The Volturi are the ruling body of the vampire world. The coven is headed by Aro, Marcus and Caius and has remained in power for over one thousand years, after the centuries-long war between them and the Romanian coven that resulted in the annihilation of almost all the Romanians and a shift in power to the Volturi themselves.
The Leaders
The Volturi has three leaders, headed by the Volturi founder, Aro. They keep the coven running, and preside over important matters.
Aro Volturi
vampire - 28 - tactile telepathy - played by Lexi/Aro
Aro is the founder of the Volturi coven, and one of the three leaders. Gifted with the ability of tactile telepathy, Aro is an ambitious, yet outwardly cheerful individual capable of being at ease in even the oddest situations; however, his greed and lust for power makes him capable of doing just about anything, and one should not take his politeness at face value. He is married to Sulpicia, and was the older brother of Didyme, Marcus' mate, whom he murdered.
Marcus Volturi
vampire - 30 - relationship identification - played by Arya
Marcus is one of the three leaders of the Volturi, but you wouldn't know that by watching him. Withdrawn and introverted since the loss of his mate, Didyme, it is often said that Marcus is in an emotional coma, and longs for death so that he may join his beloved mate. His is apathetic and callous as a result of Didyme's death, is in a constant state of depression, and has no idea that she was murdered by none other than his brother-in-law and fellow leader Aro. He is gifted with the ability of relationship identification, and most vampires barely consider him living.
Caius Volturi
vampire - 23 - no power - played by Jane
The third leader of the Volturi, Caius' intense hatred of the Romanian coven led Aro to offer him a place at his side, despite their often differing views. Considered the most ruthless of the three leaders, he often advocates for the most aggressive solutions to any given problem, which contrasts with his outwardly civilised lifestyle in that his solutions generally involve execution where at all possible. Inwardly, however, he is the most insecure of the three leaders, and enjoys abusing his authority to appear more powerful. He has a deep hatred of werewolves (the true werewolves) after almost being killed by one.

The guard consists of many powerful vampires, some of whom were sired by Aro himself in his quest to create a coven of unparalleled strength. They carry out the orders of the three leaders.
Jane Volturi
vampire - between 13&16 - illusion of pain - played by Lise
A high-ranking guard within the Volturi, Jane is one of the most widely feared vampires, even just the mentioning of her name being enough to keep many vampires in line. The twin sister of Alec, she is incredibly sadistic, and enjoys using her gift on others, especially those more physically imposing than herself. She has a violent temper that often manifests when her gift is rendered useless, or when people believe her to be weak; however, around Alec and Aro, she shows different colours, and her bond with her twin is very strong. She is gifted with the illusion of pain and, along with her twin, Alec, is considered one of the Volturi's most powerful offensive weapons, as her gift is incredibly useful in installing fear and maintaining control.
Alec Volturi
vampire - between 13&16 - sensory deprivation - played by Chey
The twin brother of Jane, Alec is one of the highest ranking guards in the Volturi as well as the Volturi's most offensive weapon in battle. Gifted with the ability to deprive multiple enemies of their senses at one time, he is nevertheless the calmer twin, and is not nearly as outwardly sadistic as Jane, though the two share an incredibly close relationship. Still, even though his temper doesn't quite match his twin's, Alec is just as ruthless and self-interested as she, and is the type of person who will go from having a mundane conversation to ripping someone's head off in less than one second's time, which makes him incredibly dangerous to deal with, especially since he shows no remorse for taking anyone's life during Volturi missions.
Chelsea Volturi
vampire - 22 - relationship manipulation - played by ashiesgirl
The linchpin of the Volturi, Chelsea's gift of relationship manipulation is what holds the Volturi together, and she knows it. With a quicksilver temper, Chelsea is one of the vampires one does not want to cross, though her generally cheerful nature tends to prevent people from being too off-put by her. Mated to Afton, a low-ranking guard, she is an inwardly self-conscious vampire, though she still prides herself incredibly on her looks, and enjoys how her gift keeps the Volturi together, particularly Marcus, who would have died long ago were it not for her ability to tie him to Aro and Caius, as she has done with many of the others.
Felix Volturi
vampire - 24 - no power - open
Physically imposing and possessing advanced somatic abilities, Felix has remained in the Volturi for many years, ever since he was sired by Aro to be part of the guard. Despite his appearance, however, Felix appears to be somewhat flirtatious and light-hearted, and is a generally cocky individual, due to his fighting skills being completely unparalleled within the guard. Still, he is also incredibly vicious and cold-blooded, as seen during his execution of the innocent Bree Tanner, and his place within the Volturi guard is well-deserved for that reason alone. He often works together with Demetri on missions, and the two share a relatively close friendship.
Demetri Volturi
vampire - 21 - tracking sense - open
Polite, formal, and one of the more reasonable members of the Volturi guard, Demetri's tracking skills make him widely feared in smaller vampiric circles, due to his startling success rate. He isn't as sadistic as some of his coven mates, however, and is often seen calmly standing back in the wake of conflict, though he will not hesitate to attack when ordered, and he enjoys working with the Volturi, though he was originally part of the Egyptian coven. Very elegant and charming in most other matters, he shares a strong friendship with Felix, and the two often work together on various missions.
Renata Volturi
vampire - 20 - physical attack diversion - played by Jane
Aro's personal guard, Renata Volturi is a very quiet woman, not prone to speaking out in situations where there are many clashing opinions, as she greatly prefers to listen. She does not harbour the same kind of bloodlust as her coven mates, and does not desire conflict, though she is incredibly protective of her coven, especially Aro, and becomes disturbed when he places himself in danger. She wants to find a mate for herself, like some of the other Volturi members have, but she will not let that get in the way of her duties.
Yuki Volturi
vampire - 22- limited force field generation - played by Aro/Lexi
Caius' personal guard, Yuki's eccentric personality often puts her at odds with the more serious members of the Volturi, though her determination to see her missions through keeps her in the good graces of the leaders. To many, she is a girl without morals or shame, though this doesn't seem to bother her at all, she is nevertheless becoming more aware and more careful with her actions, as they have gotten her into trouble several times with her higher-ups.
Heidi Volturi
vampire - 26 - physical attraction - played by Heidi
In charge of making sure the Volturi never want for human victims, Heidi's gift of intense physical attraction makes it easy for her to lure many victims from outside Volterra to the large castle the Volturi call home, and she greatly enjoys doing it. Nevertheless, she is an intelligent woman, not to be dismissed or underestimated just because of her looks, as evidenced by the many schemes she uses to get humans to Volterra, and is occasionally prone to worrying that she will one day be dismissed from the Volturi, as she worries that her only use is providing them with food.
Santiago Volturi
vampire - 23 - no power - open
Though not as physically powerful as Felix, Santiago is still a powerful vampire, as evidenced by his being in the Volturi guard in the first place. His lack of a power and not being as powerful as Felix means he is quick to obey any order given to him by Aro, as he is aware he could be easily disposed of.
Afton Volturi
vampire - 27 - mental invisibility - open
A member of the Volturi guard, Afton's presence in the Volturi is only tolerated because of his more powerful mate, Chelsea, and he is very much aware of that. He is a more cautious individual, due to his precarious position, but he can also be a tad bit cocky, for awhile he's aware he's only in the Volturi because of Chelsea, he also knows that they can't get rid of him without losing her loyalty, which holds the Volturi together.
Corin Volturi
vampire - between 15&17 - addictive contentment - open
Gifted with the ability of addictive contentment, Corin spends most of her days in the wives' tower, keeping Athenodora and Sulpicia content with their husbands' obsessive need to keep them safe; however, she is also under orders from Aro to keep Chelsea content as well, to prevent her from leaving the Volturi. If vampires who are continuously exposed to her gift for a long period of time are away from her for two long, they feel uneasy, and Corin isn't often sure how she feels about that. A quiet individual, Corin is often shy and soft-spoken, and she prefers to avoid social situations within the Volturi where possible, as she is sometimes frightened by their sheer brutality, though she would never think of leaving hem.
Alyxander Volturi
vampire - 16 - mediumship - played by Arya
Another of the Volturi's bulk guards, Alyxander's ability to comune with the dead ensures she is never without some sort of company, and though her use to the Volturi is occasionally questioned by other members of the guard, the knowledge she gains from the dead is enough for Aro to keep her amongst the ranks. Sarcastic, flattering, and ambitious, Alyxander can usually be found looking for ways to further her advancement within the guard, though she has some kinder qualities which she usually keeps hidden away, afraid it will damage her reputation in others' eyes.
George Volturi
vampire - 17 - classified - played by Mel
Logical and caring, many of the Volturi guard are disdainful and wary around George, the newest member of their ranks to date. Furthermore, the fact no one is aware of his power is cause for a ripple of mistrust among the lower ranked guards especially, though they are not so callous as to outwardly snub him for fear of angering Aro or the other higher-ups. Mated to a vampire named Sarah, George's quiet and shy nature endears him to some and alienates him to others, depending on personal preference.

Athenodora Volturi
Vampire - 21 - no power - played by Desmoius
Caius' wife and mate, Athenodora spends most of her days in the lavish tower of the Volturi's castle, carefully watched and kept content by Corin's power, alongside Aro's wife Sulpicia, with whom she shares a close friendship, although they disagree at times. Outwardly waifish and quiet, she and Caius are very dependant on each other, though she is more calm and polite than he is. Though she is kept content by Corin's power, however, she still has periods of longing for the freedom she once enjoyed.
Sulpicia Volturi
Vampire - 18 - no gift - played by Desmoius
Aro's wife and mate, Sulpicia, though more outgoing than Athenodora, is still kept in place by Corin's gift. In possession of a fear of being rejected, she is constantly trying to please those around her, and isn't much for speaking her mind or going out of her way to make herself heard, though she sometimes wishes she could, as she values conversation. She is highly subservient to her husband, Aro, whom she is constantly trying to please.

Eleazar Denali
vampire - 26 - power identification - played by Arya
A former member of the Volturi guard, valuable to Aro for his ability to identify the abilities of other vampires, Eleazar, though sometimes unhappy with the Volturi, remained with them for many years, recognising the need for laws and the upholding of those laws despite his own gentle nature. His belief became shaken when he realised the Volturi were more interested in power than maintaining the laws, and when he met Carmen she was unwilling to join due to their lifestyle. Eleazar asked for Aro's blessing to leave, and although reluctant, Aro gave it. He has since embraced the vegetarian lifestyle and settled in Denali with his mate, Carmen.
Carlisle Cullen
vampire - 23 - extreme compassion (arguably a gift) - played by Mel
Arguably a former member of the Volturi, since he was never induced into the ranks of the guards, Carlisle Cullen nevertheless lived with the Volturi for two years, learning much of their way of life even as he refused to embrace their carnivorous lifestyle. The Volturi were intrigued by his refusal to consume human blood, and allowed him to stay with them, and they have remained in contact with him even after he left, though the relationship became shaky and strained following the incident with Renesmee.

Not officially part of the Volturi, there are still some humans aware of the nature of vampires. These humans generally have a wish to become immortal, and will offer to do mundane jobs that are beneath the members of the guard. The Volturi secretary is one of these humans.

Though not members of the guard, these vampires are occasionally affiliated with the Volturi, known to carry out certain tasks, and whether this is because the price is right or a out strong sense of loyalty to their overlords is dependant on each vampire.
Nikolai Belanov
vampire - 25 - chameleon effect - played by Chey
A born and bred aristocrat in his time, Nikolai was driven to near-madness after the death of his lover and sire, Joseph Steinitz, which pushed him into building himself a network of contacts purely out of a desire for distraction and to calm himself. He is known through the vampiric underground as the man to go to when you need just about anything, whether your needs are sanctuary, to locate someone or something, or have legal documents changed. His prices are steep however, though he has been known to waive them for the right reasons, and his loyalty is a fickle thing, though he is known for never divulging information on those who contact him.
Katherine O'Reilly
vampire - 21 - luck - played by Alyssa
A strong-willed resident of Volterra, Katherine is a passionate individual who believes strongly in Volturi, though she is also very distrustful, and carries her past with her wherever she goes. Disinclined to give more than one chance to anyone, Katherine operates under the assumption that if you're stupid enough to offend her twice, you don't deserve to keep on living. Her strong loyalty to the Volturi has resulted in Aro taking notice of her, and though she isn't part of the guard itself, many of the Volturi members recognise her and allow her to live within Volterra itself.
