Renesmee Cullen smiled as she got off the motorcycle. Thank you for taking me to school, Jake. She said as she swiftly gave Jacob Black a hug. Jacob was a good friend and he was like big brother to her, who always took care of her and worried about her sometimes even more than her parents did. Renesmee was absolutely thankful that he agreed to take her to school today as her family had gone hunting very early before she woke up. Normally, she would take that as an excuse to skip school but she had no idea why school seemed extraordinarily exciting today. Maybe it was because there were pizzas in today’s menu! Watching Jacob leave, she let out a smile then went inside.
Taking a deep breath, Renesmee filled her lungs with fresh air. Fifty years had passed but this place still looked the same. The world was changing in a blink of an eye and Forks was still that old small town where people knew each other very well. They knew who you were, where you came from, who were your parents, your grandparents or maybe even your great-grandparents. Returning to Forks after half a century meant that the Cullens had to blend in once more; they had to pretend to be strangers once more. Renesmee knew everything about this town, every road, every path, every corner of this town and it was quite hard for her to play a newcomer in her hometown. Strangers coming to this town were like… aliens to the residents. Well, maybe that was quite exaggerative to say so but Renesmee was quite sure about that opinion when it came to Forks High school. It was a few weeks since her first day at school but everyone still found it rather hard to get used to the presence of the Cullens around the school. However, Renesmee enjoyed the attention quite much, despite knowing that she should keep a low profile when going to school, since she definitely did not want people to realize the mysterious family of fifty years ago had returned and time did not age them at all.
Renesmee looked at her watched: she had plenty of time until the shrill bell rang. Letting her gaze fell across the schoolyard, she spotted a perfect place to enjoy a few free minutes. Quickly, she ran over a giant tree lying humbly at the corner of the yard and sat down under its shade. Wearing her headphones on, she switched on her iPod. A happy smile grew on her face as she recognized her favorite song being played. I would call you up every Saturday night, and we both stayed out till the morning light… She tapped her foot to the music and hummed along with the tune. Today would be a peaceful day.

The vampire kept her eyes peeled, although she knew that there was very little in the way of fear, she did not want to risk the Volturi ripping her apart like they’d threatened to all but half a century ago. She had to believe that somehow it was all going to work out like it was meant to. Even if it was hard to believe now. It was the start of a new era in Forks, Washington. Pretending to be strangers—it was hard on her given this was the place she had fallen in love with her husband. The place where her father had lived, and where she had been born not that it mattered, as no one from her past still was alive, at least not in Forks. In La Push it was something else altogether.
She had been at the High School early. Something she had always done in order to stay out of the sunlight as much as she possibly could, even with the cloudy and wet atmosphere that Forks often held. It was a comfortable place to return to. Edward had gone on inside the halls, as had the others from her coven. It was almost bittersweet to return. She had been there aproximately fifteen minutes before she heard the motercycle pull up. It was none other than her best friend, Jacob Black, giving her only daughter Renesmee, a ride to school. She was grateful that he was looking out for her daughter, especially with things being a bit hectic around the Cullen household.
Of course being a vampire, she had hunted before arriving at the school, otherwise it would be quite disasterous, especially due to the fact they could smell everyone long before they saw them. When Jacob had stopped to drop her daughter off, she stood up and gave her oldest friend a smile, and watched as he drove away. How much time really had flown by in what felt like a blink of an eye. Walking through those front doors, she realized that Forks had not changed all that much. There were still the same stereotypes, the “in crowd” and then the “strange ones” as they referred to her family like. Not that it mattered, because honestly if she or her family members lost control, the entire school could have been devoured in a matter of minutes. Of course she knew if that was the case the Volturi would be here in a heartbeat, no pun intended, to kill them all.
As a vampire she had learned how to act like a human, thanks to Rosalie’s and the others’ help. It was odd at first learning how to be human when she had been that way for over seventeen years, but it was quite a lot different when she had woken up as a vampire. She had to literally retrain herself in order to appear more like an ordinary human. It hadn’t taken long to learn, but it was something she was grateful for especially when she met her father as a vampire.
Returning back to the town that had started it all for her was bittersweet. She had lived here through the summers as a young girl after her parents had divorced, had lived here as a Junior at High School up until her senior year when she had become a vampire. All along the way there had been set backs. Especially when it came to dealing with her best friend, Jacob Black, albeit now their relationship was slightly different than it had been over fifty years ago, all due to her daughter being his imprintee.
Taking an unneeded breath, the near seventy year old vampire, realized that Forks would never change, not really. Sure people came and went, but it was the kind of town that everyone knew everyone. Who your parents were, your grandparents, even possibly your great grandparents were. The atmosphere hadn’t changed and it was brilliant to return to it. It was foggy and wet alot of the time, didn’t have a lot of sunshine which meant they could go out and about without sparkling like a million diamonds. Of course as a member of the Cullen coven, she had gotten used to the stares and the questions surrounding them. Edward had told her what most of them were thinking, which was quite similiar to what people thought of them fifty years ago. Even though she had known this town like the back of her hand, every road in and out of town, the woods....it meant she had to play like an actress. To be a newcomer in a place she called home. Although her family were more than just aliens to the people in the Forks community. She recalled her first impression of the family when they had arrived, when she was still human....like how beautiful they were.
She didn’t mind the stares so much...it was something she had gotten used to as a vampire. Especially since she’d seen alot of it. They were like shiny new toys—the strangers—of Forks High. Were people afraid of them? She wondered about that. They would sit at the same table that she had remembered them sitting at from when she was still a human, a junior in the very halls that they were now returning to. Although she had her own child to worry about, it was hard to truly let go of the maternal instinct that had developed in the time Renesmee had been inside of her. The last thing any of them wanted was for someone of this town to realize that their family had just moved back—but that they were the mysterious ones, who hadn’t aged a bit in fifty years.
Of course the vampire stood at the other end of the school yard, knowing her daughter was sitting under one of the giant trees at the corner of the yard. She had walked over to her daughter, not allowing her full speed to be used. She didn’t want anyone raising suspicions. As she recalled remembering when Edward had saved her life from when one of her classmates had slid on the ice and nearly had crushed her. He’d gotten to her so fast, and she didn’t want someone else to have the same questions she once had. Within a moment or two, she found herself sitting next to her daughter, smiling at her. She knew that her daughter would know that she was there, as even Renesmee could pick up on when a family member was nearby, due to her being a half vampire. Their senses were sharp compared to most. A delicate hand was placed on her daughter’s shoulder as she sat next to her. She figured she wouldn’t be able to hear her, through all the music so she waited until Renesmee turned the contraption off, if she would do it. There was still plenty of time until the first bell was to ring. She knew that at least this time she wouldn’t have to pay as much attention, given she had already heard the material more than once. Question was did the school still keep records going back fifty years? And if so, were they in danger because of it?

Music kept playing. Renesmee leaned against the tree as she remembered her previous day at school. In her Spanish class, the teacher asked her to sit with a pink-haired girl whose name was Heather. That girl was a cheerful girl and a prankster who always had a good sense of humor. She sometimes pulled pranks on her classmates and even the teachers. Some people found Heather annoying; some thought she was interesting. Renesmee believed that she was the second type. They had a short conversation in Spanish since the teacher did not allow English in the class. Renesmee remembered asking her new friend how her parents felt about all her pranks and being surprised at her answer: “They know nothing about my little tricks. I have millions of way to fool them into believing that I am a good kid. Because…obviously they are not at school.” Heather’s saying made Renesmee realize she sometimes forgot the fact that her parents went to school with her everyday. It was kind of fun yet occasionally awkward to study in the same class with your mom and dad and treat them like her friends. But to be honest, she felt safe to have her parents around all the time as she knew they would take care of her. They would not let something go wrong. But she still excitedly wondered what her parents would do if she pulled a prank on her Math teacher, who she did not like at all. However, the girl immediately got rid of that thought as she knew who, or what she was – she should never draw attention.
Renesmee found out one more interesting thing about her new friend: Heather had a secret crush on her father – Edward Cullen; she even wanted to flirt with him. They spent the whole Spanish class to talk about Heather’s plan to approach Edward. Renesmee played a very great listener as she never interrupted but just listened carefully and sometimes smiled to keep the conversation going on. There was no need to say how hard Nessie had to try to hold back her laughter. Well, Heather was not the only one in this school that was dazzled by the Cullens in general and by Edward Cullen in particular. The girl was pretty eager to tell her mother about her new friend but she decided to keep that little secret to herself as a funny memory of this place once her family had to leave the town again. Physical look was one of the strengths, probably one of the tools for vampires to seduce their preys. She shivered a bit as she thought about the vampires that sucked human blood, like the Volturi. She wondered whether it was a good thing to be excited about the ball which would take place right in Volterra or not. She was not afraid of the Volturi as they had not showed any harm to her for fifty years. What she was afraid of was the instinct of a vampire. Human blood was running in her vein. She smelled like a human in some respects and probably tasted like a human as well. Would she put herself in danger if she showed up at the ball?
Renesmee was startled as she heard someone coming closer to her. As she turned around to see who it was, a hand had been placed on her shoulder. Immediately, she realized her mother as sat next to her. Mom, you’re here! Renesmee uttered, trying to keep her voice low as she called her mother. Of course she did not want anyone to question her relationship with her mother, who was believed to be her sister, or friend at the time. A childish smile grew on her lips as she turned her iPod off. Renesmee loved acting like a child when her family was around though she desperately hated being called a little girl. Nevertheless, she was always careful not to let them realize that fact that she absolutely enjoyed the attention she got from her parents, her grandparents, her aunts and uncles. Where is everybody? I thought all of you would skip school today. She asked as her eyes looked around, searching for other members of her family. Her chocolate-brown eyes finally settled on her mother’s golden eyes. How was the hunting, Mom? I bet everyone was excited and Emmett must have got the biggest one for himself again.

The woman smiled at her daughter. She was such a happy girl, and as a mother she could not be more proud of how her daughter was. Though there were often times where she had to parent without appearing like a parent, which got complicated at times. As she had to pretend that she was nothing more than a friend or a sister to her own daughter. Which was a bit hard to pull off at times but she’d managed to handle it as best that anyone in her circumstance could. She enjoyed being a mother, even if it made her worry more than she ever had as a human.
Being a wife of course was even more fun. She always had someone there by her side, whenever she needed them. Of course being what they were, it was safe to say that it was not safe to draw unnecessary attention to themselves. Safer that way.
Somehow it always worked out for the best. Still, with the Volturi bringing another ball to their attention, she couldn’t help but be worried. She knew what Aro was capable of, and how he would have liked more than anything to have her, Edward and Alice under his control. Something that would never happen. Although she was nervous about how it would go over...since they had lived relatively in peace after what had happened fifty years ago. Although resisting human blood was hard on all of them, she knew that it was just as dangerous as anything else could be. Although she understood the reasons why Carlisle wanted them to go to the ball, to keep the peace, but as a parent, she worried for the safety of her own child in their presence. She didn’t want her daughter’s life being in danger due to being around the Volturi again. No one knew when they would make their move again. She knew as well as anyone that the Volturi still coveted some of them to an extent.
She knew that her daughter would know she was there before most people would have. “Yes, I am. I couldn’t just very well not come to class. Even if I’ve been through it once or twice before.” She watched her daughter’s childish smile appear and she was glad that her daughter wanted to talk. She watched as her daughter’s ipod was turned off. She also knew her daughter well enough to know that she enjoyed playing like a child when around their family members. Though she enjoyed giving her daughter attention, just like any mother would. “You won’t find the others. After our hunt, Rosalie dragged Emmett into going shopping with her, I think they were headed to Mexico last I saw them, they’ll be gone for a few days. Alice and Jasper I think should be on the way here soon, unless Alice decides to go somewhere else, due to a vision. And I have no idea where your father has gotten off to. He was supposed to meet me here, but I guess something must have come up. Carlisle’s at the hospital, and Esme’s still at home. But it’s sure nice to be back. I’ve missed this place.” Her voice was low, but her daughter would be able to hear it even if others couldn’t.

Renesmee released her smile when she heard her mother mentioned that she had been through a student’s life once or twice. Unlike Bella, it was the first time Renesmee went to a public high school. She was home-schooled by her parents or grandparents for most of the time; furthermore, when the Cullen left Forks and traveled around the world, she did not have a chance to go to school either as her family did not remain in a place for so long. Thus, she barely knew a thing about being a normal student. Returning to Forks meant that she finally had a chance to join the human society, which she was pretty curious about. There was nothing much she could learn at school due to the fact that she had learned all of them already. The only interesting thing about school was the environment. It was a lot of fun studying with a lot of people and being taught by different teachers. Moreover, in Forks High, her parents, unless and aunts were no longer the adults. That thought really made her laugh. Here they were treated as if they were kids, like her. Renesmee sometimes wondered whether it was annoying to her parents when they had to be stuck in teenage appearance or not. Her father was changed when he was seventeen and her mother was changed when she was eighteen. Therefore, they looked just like her friends or siblings more than her parents. Nevertheless, in her eyes, they were the best parents on Earth. They were always respected and so admirable. Once in a blue moon, Renesmee wished someday she could tell the world that she was the daughter of Edward and Bella Cullen’s. It was a crazy idea but she just had no other way to show how proud she was.
She gently let out a sigh as her mother informed her of her uncles and her aunts’ absence. Why does everyone always go shopping when I’m at school? She pouted childishly but eventually let out her laughter. Renesmee enjoyed clothes pretty much, at least much more than her mother. She liked going shopping with her aunts, spending the day at the mall and trying on clothes. Her sense of fashion was not so bad in some respects, she hoped so. However, her sense of fashion sometimes annoyed her aunts as she only wanted to wear boy-like clothes. The girl once tried to break her weird habit but she made no improvement in the end. Renesmee was still Renesmee.
The girl had expected to see all of her family at school but she guessed everyone had their own plan. Carlisle and Esme could never be separated. Rosalie was always with Emmett. Alice was always with Jasper. Her parents stick together like glue all the time. Looking at them, Renesmee could not help but wonder why they never got tired of being together. She liked having a lot of friends and hardly could she spend a whole day with one certain person. Was that the magic of love – never get tired of being together? She had never been in love. She did not know what a crush was like either. Jacob was a good friend of her but he was only a big brother to her at the time being. What was it like to be loved? She sometimes asked herself that question. She was loved by her family and she loved them back wholeheartedly. But never did she know the love of a man but it sure felt nice when he held her hand. She knew that as she saw her mother always smile happily when her father held her mother’s hand. Gosh… she was daydreaming. She should get rid of it now. Well, she was still a child – fifty years old but still a child.
A cheesy grin grew on Renesmee’s face when her mother mentioned her father. I don’t know, Mom. Maybe Dad was attacked by the girls in our school. A friend in my Spanish class even made a plan to approach him. She laughed. She let her gaze fell across the yard and smiled. Yes, it is good to be back. I missed this place too; and I missed Grandpa so much.

Being a parent, she had to do what was best for her family. Especially for her daughter. She knew that Renesmee had been dying to be a part of a real traditional school. Instead of being home-schooled by her own family, this part she knew without a shadow of a doubt. However, it was something she was proud of. They had taught her everything they knew to be the case and Carlisle was one of the best teachers in her oppinion. None of them had stayed in one place for too long so before now none of them had had a traditional schooling setting to be involved with. Being normal was vastly overrrated in her mind, as she had become a vampire when she had turned into an adult, although to most people she appeared to be a teeenager, nothing more....nothing less.
Returning to Forks brought back good and bad memories, of course. Good because this was the place she was teh most familiar with aside from Phoenix, and bad because it meant her father was no longer among them. Charlie had died and it was horrible to think about but she had pressed on the way that any other person could. She thought of Charlie and even her own mother, Renee from time to time. She knew that this time, Renesmee would be joining the rest of their family in High School which meant they would have more than enough of a reason to be cautious. Her brothers and sisters were no longer adults, and nor was she and her husband, which was quite remarkable to remember. Of course here, they were just kids like anyone else. A fact that sometimes got a bit annoying but she had to play the part, they all did. It was safer that way. Although she preferred the idea of looking like an eighteen year old forever instead of looking like her Grand did, when she died, like an elderly woman. She had no idea what it was like for the others of course, as she had chosen this, they hadn’t. Of course it was complicated being a parent to someone who looked like they could be your sister instead. She had the most precious gift in the world, that of her daughter. She didn’t know what she would do without her little bundle of joy. Yes Renesmee was an adult by all intents and purposes, with her actual age, but with vampires, it worked slightly differently. She was still young too, even if she had been in this world sixty eight years. Part of her wanted to be able to parent her daughter the way all other mothers could, but that would of course prove to be dangerous, because in the eyes of mortals, that would mean something wasn’t right about them and would provide more questions than answers. They would be in danger. And the Volturi would be coming after them. Just like last time and it was something she hoped to avoid.
“I’m sure that Alice will probably call once school’s out and we can meet up with her. You know how much she likes to go shopping. We’ll probably see her bring home at least a few dozen bags. And I’m sure she’ll have picked out something for both of us to try on.” She smirked as she knew her best friend and her sister. Though she knew her daughter took more afer her father than she had taken from her. But then again their clothing choices were similar as before she had been turned she was often in jeans and shirts. There were no dresses. Though once she was turned, she did wear dresses occassionally though not as often as she was sure Alice would have liked.
The entire family had always been together, quite literally. Esme and Carlisle were almost always together as were her brothers and sisters. Even she and Edward were often together. It was a wonderful experiance to behold, given she could recall times where she had seen Rosalie, Emmett, Jasper, and Alice, with Edward all alone. Those days were in the past now, of course, but she hadn’t quite forgotten them. Every moment with Edward was one to be celebrated, to be remembered. She never got tired of being around Edward as he was the one she had lived for, just like her daughter was. When you loved someone as fiercely as she loved Edward, you never get tired of it. You want to be around them all the time. Even though there were brief moments in time where she sometimes left to go do her own thing, for the most part she was extremely happy just being around Edward.
She knew of course with her husband and daughter, there was someone else she was dying to see now that they were back in Forks. Jacob. It had been a while since she had seen him. Their old friendship had stood the test of time, even though now they were on opposite sides considering she was a vampire and he was a shifter, but nevertheless they had loved eachother, and were good friends irregardless of such facts. Of course it also didn’t help that Jacob was also the one who had imprinted on Renesmee, and she knew sooner rather than later, Renesmee would see that too. She would feel exactly what Jacob had been feeling. Jacob had done a great job of being there for Renesmee for as long as she had been alive. It was something she was grateful to Jacob for, even after all this time. When she heard her daughter’s voice again, she snapped her head out of her thoughts. “Who knows, knowing your father.” She chuckled as she heard her daughter tell her about her friend in Spanish class. She didn’t have to worry about anyone else approaching her husband, as he’d never leave her. They had proven that even when she was still a mere mortal human.
She and Edward were perfect for eachother and there was no one else in the world for them but eachother. “Did you tell your friend good luck with that one?” She asked her daughter and could only nod when her daughter smiled and then spoke about how good it was to be back, and how she’d missed Forks too. “So have I, sweetheart. I’ve missed him alot too.” Charlie of course had been there for her even when she had never imagined that he would be. Even when she and Edward had been separated when she was still human....and how scary the nightmares had been back then. It was horrible to even think about so she tried to get it out of her mind. “But it’s just you and me, Renesmee. Unless your father shows up. Whenever he feels like it.”

Renesmee knew she was the luckiest child on Earth. She could stay with her loved ones forever and neither could time nor death separate them. She realized that she never got tired of being with her family even though it was a bit suffocating to be overly protected. She guessed that was love. She did not need to have a boyfriend to feel love because she knew she was loved and cared everyday. Renesmee’s existence used to be a threat to her family. Bella was almost killed when giving birth to her and her existence also once put her family at risk due to the Volturi’s belief in the theory that she was an immortal child, which she was not. Before she was born, the Cullen, including her father, found it rather hard to accept her as a part of the family. But it was her family who loved her wholeheartedly and protected her. But for their great love, she would not have been able to live, to sit here, under this giant tree and listen to music. Fate was very kind to her.
She grinned childishly when they talked about her aunt and clothes. Whenever they went shopping, they had to bring home at least a few dozens of back and there were always something for Renesmee and her mother to try on. There was always so much fun after every shopping trip, especially when Renesmee and her aunts ganged up on her mother, making her try on different outfits, whether she liked it or not. Everyone said that she took after her father more but there was something she inherited from her mother – the allergy to dresses. Only thinking about wearing one made her shiver and dizzy. That sounds very exiting. But I truly hope that there won’t be any dresses. Maybe we should ask her if she calls later, Mom, just so we know whether to run or not. She laughed a bit.
Renesmee chuckled as she heard her mother say in response to her statement. She understood that her mother always had faith in her father. Yes, Edward Cullen was surrounded by long-legged girls all the time and they would stop at nothing to court him; but none of them were Bella Cullen. There was no need to say how much Renesmee adored her parents and their eternal love. It seemed like nothing could take them apart unless it was for the other one’s sake. Her father had had to choose to leave her mother once before they got married, for her safety. But they went through everything together and at last, they could stay together forever. What a happy ending for everyone, and a beginning for her. Dad had to wait over a century to find his true love. She really wanted to know what life would lead her to. She bet none of the Cullens had thought Edward would fall for a human girl back in fifty years ago. Life was full of expectations. Was there something exciting waiting for her out there? She nodded as her mother asked if she had told her friend good luck with her plan. I did, Mom. She’ll need it.
They talked about Charlie. Renesmee let a sigh as she remembered her grandpa. Like every granddaughter, she loved her grandpa wholeheartedly. She cast her mind back to fifty years ago. Charlie, despite not having the foggiest idea who she actually was, treated her so nicely; as if his instinct had told him that she was his granddaughter. She wished she had been able to call him grandpa for once and feel his strong arms around her. But gone were the days when Charlie still lived with them. Now he had gone to another place, much more beautiful than the Earth. She kept quiet as her mother spoke. She knew Bella loved Charlie as much as she did, probably even more. She smiled gently at her mother.
Mom, can you tell Dad to teach me to waltz? Renesmee switched the subject quickly to lighten the mood. I think the Volturi won’t allow hip-hop or flashmob in their castle and I barely know a thing about traditional or classic dance. If I tell Dad myself, I’m afraid he’ll laugh. He’ll be like “Oh, my tomboy daughter wants to learn the waltz. Is tomorrow the end of the world?”. She pouted as she thought of her father’s face if he ever knew she wanted to learn something so girlish like the waltz.

She knew it was probably a bit annoying to Renesmee to have both her parents and aunts and uncles at school with her, as though it were smothering her all the time. But that was what a family did, they looked out for eachother, protected eachother. Most families did that, although with a vampiric one, it was even more important to do so. She knew that when it was meant to happen that Renesmee would find love herself. It all took time, which of course they had plenty of. She recalled when she had first learned she was pregnant, she loved that baby, and she would do anything for her. Albeit she was surprised when she learned the baby was a girl, instead of a boy, but she was thrilled nevertheless. Fate had worked itself out in so many beautiful ways.
Of course, it was always amusing when she had felt her daughter inside of her. It had made her open up to the possibilities. Though she was relieved after she was born, knowing that they would be able to live their lives the way they dreamed of. She often recalled some of the outfits Alice had selected for her to wear dresses a couple times. Not the most pleasant things to do, but it was futile to argue with her sister. She smiled at her daughter. “Knowing your aunt Alice, there will be dresses to try on. You know she loves to watch us squirm, in them I suppose. Got to love her for it anyway. If she calls I’ll be sure to ask so we can run and hide if there is dresses involved.” She laughed for a moment and then looked around until her eyes were back on her daughter.
She had every reason in the world to trust Edward. She loved him far more than words could ever truly say. Of course she knew women would throw themselves at Edward just like Men had tried to do to her on several occassions, but she didn’t have any of it. She still wore her wedding band, as a sign of her eternal love to her husband. With most people they promised to love eachother til death do they part, but in hers and Edward’s case it was forever. There was no end to it. As honest and surreal sometimes as their marriage had been, she knew that Edward would never dare leave her alone again. She recalled with vivid memory the time that he had, and it was anything but a pleasant experiance. But for everything they went through when she was still human—had brought them something more. Something so pure that neither of them could have imagined it. At last they were together forever. And with a lovingly beautiful girl to prove their eternal love, not that it needed to be proven. A smile rested comfortably on her lips as she watched her daughter. No one had anticipated that this was going to be where they were. Esme and Carlisle had no idea that moving back to Forks would lead one of their children—their eldest son—to his future bride. As a human, back then it was more intimidating to know that they might not like her, or want her around than she feared of them wanting to kill her because she was finding herself in a house full of vampires. That was what she was most afraid of, that she wouldn’t be liked.
“Yes, that she will. Lord knows it took me quite a bit of time and luck to get your father to see it too...I remember when we first met he avoided me like the plague, granted at the time, I didn’t know what he was....exactly. Once I found out, of course there was no keeping me away from your father. I had my heart set on him—and on this life long before we left this town.” She grinned as she thought of it. “Jacob of course, was quite a handful back then....I remember your grandfather was so angry at the fact I was so willing to dismiss Jacob and focus everything on your father. But Jacob was like my brother, we fought of course from time to time, who wouldn’t. But he was still very protective over me. I’m glad to be back here in town. I don’t know if the pack will be ready for it, but they’ll have to be. We’re not going anywhere any time soon.” She told her daughter honestly as she smiled warmly. She had loved Charlie more than she ever thought she would. Given how he wasn't around much when she was little. They had learned how to be closer to one another when she had moved back in with him when she was a junior the first time.
A chuckle escaped her lips. “Why me? Can’t you talk to your father about it? Lord knows he taught me everything I know, as I’m a horrible dancer. Why don’t you try talking to your father, but if he doesn’t listen to you, I’ll persuade him to teach you. After all you’re his little girl, I’m sure he’d do anything you asked him to do.” She told her daughter truthfully. She knew what her daughter was doing and it wasn’t going to work. Sure she didn’t mind the topic change, as it was a refreshing change, except when the Volturi came up. Now that was not a good idea at all. “You’ll be surprised what the Volturi is capable of, my dear. But no, I don’t think they’ll have much of modern music. I’m not as excited going to the ball as you are. I’m doing it simply because your grandfather expects us all to be there. Since the last thing we need is an all out war with them. Too many lives would be lost if we had a fight. But trust me, sweetheart, there is nothing you could do or say that would ever make your father not proud of you. He’d love to teach you. He’s from a different era that is the protective, and loving—he’d not laugh at you for asking something. After all one day you’ll have to dance at your wedding.” She smiled as she said so, remembering her own wedding, how Edward had held her close and how she had danced on his feet.

Bella recalled the moment she first met Edward. Renesmee was all ears to her mother’s story. She was always fond of old time’s stories – which had happened before she was born. She knew a lot of fairy tales; but none of them could be compared with the epic love story of her parents’. She could listen to it over and over again without getting bored, because she wanted the same thing to happen to her. The girl let out some giggles when her mother mentioned how hard Edward to avoid her when their eyes settled on each other for the first time. Her mother was like magnet or gravity to her father; he tried so hard to keep himself away from her, but eventually ended up being with her forever. Life was full of unexpected things.
And then the name Jacob was said. Poor Jake. I bet he hated Dad so much. She commented, thinking of her friend. She had missed him terribly when she was away from Forks. Now that he was here, so near her, things were so complete. He was the best thing that ever happened in her life. He took her care of her and her mother, protected both of them from all the harms. Renesmee liked to look into Jake’s eyes. His dark brown eyes were so warm, sometimes a bit mysterious, but always warm. He was her childhood friend and best friend; he was like a brother, sometimes a babysitter, to her. Of course she was old enough to be aware of the whole imprinting thing, which annoyed her mother quite much, but that never caused any awkwardness in their friendship because their wish was very simple – happiness for each other. Renesmee wanted to see Jake happy and her wolf friend wanted the same thing for her. She believed that she could live with that simplicity forever. If there were no rules, I would definitely make a movie about you and Dad’s story. She grinned. I bet it would be a blockbuster! And I would go to Hollywood.
Renesmee blushed slightly when her mother suggested she talk to her father herself. Well, normally, she never hesitated to ask her father anything; in fact she was quite good at being kittenish and doing the puppy face. She was a Daddy’s little girl after all. But dancing is a totally different thing. Dad and Emmett will tease me, especially Emmett, you know him. You know how much I hate classic dance. I always look like a boy with long hair. Emmett will tease me that I’m not girlish enough for the waltz. She pouted, letting out a sigh. I cannot do the arm-wrestling with him. He’ll win. And that joke will be repeated forever. Yes, forever. She could not live with blushing forever. She could imagine Emmett’s face if he heard her asking her father to teach her the waltz. She loved Emmett and his sense of humor. Sometimes his sense of humor became rather scary. When she was much younger, Emmett always knew how to make his little niece burst into tears with his harmless jokes. The teasing usually ended with a childish game: hide-and-seek, in which Renesmee played the seeker and searched for her dear uncle to revenge.
What? Wedding? No, Mother. I will not get married. Renesmee reacted quite fiercely to her mother’s statement, her face was reddened. I want to stay with you and our family forever. I don’t want to leave. She said with her wet eyes looking at her mother. Never had she thought of leaving her family to be with one else. Marriage was a scary commitment which she did not want to make at all. She wanted to know what love was, but she really did not want to become someone’s wife. If she got married, she would have to give up so many important things in her life. It would be so painful. I love you so much, Mom. I will never leave you to be with someone else.

She smiled as she recalled the memory as though it had just happened. Edward had he captivated her from the second she saw him, though she knew she wasn’t the only one. Their relationship had never been a traditional one, ever. Who could, when the man she loved was a vampire and she had been human. It had been a battlefield trying to keep themselves alive while still trying to keep their romance alive. Before Edward she never imagined her life being what it was, of being a wife and mother. Never in a million years had she dreamed that this would be her life. That every day she had a husband by her side, and a beautiful little girl to hold on to. Still life had turned out exactly as they had hoped it would, she recalled the day that Edward had asked her to marry him. And how scared she was to tell Charlie. The way that Edward had talked to her about what she was to him, at first it was like his own brand of heroin. That was how her blood had called out to him while she was still among the living, now of course it was something else. Something better.
Life had certainly taken them in the direction they were meant to be in. She and Edward were destined to be, even fate had smiled upon them. She heard her daughter’s comments about Jacob, who was a great man to be around. “Yes, he did....he couldn’t understand how it was even possible when we’d known eachother our entire lives and suddenly your father came to town and then—I don’t know how it happened but your father caught my attention and when he did, my curiousity was piqued. Jacob, oh he tried so hard to get me to see things his way. Of what a monster your father was....how I should go for someone with a heartbeat, someone who could keep me warm....and protect me without my needing to change. To be like your father. But I was—incredibly stubborn. I knew that the only way that we were going to be able to make it, was if I was changed. Even your father didn’t want me to go through with the change. He spoke about how we could have a long and happy life together, without my needing to be like he was. That was something that he and I disagreed about. Because not only did I know how dangerous it was. You know being what we are, it’s—I guess in some ways considered a curse. For me, it simply means never being alone.” She took an unneeded breath which was something she did quite often when she was in an area where she needed to act human. Most times it came naturally.
Then the conversation turned to Jacob and Edward. Oh what a nightmare that had become. Jacob was and is one of the best friends I’ve ever had. Yes we fought, more after your father entered my life. He was so jealous. But I can attest that your father was a sweetheart about it. He didn’t like Jacob either, for obvious reasons. The biggest one was obviously that your father’s a vampire and Jacob is a shifter which are natural enemies. I remember when your grandfather, Charlie, tried to step in between those two when it appeared that they were going to kill eachother, over me. Of course, that wasn’t the entire truth of course, but we....hadn’t told him anything for his safety more so than anything else, as we didn’t want to put him in danger. Now your father is alot of things, but he tolerated Jacob...even though he didn’t want to—he did it for my sake..because I couldn’t choose between them, I didn’t want to have to. I’ve known your father over fifty years, but I’ve known Jacob almost my entire life. It was one of the reasons why I couldn’t cut Jacob out of my life even when the others wanted me to...due to well, you know how he smells like a wet dog. But aside from that, he’s not changed from the guy I knew when we were kids.” Even thinking of the memory made a smile appear on her face. She loved her family and she had loved Jacob too, although more like a friend or a brother than anything else. It was all the two were ever destined to be, she knew that even when he did not. True it hadn’t changed the fact that she had loved Jacob, and that he knew it. But still, Jacob had stayed by her side through more than she ever thought possible. A friendship like theirs was, could stand the test of time...despite it’s hardships. And there were plenty of them due to what they were, and how that had affected them. To her it was never a choice between Jacob and Edward but a choice of who she was and who she was meant to be.
Another memory came to mind, as she spoke to her daughter. ”I remember when I learned I was pregnant with you...sweetheart. Your father was terrified, and Jacob—well he was not happy with the fact I married your father let alone had gotten pregnant. But when you were born—it was the last day of my life as a well...normal teenager. I became a mother and with that my life changed in so many wonderful ways. When I learned Jacob—imprinted on you, I was so angry....I threw him around quite a bit. I was tough even for a newborn. I know that he had no control over it but you’re my daughter....I was protective, still am, obviously....but that’s what mothers do. You’ll learn that yourself if you’re able to....have the same kind of joy that your father and I have had.” She told her daughter honestly. She chuckled when she heard that her daughter wished she could make a movie off of hers and Edward’s love and marriage. “As briliant as it would be, I doubt the Volturi would think of it as a good thing therefore it’s best if we don’t consider it. I’d hate to have them come down here for anything....even if it was a friendly visit due to your grandfather being friends with a few of them.” She told her daughter with a smirk. She chuckled as she looked at her young daughter.
“You’ve always been your father’s daughter, Renesmee. I knew that even from the start. You’ve always had him wrapped around that little finger of yours, and you know it. I know dancing is something else altogether, don’t forget, your dad taught me. And you know how horrible I am when it comes to dancing.” It was the honest truth though she knew that her daughter might not completely understand. “There is nothing you can do about what happens with your uncle Emmett, and if he says something about it. You can tell him that if he doesn’t have anything nice to say then it would be best if he didn’t say anything at all. He is who he is. Your father however, that’s another story. Knowing him, and I do, he’ll teach you. Yes, he might be surprised that you want to learn but it’ll give you something else to bond over. Because we both know I’m not good when it comes to that sort of thing. Your dad would be happy to teach you. Just—talk to him about it. And if you can’t get through to him, then I’ll talk to him for you, okay?” She told her daughter as she remembered all the times where Emmett really made her daughter quite scared with his sense of humor. She remembered seeing her daughter cry and that of course did not make her happy. Though her daughter was more than capable of taking her own revenge in that kind of thing. She knew the topic of marriage wouldn’t be a pleasant one for her daughter but it was something that needed to be discussed at some point. Even if it wasn't right away.
“Listen to me, sweetheart. I know you...better than you think. I know you’re not wanting to leave this family, and we’d not force that upon you, whether you married or not. Your father and I, the whole family would support you in it. I was scared of marriage too, once. But you know I realized that it—in the grand scheme of things, it was an important step once your father and I were ready for it. It was a night I’ll never forget. I was absolutely terrified, but it was absoutely worth it. And you never know, sweetheart, whomever you find that in your eyes is worth being with forever, could very well do what I did. Join into the family....it’s one thing I don’t regret. I love you, so much sweetheart. You would never have to leave me. Not when it really matters. I’m always with you, whether I’m physically next to you or I’m not. All I can tell you, is when the time is right, you’ll know. It’s not something I’d rush into, but...if you find that special person it’ll make sense to you. Just trust me, it’ll happen when you least expect it.”

Renesmee smiled as her mother told her about Jacob’s reaction to the fact that there had been nothing he could do to make her mother stop loving her father when she had been a human. She bet it was very hard for him to understand the feelings Bella had had for such a bloodsucker as her father. A lot of things in this world were unexplainable, and probably love was one of the all-time mysteries. No one could explain why Edward Cullen had landed his eyes on Bella Swan and had been attracted by an ordinary girl, despite having lived for over a century. No one could explain why Bella had laid her love on a vampire – a dangerous creature. No one could explain why she was Renesmee Cullen but not anyone else. Everything had been taken care of by the hand of God. She felt a bit sorry for her good friend – Jacob Black. Watching someone you love walk away from you to be with someone else – someone you desperately dislike – is no easiness. She knew that pain, despite not having tasted it yet. It hurt. Nothing hurts badly as a broken heart. But one thing about Jacob she admired was that he had remained by her mother’s side, protecting her even though he was not the one she had chosen. Jake was the man with a good heart. Renesmee could feel that every beat of that heart content love and care for his loved ones. He could not be the one to walk with her mother for the rest of her life, but he still wanted to be a friend whom Bella could trust, could count on forever. You got through something even more dangerous than the transformation, Mom. You chose to save my life although you know that I could kill you, from the inside. I’m so glad you’re here now, with me, visibly. If things did not work out fifty years ago, if I was the reason why Dad had to lose you, I don’t know how I would lie with that. She said with her voice a bit shaky. Losing her mother was something she never wanted to think of. She did not want to become the reason to cause anyone’s pain. She had almost become a murderer before she was born. She had almost taken her mother’s life and caused her father’s most terrible loss. She knew that if that had happened, her father would have never forgiven her. Much to her relief, everything was okay now. Her family was safe and happy. No one had to suffer any loss or pain because of her. And unexpectedly, she had become her parents’ and also the entire family’s joy, which was literally amazing. At least she did not disappoint the ones she loved so much.
Knowing Edward Cullen was the best man in the world, Renesmee was not surprised to know that her father had had tolerated Jacob for her mother’s sake. He was always so sweet and gentle when it came to his wife and daughter. Renesmee loved being around her father, acting like a child and letting her father spoil her terribly. She liked it very much when her father called her his little girl. He was one of the few people who were able to call her a little girl without having to suffer her anger. Tough as she was, she still wanted to be the innocent, angelic and adorable baby girl of her parents. In the past fifty years, her family had had so many beautiful memories together. If they ever had a chance to recall all of them together, she bet it would take all night long until the stories ended. Wet dog? She uttered surprisingly then laughed so hard. Rose usually tells me the same thing. She keeps wondering why I like to be near a smelly dog all the time. She admitted, still laughing. It had taken her quite awhile to convince Rosalie to stop complaining about the wet-dog smell of her best friend. The heightened olfactory of vampires was probably the reason why they became enemies to shifters. Renesmee understood that it was hard to put up with a very uncomfortable scent for a long time so she was not amazed when her family, her aunts and her mother in particular, was annoyed by Jacob’s natural scent.
The girl sniggered a bit when her mother mentioned the moment she figured out she had been pregnant. It had been completely understandable for her father and Jacob to freak out, and probably dislike her. After all, at that time, she had been a threat to her mother’s life. Normal mothers around the world feel wonderful when the child inside of their bodies kicks them. A hybrid’s mother felt like she was going to die every time the child moved. It was a lot pain since being a half vampire made Renesmee very strong, comparing to a normal child – strong enough to end her the life of her mother – who had still been a human at that time. But those days were over, luckily. She sniggered amusingly when Bella revealed to her the feelings a mother would have after finding out that someone imprinted on her baby girl: angry, of course. Renesmee was well aware of the whole imprinting thing. Nevertheless, she paid no mind to it since it bothered neither her life nor Jacob’s. The imprinting gave her the absolute protection from Jacob. But what she really treasured was their friendship. Needless to say how good it felt to have someone look after her everyday in her endless life. She definitely could live with that forever. I remember that day, Mom, although I was kind of too young at that time. You were fierce and scary. She grinned mischievously. That kind of joy sounds worth dying for. I hope I will be able to have the same kind of joy as you and dad’s someday, but not now most definitely. She said, grinning again. She let out a laugh after hearing Bella’s comment about her pretty crazy idea of making a movie of the epic love story of her parents. They have let us live peacefully for fifty years though they seem to be rather eager to beat us up someday. I don’t think I’d like to test their determination. She said, trying to hide the sarcasm in her voice. She did not hate the Volturi, but did not like them either.
When it came to the dance, Renesmee found it so awkward to talk about. She hated everything girly and would rather die than try to be gentle once. Nevertheless, giving up the ball was not on her to-do list. She had to go to Volterra, maybe just to see what the town was like, or just to have some fun and get to know new people. Okay, fine, Mom. I’ll try. She nodded reluctantly. The best dad in the world would not turn his daughter down if she asked him something interesting as teaching her to dance. Furthermore, it would tighten their relationship. Still, she was pretty sure that she would be like a wooden stick beside the coolest dancer in the world. Her playful uncle, Emmett, would not ignore that noticeable moment. She smiled when her mother gave her some advice about how to deal with her uncle. I’ll try that. She grinned. The topic was soon shifted to marriage. Whenever she talked about that, she felt a cold running down her spine as if she was about to face Death or something. She hated commitment as much as she hated flying cockroaches. Marriage, in her opinion, meant no freedom or kidding but seriousness. She knew a lot of people found happiness in their marriage life but she supposed she was not one of them. It scared her to death thinking of leaving her family to be with a stranger someday. I don’t want to be anyone’s wife, Mom. I don’t want to be anyone’s possession. She uttered. Most importantly, I don’t want to grow up. Starting a family of my own means that I have to grow up whether I want it or not. And I don’t like that at all. Whoever dares to ask my hand in marriage definitely will be bitten. It's a good thing that I don't have venom but it will leave some scars. She pouted childishly.

She smiled at her daughter. Her beautiful angelic little girl. She knew how difficult it had been for Jacob to stand by her side, when she had chosen Edward over him. There was nothing she could do to explain why she felt the way that she did about Edward, nor could he explain it either. She had chalked it up simply to fate intervening. Love was a mysterious thing and no one, could understand how one person fell in love with another, no matter what their species were...whether human, shifter or vampire. She knew it better than anyone else just how complex human emotions could be, especially when love got involved. It wasn’t easy for Jacob to stand by her, even when she had chosen Edward. It was not a matter of whether she had loved Jacob or not, it was that she had loved Edward more. Despite hurting like hell, Jacob had stayed by her side, protecting her even though they were to be considered natural enemies once she was turned.
Jacob was a very good man with a good heart. Someone that even to this day she still loved, albeit more as a brother than anything else. The one thing she loved about Jacob was that even though she had broken his heart, he still had wanted to be her friend and to protect her as any friend would. She had always trusted Jacob, even before knowing that he was a shifter, and the world that went along with it. But she could count on him forever, and for always.
“Yes, I know...I lived through it. I saved your life, sweetheart because from the moment..I knew I was pregnant, I couldn’t stop it. I didn’t want to be responsible for ending a life of someone who had no say in the matter. Besides I was kind of shocked when I was pregnant as neither your father and I ever saw it coming. We had to ask your grandfather whether it was even possible at all. Glad that it was though as I couldn’t imagine my life without you, my baby girl. I would do it all over again, even with the risk of possibly dying. You know I would have hated to have left your father and you, should I have died then...but at least I’d know he wasn’t alone. You’d live with it the same way your father would have, one day at a time.” She said softly as she gave her daughter a hug.
She was not afraid to die when she had been human. Although she did not want to think of what could happen if she had died now, she wanted to think that they would be alright. That they had to be. That they would stick together. Everything was okay though as she and her husband were still happy, and they had a little girl that neither one of them wanted to live without. Edward was a great father and she had to hope she was just as good as a mother. There was nothing Renesmee could ever do that would ever be a disappointment to her.
They had alot of beautiful memories together and she hoped for many more. She knew it would take more than one night to recall all of the memories together if they had to share it with someone else, outside of their family, like with Jacob for example. “Trust me, I have handled his scent rather well. I actually like being near him...for the most part, mostly because it still irritates your father. Even though he knows that I’m his, and I always will be. Your aunt Rosalie has never been the kind of person to want to tolerate anything, much less Jacob and the pack. At first, she didn’t even particularily like me. Because she thought I was making the wrong choice when I told her that I wanted to be like your father. But after you were born, sweetheart, she helped to make sure that nothing happened to you, and that’s when our bond as sisters actually occurred.” She smiled recalling the memory as though it had just happened yesterday.
She hadn’t cared about the effects on herself when she had been pregnant, all that had mattered was that the baby was alright. That was all that truly mattered to her no matter if she had to go through a lot of pain, to allow the baby to live. She never believed her unborn child to be a threat to her, even if the baby was tearing her apart from the inside out. Her baby girl had been so strong inside of her, and she could feel every ounce of it. The day her daughter was born, was the day she was no longer a human. Edward had to change her otherwise she would have in effect died. She almost did. “Well I barely had a chance with you or your father being what we are, so you’re right I was probably a bit scary throwing him around the yard like that.” She liked the feeling of throwing him around. He was her best friend yes, but oh how mad he had made her when she learned of the imprinting before she had a chance to really be with her husband or daughter. But she had cooled off after a while, which was a good thing. Jacob having imprinted upon her daughter, had given her daughter the absolute protection, not only from the other shifters but from everything else too."It is definitely worth dying for. And you will when the time comes. You’re just too young to understand that it will happen. Believe me, I said the same thing when I was young. I never thought I’d marry let alone have a child by the time I turned eighteen, and now look at me.” She grinned mischeviously.
“Yes but the only reason they have let us live in peace is Aro is secretly hoping we’ll give up and join him, especially your dad, your aunt Alice and I. They won’t kill us, but they will make our lives miserable if we do something to anger us. Aro would like to collect us, into the Volturi so all of us with a talent, are safer than the ones without, like your grandparents and your uncle Emmett and your aunt Rosalie. You would be willing to test their determination, I can see it in you. You’re just like your father in that regard. I may not be the Volturi’s biggst fan but I don’t particularily hate them either as they do have rules that need to be enforced, it’s just that when someone threatens my family, I don’t tend to be their best friends. Or like them for that matter.”
“Good. I’m glad.” She told her daughter as she looked at her. She knew that Emmett had no room to talk. “Besides if anything if your uncle Emmett annoys you too much you can always have your aunt Rosalie knock some sense into him. God knows he’d do anything for her if she asked." She chuckled as she looked at her daughter. “I know you don’t....sweetheart. I was the same way when I was young too. But sweetheart, marriage isn’t about being in someone’s possession, not in a good marriage anyway. To me, marriage with your dad, it’s been about having someone there with you, to talk to, and to look out for, someone that can brighten your day when you feel bad. That’s what marriage is to me. It’s about knowing that every day that I have someone who needs me in their life as much as I need them. I know starting a family can be scary. Trust me, I know that better than anyone. But when it happens, it’ll happen. And who knows maybe it could even be with someone you already know...someone you already care about. Someone like Jacob perhaps.” She grinned as she said it seeing her daughter pout. It was cute, but it wouldn’t get her anywhere. She hugged her daughter. “After all it took your dad over a century to find someone for him, it could take you just as long....just have patience and what’s meant to be will happen. Everything happens for a reason even if the reason isn’t always understood.”

People always said that the love of a mother for her children is endless, nothing can change that. Renesmee believed she was one of the people who understood it clearly. Had her mother not loved her, she would have given up her child’s life – the child that had caused her terrible pain even before it was born. No one could love her like her own mother. Needless to say how happy Renesmee was to be her parents little girl and a member of the Cullens. She did not know how to thank God enough for letting her be Renesmee Cullen, not anyone else. She was grateful that she was given a happy family that always cared about her, worried about her and took care of her. Fifty plus years had past and everything stayed the same. The Cullens still stick together no matter where they went. Now that they had returned to Forks, things got even better – they had got back to where everything had started, to where they called home, to where they truly discovered the unbreakable bond between each member of the family. Listening to her mother words, the girl realized how lucky she was. She probably was the only hybrid in the world that was lucky enough to have her mother by her side. Nahuel and his half-sisters were hybrids as well but they lost their mother and they did not have a father that truly cared about them, was willing to die for them. She had all of that. What had she done to deserve this wonderful life? I don’t know how I could live without you, Mom. If you had left me, like Nahuel’s mother, I would never be able to forgive myself. Jake would hate me, Dad would hate me. Everyone, including myself, would hate me. She said, wrapped her arms around her mother tightly and her eyes started to get wet. She soon wiped away the two small tears before they could fall down on her face. She did not want to think of losing her mother someday. She hated losses because they are so painful, they hurt, they cut like knives. Losing her grandfather – Charlie - shredded her heart although her time with him had not been very long. She could not imagine how her life would turn out if she had to watch another member of her family go away. Now that she had grown up, she would never let anything hurt her family. She would be willing to die if that meant saving her family from harms. She did not want to be the small, self-defenseless sparrow anymore – she wanted to be the eagle, a protector.
The conversation lightened up a bit when the heavy scent of shifters was mentioned. Renesmee found it quite ridiculous that she actually enjoyed being with people with such a smell. It was like an odd perfume to her in some respects and she was totally capable of putting up with it. But not everyone in her family was able to do that, especially her aunts. People said she took after her father but her mother and she were surely alike when it came to dealing with shifters. She was well aware that her mother liked Jacob, as a good friend of hers, regardless his annoying smell. And that was one thing her father could not do. In return, her shifter friend – Jacob – was not the biggest fan of her father at all. Her aunt Rosalie was a good example of eternal hatred for shifters’ scent. Tolerating was not something she was good at. Nevertheless, it was Rosalie and Jacob who had helped her parents take care of her when she was much younger. She remembered the two of them had argued as both of them had wanted to feed her (a baby was too young to feed herself after all). Had Jacob not carried such a smell with him everywhere, he and Rosalie could have become best friends at some points. I’m glad I’m the string that tights you and aunt Rosalie together. She grinned, feeling very happy that she had unconsciously done a good thing. Aunt Rosalie and Jake could become friends if she stopped calling him a dog. She let out a small laugh.
Jacob’s imprinting on her had caused her mother a shock, a heart attack probably if she had been a human at the time she found out the truth about that. It was totally understandable to be pissed off when waking up after a hard time giving birth to a little girl and finding out that you had just lost your daughter to a shifter. But time flied. Now the Cullens no longer had problems with that, especially after the confrontation with the Volturi. Her mother had learned to deal with Jacob without getting mad at him because he had imprinted on her, although it was amusing to see them argue about that sometimes. I thought you were going to rip his head off. She laughed a bit. All I saw in you when you threw him around the yard was majesty, mom. Very epic! A mischievous grin grew on her face. Renesmee shuddered as she saw her mother’s grin. You know thinking of marriage, starting a family or even falling in love scares me to death. She bit her bottom lip while looking at her mother, begging her to stop reminding that she would have to have a family of her own someday.
Renesmee was old enough to understand how much threatening the Volturi was toward her family and she did not like it at all. She respected them as they were the ones to keep the laws upheld, which was a good thing. But they were too greedy and cunning. They, especially Aro, had wanted to collect member of her family when they had paid a visit to Forks because of her fifty years earlier. She believed that that desire still lingered something inside of their heads. They were not the type of people that gave up too easily, at least not without trying. They will never get what they want. That is for sure. And I’m not out of mind, mom, although I do take after my father. I won’t do stupid things unless I have to. A smile grew on her face. She knew she was capable of doing things that were worse than stupidity.
She nodded excitedly when her mother suggested that she should tell Aunt Rosalie if her uncle got annoying. That was a good idea. Rosalie was one of few people that could scare Emmett. Luckily, her aunt loved her wholeheartedly and dealing with Emmett would be duck soup with a little help from her aunt. Why didn’t I think of that? That’s brilliant! She uttered. And I shall do it. I’ll make his life miserable. A playful laugh escaped her lips. Her smile faded when it came to the whole marriage thing. Nothing her mother said would change her negative opinions about marriage, although what her mother said did make sense to her. I’ve got what I want. That is you and dad and everyone in our family. I have Jacob and his pack too. I’ve the whole world. Why would I need someone else to light up my world? She smiled. I hate marriage and I always will. I know there are happy marriages, just like yours, Mom. But I don’t think my life will get any better than this if I settle down with someone and be his possession. She said stubbornly. Maybe you’re right. It’ll take time to find someone. But if there really is someone for me among seven billion people in the world, I hope he will just stay where he is and never come to me.

Family was something that the vampire held most dear to her. There were many nights where she had often questioned if whether what she was doing was the right thing and if she would end up hurting someone in the process. Being a mother only added more pressure to it. She loved being a mother, of knowing she had someone whom she had brought into this world of her own free will. Renesmee was a blessing in more ways than one. One thing that always stayed the same was that everything happened the way it did for a reason, even if that reason wasn’t always understood.
One would think that because she was a vampire that she would have no feeling at all. At least in the books that she had read about vampires, they didn’t have souls, they didn’t care about anyone but themselves. And no where in the books did it specify that they had any other form of diet aside from consuming humans. But these vampires were of fiction, nothing else. In her world it was anything but fiction. It was real, just as much as a human’s existance could be. Even most human mothers believed their children were the greatest gift of all, and she was no exception to that. Renesmee had not only sealed the bond between her and her husband but in her first few breaths of life she had also sealed the bond between them all, and had brought the whole family even closer together than they were before. For that, she would always love her daughter.
Even with the fact that being pregnant with her little girl had in effect caused her a great amount of stress and pain, she would do it all over again to see that little girl, even if it meant she died not soon after. She would have given up her own life to save that little girl. Even though it would have meant leaving Edward behind, she would have done so to save their daugther. That was just how much she loved her daughter before she was even born. Sure she had been through a great amount of pain especially right before her daughter had been born, but it was all worth it in her mind.
She was grateful that everything worked out though and she was able to live, and to be a part of that little girl’s life forever. There were no words to describe how happy she was being a mother, and being a wife. Never did she imagine it would be the path for her as she had seen what a marriage could do to a person, namely her father...Charlie. She’d seen how unhappy he had been when his marriage to her mother, Renee, had fallen apart and how unhappy he was after he had found out she’d married Phil. He was happy for her, but never had found love again for himself, not until Sue Clearwater came into his life. It was why she was hesitant on relationships prior to Edward walking into her life the way he had, and how he had chosen her.
Fifty years ago, things had turned completely upside down. She’d always been afraid of settling down and getting married only to have her whole world turned completely upside down. Of not being able to be close to her family again. With Charlie, it was easy to just go see him and to show him that she was in fact alright. With her mother, Renee, it wasn’t quite so easy. Renee had been more of a child than a mother to a certain extent, but she loved her anyway, but she had known from the start that Renee, would never accept her answers of the fact she was fine, she’d want more of an explanation once she had turned. Charlie had accepted it without questions so long as she remained in his life just like she had, though he never knew that she was in fact a vampire. Only that she had changed a little bit. Her strength was what had kept her going even in the last moments of her human life. It was her strength that allowed her to go through with the change once Edward had bit her more than once. She was lucky of course that it had worked as there was always a slim chance that something could go wrong. But with her it hadn’t. She had stayed with the family that had loved her unconditionally no matter how difficult she had made things.
Returning back to the place that she called home was a godsend. Sure it made her slightly sad that her father was no longer among the living, that everyone she knew as a human had either moved away or had died, but it was still a nice place to call home. She knew there were a few other hybrids, like Nahuel and his half sisters that were alive because of their mother and their father’s relationships, albeit their mother had died, the way she almost had, and their father had not been the most caring. Still they had survived without all that. So she saw her daughter as a gift, and she and Edward were fortunate enough to still have eachother even with all the ups and downs they had had to go through in order to get that far. It was a gift, that just kept on giving, in her oppinion.
“I could say the same thing about you, my sweet girl. If something would have happened and I’d....I’d have lost you, I don’t know what I would have done. I am very glad that I did not leave you or your dad, sweetheart. I know it would have devastated both of you. I have to admit, I didn’t know there for a minute or so whether your dad was able to—to change me in time. If I had—had died, I don’t know what the future would have been like for you, and for our entire family. But what I do know is I would give my life to spare yours, and your father’s. You two are what keep me happy, and alive. Jacob and the rest of our family, I would do the same for. I’d die, to protect them as well. I’ve known Jacob my entire life, and I’ve known your dad almost as long. But there is no way that everyone would hate you, sweetheart. It wouldn’t have been your fault if I had died. It would just be that my body wasn’t strong enough to withstand it all. I chose this life, I chose to be a mother, even at the risk of knowing that I could in fact be killed while trying to bring you into this world and I would do it again. Because you’re that important to me.” She said as she wrapped her arms around her little girl. She knew that her daughter did not like to think of her dying, or of anyone else dying after what she had been through with losing her maternal grandparents, though Charlie was the only one she had ever really known aside from Sue. Granted she wished that her daughter could have had more time wtih Charlie. The risks were always there. And the fact of the matter was, that just because they were immortal did not mean that they would be spared the death that some had recieved. The truth was the lossess in which she had experianced had cut her too, even though she had not had a beating heart in which to grieve them. A parent’s job was to protect one’s family, and that included the children. No matter how old her baby girl was, whether it was fifty or five hundred, she would always be viewed as her baby girl. If anything she knew her daughter was not a defenseless child, someone who needed to be protected but that she was now one that could help defend against all enemies that came against them.
A soft chuckle could be heard when discussing the scent of the shifters. To her, it was like a perfume which was not the most pleasant, but she could put up with it. She had to, because her best friend was one of them. Despite the smell she loved her best friend wholeheartedly, although she had been a bit upset with him when he had imprinted on her daughter, but that had been understandable. It was still quite funny how Edward disliked Jacob even after all this time though he had tolerated the shifter when they had been willing to put their daughter on his back, to protect her in case the confrontation with the Volturi got ugly. Of course Jacob had not been the biggest fan of Edward either, due to well, their long and complicated history, and she was the primary reason for it. Although Alice had handled the shifter smell better than Rosalie, whom no matter how much time had passed, could not tolerate the shifters’ scent for anything in the world. Despite that, of course Rosalie and Jacob had been the ones who had helped out with her daughter when she was a little girl. It often got funny to watch the two fight over who got to feed her daughter, especially since her daughter was too young to feed herself. The thing that made her smile the most was the fact that despite being common enemies they had worked together, and had the smell not gotten in the way they could have been good friends. “Yes me too. I enjoyed the fact we were getting along and that my having her niece would be quite beneficial. She loved you from the moment she saw you, as she had always wanted a child for herself but because of what we are, that never happened. And you’re right, they could have been friends, but she’ll never stop calling him a dog, because to her, that’s what he is.” That was the honest truth though she didn’t mind that they weren’t friends. They tolerated eachother, to a certain extent though Rosalie did try and leave the room when he was around, if she could. Sometimes that wasn’t entirely possible.
When Jacob had imprinted on her daughter, there was no words imaginable that could describe how she had felt. She had only held her daughter once, and suddenly Jacob said he had imprinted on her?! Oh she was so upset! She had thrown him around the entire yard, probably could have killed him if she wanted to. But as time went on, she came to an understanding that Jacob hadn’t tried to imprint on her daughter, it was a reaction, something he couldn’t control. Which she had known that all along as he had described the imprinting process to her, once. Still she hadn’t liked it. She had learned to deal with Jacob because she had no other choice. When the confrontation with the Volturi had occurred she didn’t have any other option. She didn’t have any other choice. They had to get along for her daughter’s sake. It hadn’t taken long for her to accept the situation, not that she ever liked it, without getting mad at Jacob, because he had imprinted on her daughter. Still she was sure whenever they got into arguements it seemed pretty funny to everyone else, especially to her little girl. “I thought about it once or twice, I’ll have to admit.” She chuckled as she looked at her daughter.
“They say that power comes from your emotions, and I’ll believe that. It’s the only way to describe the feeling I got throwing Jacob around like a rag doll around our front yard. I swear your father got the most amusement off of it.” It was true, Edward liked it when she had thrown Jacob around the yard. It was pretty funny really. She kept her arms around her little girl. She could tell that the whole marriage subject was absolutely terrifying to her little girl. “Yes I know, I felt the same way once myself. But if it happens to be with someone say like Jacob or someone else that we know, you wouldn’t have to worry about leaving any of us, as you’d be right there with us, and so would your partner be. Even if the guy turned out to be human.” She could say that as she had been human once, and it wouldn’t surprise her if her daughter did find love with a human, but she also hoped that one day that her daughter would accept Jacob the way that Jacob was waiting for it to happen. She knew the risks that the Volturi held better than anyone.
“Still, with the ball coming up we all have to be careful. But you’re right they will never get what they want, not willingly at least. Aro knows that especially but I wouldn’t put it past him to try something drastic to get what he wants. They aren’t the kind of vampires to give up not without a fight. And a fight is what they will get if they attempt to take a member of my family away from me.” A sigh escaped her lips. “Yes, you are too much like your father, that’s what worries me. We both know you’re capable of doing something at any point, with or without a reason. Let’s hope though that it doesn’t come down to any of us doing anything stupid at least not around the Volturi. I don’t want to see this family fall apart now. We’ve worked too hard to keep it together for the last half century.” It was understandable especially as a parent how worried the ball made her feel though she tried her best not to push those worries onto her daughter. The funny part was she could imagine how Emmett would react being ganged upon by his niece and that of his wife. It would be absolutely brilliant. “I don’t know maybe because you like me to think of these things for you? And I am one to come up with brilliant ideas after all.” She teased her daughter. She couldn’t help but chuckle when her daughter had stated that she would make Emmett’s life miserable. “Don’t have too much fun with that.” She said playfully as she looked at her daughter.
“I know sweetheart and you will always have your dad, and I....and the rest of our family. However, there are certain ties that bind you more closely to someone else, and it’s not about marriage, sweetheart. You don’t have to be married to someone to love them. It’s not about being in a possession of someone else. I know how scary marriage is. I thought the same way as you did. That marriage was a mistake to go through, that I’d forever be someone else’s possession and nothing more than that. But your dad taught me that it didn’t have to be that way. It helps if you find the right person for it. I’ve seen countless of unhappy marriages. My own parents included. Your grandfather Charlie and your grandmother Renee are perfect examples of that. And what prey tell happens if this someone happens to be Jacob or someone from the pack, that happens to fall in love with you and you fall in love with them in return, then what? You’re telling me you’d throw that to the wind because you wouldn’t want to lose me or your father? Because I’m telling you that there is nothing in this world, nowhere in this world you could go that your dad and I wouldn’t travel to, in order to be close to you. Besides there may come a point where you want to live apart from all of us....like say in your grandfather’s old house.” She smiled as she thought of Charlie’s house, the one she had grown up in, she had possession of it after all. It was willed to her after Charlie’s death.

Post by RENESMEE CARLIE CULLEN on Apr 27, 2013 7:59:47 GMT -8
Renesmee tried her best not to sob when her mother wrapped her loving arms around her. Memories came back to her mind. Jacob sometimes described her mother in her human time as beautiful with pink cheeks, heart beating. Renesmee had not had a chance to see her mother that way. What she remembered about her mother as a human was a dead, lifeless body but with a happy glint in her eyes. She had just been born therefore too young to understand the circumstance but she knew that the eyes of her mother had been full of love for her, even when her mother had been so close to the death. Now the woman sitting next to her, whom she called her beloved mother, did not have pink cheeks or heartbeats but she was still the most beautiful woman in her eyes. She was thankful that she could see her mother every morning when she woke up and every night before she fell as sleep, being surrounded by misty dreams. Having experienced the fear of losing her loved ones once in her life, Renesmee had somewhat become very protective over them. If her existence resulted in their deaths, she would never, ever be able to forgive herself. Listening to her mother confirm that no one would have hated her if things had gone wrong fifty years earlier, her mind was set at ease but she did not think that people that she loved, who also loved her mother wholeheartedly would not have been able to endure the pain of losing her mother because of her existence. Seeing her face everyday would have been the hardest thing for them to do if things had not worked out. But nothing had gone wrong, everything had been perfectly fine, thank God it had been that way. Every parent loved their child with their hearts and souls. Despite having no soul, her parents loved her with everything they had, every second in their life. They were her inspirations and role models – her everything.
A blissful smile grew on her pale face as they talked about Rosalie. Renesmee knew that her aunt had given her a great love even before she had been born due to the fact that her aunt had always wanted a child of her own. When everyone had considered her as a beast, a monster, even a murderer, Rosalie had protected her and taken care of her mother. When her father had not accepted her and her mother had had to deal with the situation on her own, it was Rosalie that had been by her mother’s side, supported her. Renesmee had fully grown; fifty years had past. Rosalie’s love and care for the troublesome niece had never changed. And in return, Renesmee always tried her best to make her aunt happy, loved her as much as a daughter loved her mother so as to partly complete Rosalie’s dream of having a child. A joyful laugh slipped out of her lips as her mother assured her that Aunt Rosalie would never stop calling Jacob a dog. It was her style after all. Rosalie would not be Rosalie anymore without it. Jacob was such a special friend to her and also to her parents, despite the fact that he never got along well with her father. His imprinting on her had annoyed her parents so much and Renesmee had to admit she loved watching her parents grumble about that with Jacob. That usually led to an argument, which ended in laughter every time. Personally, Renesmee paid no mind to the whole imprinting thing and it did not make her think about her best friend any differently. She knew about having mates in the vampire world but she could not see Jacob as a mate as she had known her for her whole life. She never mentioned as well as never thought of his imprinting on her as it would make everything awkward between her and him if she did. All that happened between the two of them, from the day she had been born until this very moment, was purely friendship. Jacob, in her eyes, was like a superman, like Spiderman or Batman. He could become anything she needed – a listener, a partner in crime (when they wanted to pull pranks on somebody), a big brother and a best friend. But nothing more than the friendship limit. She was not ready for anything further than that. She was too young and too wild to be stuck in a relationship. You cannot force yourself to fall in love with someone. She would simply let things happen and fate would decide. Life was unpredictable. Giggles escaped her lips as her mother admitted she had thought about ripping Jacob’s head off once or twice. Yeah, I believe Dad had the same thought as yours at that time. But he just managed not to make it obvious. She grinned playfully.
Renesmee frowned and avoided looking into her mother’s eyes so as to hide her pink cheeks when she heard mother talk about marriage and if the person happened to be Jacob or someone else they knew, or even a human. True. If that happened she would not have to worry about having to leave her family but still it was so uncomfortable to face the topic, especially with Jacob being involved in. She was thankful that the topic had been switched to the Volturi’s upcoming ball. Renesmee was proud of her taking after her father, outside and inside. Aunt Alice had told her about all the crazy things her father had managed to do. He had once come to the Volturi to ask for death when he had thought her mother had been dead, committed suicide. The Volturi, of course, had not accepted as they had not wanted to lose such a talent as her father. Everyone knew what had happened next: her father had wanted to break the rules so as to get what he wished. How insane, but epic in Renesmee’s opinion. She certainly did not like the idea of having her father executed by the Volturi; but she had to admit that she admired his love for her mother. Don’t worry, Mom. I promise to be good at the ball, careful as well, of course. The Volturi may be dangerous but they have reasons to fear us. She let out a quiet, dry laugh after a childish smile. The idea of making Emmett’s life miserable made her happy. Her mother was the most brilliant person in the world to come up with such an idea. She bit her lower lip to suppress a laugh when her mother told her not to have too much fun with it. She would not. She had to save some for the next time. You know I love my Uncle. I don’t want to make his life overly miserable after, just a little.
And then the topic returned to the marriage thing. The young hybrid let out a heavy sigh when she listened to her mother. She understood that her mother would only be less worried about her when she settled down and stopped being childish. Every parent wanted a happy life for their child, as well as a happy, successful marriage for them when they were old enough. But in Renesmee’s case, she would rather be sent to a church to become a nun than become someone’s wife, despite the fact that she was too wild, too crazy to suit the life of a nun. She was relieved to know that she would have her parents by her side no matter where life, a stupid marriage took her to. Mom…Don’t bring Jake in. He and I are different, complicated. He is my childhood friend and my best friend. I cannot think about marrying him someday. She pouted childishly, blushing a bit. Well, maybe I won’t throw that to the window but I hate to make decisions, especially hard ones. She smiled when her mother mentioned her grandfather’s old house, which belonged to her mother now. She loved everything about it, especially the beautiful memories she had with her grandfather. She could not see him anymore but that did not mean he had disappeared or melted into the air. He was still watching her and her family from somewhere she could not reach. And she knew that Charlie would keep them safe and sound, away from all harms, as a father, and a grandfather should do. Can we go to grandpa’s house after school, Mom? I miss it, and him too. She asked gently.
