But as of late one affiliated member has shown that she is loyal and will follow the orders of Aro without question. This person goes by the name of Katherine O’Reilly. She has shown Aro that she has the will and determination to join his guard.
As have all his current guards. So this was something he had been debating over for some time, and after talking to his brothers it was decided to offer her a Poston in the guard she would be put into the middle ranked guards due to most of high ranking guards consider it one of them already.
Aro already had her cloak and pendent ready, as he knew one day he would give them to her and that day was today. But first she would have to take the oath so to speak, and she did not need Chelsea to bind her to Aro she did it of her own free will. The time had come he would summon O’Reilly to the throne room, this would be a quick ceremony due to he had a couple of executions after this. The pendent and cloak where next to him.

In her long eternal life she never once thought she would be at this point. She had been affiliated with the Volturi for quite some time. Never did she doubt that she should follow the Volturi, despite having been older than most of them. It didn’t matter of course as she would do anything she had to in order to prove her loyalty. Which was something she had done for quite some time. She did not know if her will and determination to follow the rules, and to follow Aro’s orders without question would be enough to join the Volturi in years past. Of course she was unsure what today would bring.
Being a guard was something she had thought about from time to time. She knew how rare it was, that someone was given that position. But she had never been invited to join the Volturi before and she knew better than to ask about it. She knew if it was meant to happen that it would, simple as that. She had been at hers and Alex’s castle when she recieved word that Aro would like to speak to her. She had quickly gotten herself ready and entered the Volturi’s castle.
Before long she found herself being escourted into the throne room. She wondered what it was about as the guard who had come to retrieve her would not say a word about it. Which of course made the vampire nervous. After all she knew she hadn’t betrayed the Volturi but still anything was possible. Before long she saw none other than Aro Volturi. Taking a deep and unneeded breath she walked into the throne room further. “Hello Master.”
She couldn’t help but be curious as to what this was all about as no one would say anything. Which made her wonder if it was a good thing or a bad thing. But she figured if it was a bad thing she would be dead before too long. Though she couldn’t have imagined what she would have done that would be considered a bad thing as she had always followed the orders to a “T,” as the humans would say. She just hoped that everything would be alright. “You called for me, Master?” She wondered if things were going to remain as they always have been or change for the better. And she hoped they would change for the better. Not that she expected extra or special treatment simply because she was Alex’s mate, who was Aro’s sire.

She had earned her place at last within the Volturi; and Aro was proud to bestow it on her. Aro smiled to her as she stopped before him, he would then look to her and would speak saying.
“ O’Reilly... Thank you for coming, I have something I wish to discuss with you. You have shown me and my brothers that you are truly committed to the Volturi, and so it has been decided. That if you wish to take on a more important role within my guard then it is only right you should become one of us.
Yes O’Reilly I am inviting you to join my guard and in doing so become a full member of the this coven. But you will have to uphold the laws we enforce and never break them. For if you do it will end in death.” Aro smiled and looked over to the stand to the right of him, that had a grey cloak and a Volturi pendent resting on its arms.
“ O Riley. I Aro Volturi do here by swear you into the Volturi as a member of my guards do you agree with follow the rules of your Masters and never to disobey any command gave to you by the leaders or that of the high ranking members of my guard. If choose not to except the potion be aware I will not offer it again.

She stepped forward though still maintained a respectable distance from her Master. “What is it my lord?” She asked, using the same politeful tone she always used around the Masters. Only a few had heard her use a less than polite tone and it had never occurred inside the castle. She wasn’t a fool as she would never speak in an ill manner around the Volturi. That was just asking for death and death alone. To her it felt like an eternity before her Master spoke again, and it was then that she felt the world came to a complete stop when he dropped the bombshell on her. An invitation into the very coven he and his brothers had created so many years ago. If she could dream it would be a dream come true. It was something she never would have believed if she wasn’t actually in the room.
When the moment came when he offered her a position in his guard, she couldn’t help but grin. She liked the fact that he and his brothers agreed to make her a part of it. It showed that her loyalty was worth it, not that she would have ever become disloyal had this not occurred. But it certainly was helpful to know they appreciated her loyalty. When he mentioned what would happen if she ever not followed the rules or a direct order that she would die. “Of course, Master.”
She took a deep unneeded breath as she formed the words she wanted to say. She could see the grey cloak and the Volturi penden resting on a stand. A smile appeared on her face. “I understand. Yes of course I accept this offer. and I swear that I will never refuse an order, whether it comes from you, your brothers, or any other high ranked guard. And that I agree to follow the rules, no matter what it might be. Thank you, Master. I hope I am never a disappointment, as your guard.”
She said once again politely. She would do anything and everything to ensure that she was not to do anything that could lead to her death. As not only would it be a painful death, but it would also hurt her mate. And that alone was dangerous enough. She didn’t want to put that on Alex, knowing how long they had been alone before and she didn’t want to be the reason that he would be alone again.
She was very happy at the moment and could not wait until she told her mate and her friend, Chelsea. She didn’t even care how low ranked she was among the guards as she was just happy to be apart of it, though she was still somewhat surprised. She kept her emotions in check, as she looked at her Master. She couldn't help but wonder what would happen next.

Aro was proud of her on some level, all she ever wanted was to be part of his guard; and she finely got her wish. This was nothing to do with the fact she was dating his father. Aro had no view on that topic. His father was allowed to fall in love with whom he chooses, but now that Kat is member of the guard she would have to spend time with Alex when she is off duty, just like the other guards do with their loved ones or friends.

Deep down Aro would give her a second chance, if she did screw up, but he was not about to tell her that. The fear Aro wields; should be enough to keep her on the right path and out of the path so many have taken to death. Time would tell if Kat would make something of her self, but who knows one day she may find her self being promoted .

She smiled warmly towards Aro as she was glad that he had given her this oppertunity. An oppertunity to truly serve him and his brothers. To be a part of the guard it had been something she had hoped to be, and now it was coming true. And she couldn’t be more proud of herself. She had of course hoped that because she was offered a place in the guard that she had shown how loyal she was, and how she would do anything for the leaders of the Volturi. She knew she was different from most other vampires. She hoped it meant that she had shown that she could truly be trusted. When Aro spoke she let him speak without being interrupted. Nodding once she looked at her Master. “Yes, Master. I understand. I look forward to it. But I’m sure I can handle it. While still upholding the rules as they have been laid before me.” It was the honest truth.
She was proud of herself. Proud of what she had become. She had not only found herself a mate but now was a part of the guard which meant she would have to follow through with what the others did. That she would have to see Alex only when she was off duty. And that she couldn’t let her relationship with him affect what she was doing for the Volturi. She understood what that meant because she had seen how Chelsea had done it. Of course it was difficult but what was life without a little risk? She would keep herself on the right track as she did not want to end up dead before she had a chance to truly see how a life with a mate could be like.
Accepting the path of being a guard was a good sign. A good step in the right direction. Still she was excited for what the future held now. Now that she had something worth living for. “I hope to serve you well. And I will do everything I can to ensure I won’t be on the execution list. Though I understand that once it’s on that list..that my life is forfeit. And if it comes to that, I will accept my fate. As I know the Volturi do not give second chances.” She spoke with the tone that in her long life she was used to speaking with. It was like she was speaking from another time.
Truth was she didn’t want to fail Aro. Because it would mean she had failed herself. And that was something she didn’t want to handle. She did not want to follow a path that would lead to death. Perhaps in time she would prove that being on the guard, that she could still provide the best assistance to Aro, Marcus and Caius’ cause, and that she would make something of herself. She didn’t think of anything other than just helping them. It wasn’t about being promoted to a higher level that she wanted to instantly become, but she would bide her time and wait to see how things evolved. She still did not want to fail or do anything that would upset Aro especially.
