one. Though she knew about the fact that hunters liked to go after large prey and the wolves certainly were that. So she hoped for their sake they would stay off of the popular trails that the hunters took as she didn’t want to think of her friends within the pack being killed and put on some hunter’s wall, stuffed like a toy.
She couldn’t help but grin as she had heard that soft knock that the shifters often used. Opening the door she could see that his smile had disappeared slightly and she of course was curious but then his grin had returned so she thought nothing of it. “Hey Seth. I’m glad to see you.” She grinned reflecting her own brilliant white smile so that he could see it. “Yeah I can certainly say you’ve maybe grown half an inch since I last saw you, if that.” She chuckld lightly as she heard him say that she hadn’t changed a bit. “Oh I don’t know about that, Seth. I’ve gotten a lot stronger since you and I last saw eachother and I can’t help it that my appearance hasn’t altered but what do you expect when you’re immortal?” She winked at him as she said it.
When Seth asked if Renesmee was home she shook her head. “I’m afraid you just missed her. Her father took her out for a father-daughter day. Though I’m sure she will be home within a few hours, if you’d like to wait you can. If not, I’ll let her know you stopped by.” She told him honestly as she kind of hoped he’d stick around. As she missed the kid. Sure Seth had gone to her wedding and she knew the kid better than most would.
