For a shifter, Amber has been through a lot. Her parents are both dead; one killed by vampires, She lives as the youngest in a house full of boys, She hasn't stayed in one place for more then two months: usually thanks to one of her brothers. Amber nearly laughed as her oldest brother asked about her opinion of staying in Forks. She had said, she would love to stay AS A JOKE, and apparently her brother took that literally. Ok, she admit, it was a nice place, but it was about as gloomy as her fourth eldest brother, Nico.... And maybe even gloomier, if even possible. Amber couldn't believe it; She could officially say her brothers were utterly Out of their, for the love of the great spirit, minds! Although, these were her brothers she was talking about. Anyone could have figured that out.
"I'm going on a hunt! Don't wait up!" Amber shouted into the small cabin, not even bothering to wait for an answer from her brothers. She slammed the wooden door shut before jumping off the porch. As she hit the ground, Amber shifted; Her hands growing into paws as she grew fur. The now small golden-red wolf, that was Amber, shook her small head before patting forward, heading into the woods.
As Amber slipped underneath logs and short undergrowth, that she could slip underneath, because of her small size, the young wolf began thinking. She admit, she enjoyed her wolf form, almost embraced this "gift" She had. Se knew it was rare, a girl shifter that was. Her brothers always teased her about it, not really thinking. It sort of stung, but the young girl usually shrugged it off. Her brothers never meant any harm. Yeah, ok She was a girl, but she could hold herself in a fight. She could take her brothers in a fight, although she knew they let her win. Amber shook her head slightly. Her brothers, when in wolf form, practically dwarfed her. Each of them were about 9-10 ft easy, while she barely reached 6ft. She was even the smallest in human form, barely reaching 5'7, while her brothers were freaken 6'ft and higher. Although it was really annoying, A came to embrace her small size. She was built for speed and stamina while her brothers were built for brute strength.
'Ooo... Elk...' Immediately, Amber let her wolf instincts kick in. She brought her nose to the ground, taking in the scent,'6... A baby, 5 adults... One male...' Amber immediately spun, racing to chase the scent. Her red ears flicked forward, listening for a moment. 'Birds, birds... big bird... cricket, Come on, Focus Acer!.... leaves... Ah-ha! Hooves...' Amber's light blue eyes narrowed as she zeroed in on her target.
Now, Amber has an interesting way of hunting. Being one and a very small female, Amber had a hard time hunting by herself. She had studied the eating habits of other wolves, and all seemed to be the same. Then she tried cats. Amber's ears flicked back as she heard the herd moving closer. Amber was perched in a tree, crouching low to the branch. She was light enough she could do such a feat. It was a weird way of hunting, but it worked for Amber.
Her brilliant blue eyes narrowed as the elks appeared from the bushes, moving slowly. They hadn't smelled her; good, it was kind of embarrassing to be stuck in a tree while your prey dashed off in the opposite direction. Amber nearly let out a bark of laughter at the thought of one of her early hunts. As the large male moved underneath, Amber let out a low growl before leaping from the branch, landing on the elk's back. A loud call of the male elk send the others into a scatter, as Amber clenched her jaws around the elks windpipe. As the elk fell, laying on the ground, now dead, Amber grinned a wolffish grin. She thanked the great spirits for such a meal before digging into the huge meal.
Amber was so busy eating, she barely noticed anyone watching her....
